NOTE:Update (8/23/24) As of May 2024, I NO LONGER cover SWTOR. Play it on occasion, but my time with the game has passed. This video remains up because I do think that SWTOR is great if you have never played it, or haven't played in about 5 years. However for existing, veteran players the game has little to offer. It's moved ownership, and that has gone poorly. I can't support the current development of SWTOR. I was never paid to make swtor videos, so I know this may seem like an abrupt change. You can find out more on my 2nd channel "NobleplaysMMOs".
WTF are you talking about lol, if they game would have stayed with bioware it would have died, they were using profits from SWTOR to fund other projects. Its the same dev team running the game and now the money is well spent, we get bigger updates with less wait time between each
I started playing about a month ago starting with sith warrior playthrough absolutely fantasic and im now doing smuggler playthrough. I love Star Wars and this is the only MMORPG game i've played and im hooked on it.
@@chaoticallypureevilyeah can confirm as someone who just started at the beginning of 2022, once you completed all the story available to you, that's where the honeymoon phase ends.
The claims of SWTORs death started seconds after launch I think;) Maybe even before. We are now many Life Days down the swoop track. The game has great storylines and voice acting. Movie style conversations are a big plus in my view, but the cost of making those probably was a major reason for limited content updates over the years. To fully enjoy a game I must have a goodly amount of character customization. SWTOR definitely makes the grade. SWTOR is a Star Wars RPG that happens to be a MMO. It is not a MMO that happens to be in the Star Wars universe. Players who really focus heavily on PvP and/or end game operations (raids) always were disappointed, because a lot of the game development effort/focus was .... not those things.
Back in ~2008-2010 my SWG and LOTRO buddies were telling me to not get my hopes up for the upcoming "Dead Game" Star Wars MMO. Some of those guys are still playing SWTOR with me today.
This is what I'm seeing. Ive been playing WoW since vanilla and the one thing I HATE about WoW is the story and the fact your character is meaningless in the plot. The one thing it does well is end game content. There are guilds for everything and they are HIGHLY active and you can always find a different guild. SWTOR has great storytelling and the main class storylines are all good, and your character is the center of the story progress. The one thing I hate is doing flashpoints with others because someone will always type "HIT SPACEBAR". I get it tho, I rapid tap spacebar for all of the ones ive done. I finally got a character to 80 this week and I kinda hate it. I feel so incredibly weak in flashpoints, im always close to death. The story seems a little weak, I'm on a pirate planet looking for Revan who's working with slavers.
SWTOR is also dumped with a graveyard company now and not really creating content of any substance. Compare to ESO and FFXIV in terms of subscribers. That should be a good chuckle.
30 min of story released every 6 months… there not focused on story development either so no Swtor isn’t an RPG that happen to be an mmo it’s just an mmo with a dev team that made every bad decisions for years.
@@Koppa_Cabana Updates have been weak for years, but the game is certainly a RPG and an MMO. However you want to slice the pie, one of the slices is RPG even if that piece of the pie is smaller than many people would like. Why it happened the way it has is a fun debate, but I think the "devs" (which I see as the designers, engineers, artists, writers etc) did what they could with the resources they were given. The budgets came from above them from people who I wouldn't call "devs", though I know some people would call something like EA and every single subsidiary and every single employee therein the "devs".
Same, I did joined a guild in swtor, but after a few weeks not really talking quit the guild, then quit the game, because I did not want to accidentally be recognized by any of my guild members and be judged lmao. Now a year later im thinking of transfering to another server and playing again. Stupid brain.
I solo for the same reason. And I'm not a sweat. I've came back to playing this game again after a few years. Seems people get pissy (in my experience) when you're not on discord for a group run. And they want peak optimal toons in their group. Maybe I've just run across a few bad eggs, but that's why I solo.
1:06 - I love this game but this feature is what really keeps it alive for me if im being honest. Its baffling to me how you can have a galaxy so large, with so many races, factions and specializations and yet there's only one game with an in-depth character creator? Disney wants SO bad to keep Star Wars locked to the movies it hurts.
"Shadow of Revan" was the start of them cramming new content into grindy flashpoints (which have no "checkpoints"), and erased your origin titles for Outlander or something similar. That chapter's end was very cliche "Sith and Jedi must put their differences aside to kill the great threat of the emperor". Then like a Marvel movie, Republic and Empire main characters pop out side by side, then attack the Emperor together.
I liked everything story-wise with SoR and Emperor's numerous deaths, but I hate flashpoint content. It usually comes down to: "String of dialogue > you must go to this flashpoint and beat the big bad final boss > final string of dialogue and end of the chapter." This is such a boring formula. They couldn't think of any better plotlines for the chapters except that you just have to go and kill someone on every mission, with the story progression really being only the secondary focus.
I played SWTOR the moment it became F2P, but struggled with all the limitations. I came back about 10 years later (lol) and love the changes they made towards solo players and F2P. Just coming from KOTOR 1 and 2, I'm pretty happy with the story!
I've been playing SWTOR for about 2 years and a half now. I'm mostly for the solo content, but I have started to get more into group content, like the World Bosses and flashpoints in groups instead of soloing with the best droid companion of all time. And I never miss a chance to interact with the guild members, sharing our common love for Star Wars. Starting to build the courage for PVP content! Thank you for your input, Noble! It's nice to follow the different perspectives of the content creators surrounding SWTOR and creators, like you, inspires one to log in to the game every day! :)
@@Undergroud.Productions ALt+F3 and then add filter then choose sharpen+. Id suggest textures at 100% and sharpen around 40% area for good definition. I didnt realize this either and its a huge game changer!
I played this game since its launch. However, I find it very disappointing since the end of KotET and KotFE expansions. You are talking about doing group content yet there is no incentive to do it. Dungeons are mostly pointless. Raids are done on the easiest difficulty with only 2-3 guilds doing heroics on the server. There is no point in doing harder difficulty when you can obtain the best gear from running normals. Also, the best gear doesn't make you feel strong. You may kill mobs just a few seconds faster but that's it. I may be wrong things might have changed since then (I haven't played for a year). BUT. What I hate absolutely most are these story content updates that add 20 minutes of story content that are something like this: 2-3 enemies every 10 meters, then some dialogue, you find nothing, you learn nothing, the story moves nowhere, everyone and everything is mysterious and you have to wait half a year for another clue, another patch that repeats the same thing. It's been like this since onslaught xpac. New class design is lazy as hell. They promote it ''you can play however you want now!'' which is a huge pile of bs. They could have at least adjusted the ability design for certain combos so they would make more sense. I wrote so much and I haven't even mentioned gigantic inflation, outdated GTN, and Cartel Market. I was like ''dang I should give SWTOR a chance'' after watching your video but then I started writing this essay and I remembered why I left in the first place. Sadge.
This is actually a spot on review I think for a returning player there’s very little reason to play it again. For a new player on the other hand I think this game is definitely a Star Wars fan dream
I think its strange when people call swtor a dead game. Steam charts says its on around 6.7k players daily average, and that doesnt account for the reasonable amount of players who use the OG launcher. For a game this old and a genre like this, thats a fine player count. Its also very stable at this player count.
Number of ppl who use og launcher isn't that huge. And what do you think those 6.7k players are doing? They just come for daily login rewards thus they get registered to system as "active players". And few will stay on fleet just to afk.
I decided yesterday that a return to SWTOR was imminent and went on the prowl for newly made videos about the state of the game. As a Founder I've been in and out of the game for a long time, I have 2 accounts and now I will make a third one to get a 100% fresh start without any cartel coins and unlocks. My plan is focusing on one class instead of hunting for the legendary player title like I did last time I made a fresh start. Imperial Agent story is so much fun and Operative is my favorite stealther, period. Thank you for the vidjah, it was informative 👍🏻
I appreciate you making this video. I was a fan of this game when it first launched I’ve seen it up and downs and I’ve been back-and-forth playing it ever since at least once a year I tackle this game for a few months to see what is changed. The part, you mention about solo players, missing out on some great experiences is true, but I feel like it is a double edged sword. On one hand yes, those experiences in groups are amazing and something you will remember probably for the rest of your life, but on the other hand , as you get older and have less time to play, it’s harder to have groups like that because everybody is on their own schedule. The only way around that is to play in a huge guild with tons of players who are online at any given time. from what I’ve experienced over 24 years of playing these type of games is that the people recruiting tend to recruit during certain time periods, which is why you get huge influx of players during those periods, and then the guild becomes very quiet during other times. That kind of ties in with your whole , finding the right guild part might take some time.
As mediocre as the latest updates have been the game overall, especially for a new player, provides a unique experience with tons of enjoyable story content that can easily get you hooked in this era of Star Wars. Yes, the newest stuff about Malgus and the Mandalorians drag on, but I wouldn't let an update that far away stop me from experiencing all the class stories and the original planets your characters visit. Hell, there's a chance people won't even get that far storywise. There's just so much content to keep you hooked for a good while, it will take time to go through it all, especially the more recent updates. It's one of these games you just wish you could experience for the first time all over again.
As a eso vet, swtor is my next fave and It would have been my first but all my life I never had a pc. But I got one now and the wife and I are having tons of fun with it
Bring back memories. Loved this game a lot, spend hundread of hours on it and had blast! .. many years ago. Got through every class, loved PvP, raided.. was one helluva ride :D My last update was Revan one. After that my guild somehow dissolved and there was not much more fore me to do :-(
I like that quote at 4:53 “It’s a Star Wars game first, MMO second” it perfectly encapsulates this game for me. Personally? I haven’t even touched Operations, PVP and the like. Many because I find it nerve wracking, but the fact there’s so much for me to do outside of that is amazing.
I played from early access to about 2019, briefly played for a bit in 2021 and haven't touched it since, but been getting the itch to play again hence why I'm here seeing if there's anything new going on
I’m brand new to the game, I’ve got about 95 hours so far in a few weeks of playtime, and I’m having a blast. Been playing wow since I was a kid and have always loved Star Wars, never gave this game a chance. And by god the sith warrior campaign alone made me fall in love with this game, it truly is a fantastic game so far, haven’t gotten to endgame so I’m not too sure what’s in store in that part, but I’m already in a guild who was super welcoming and actually kept me engaged with them. Something I haven’t experienced in wow for ages.
As someone who has played on this game both solo and playing with other people like PVP can be fun, the one thing that I about playing it solo is that i can create a back story to the characters that I've made for the story line. I remember that i used to spend a lot of money on the game to get the Revan outfit.
I also play this game since beta, so for 10 yrs + it was really great experience and ofc it's like one of a kind for how strongly u can feel the freedom of doing whatever u like in the game 😁
Can't wait to get back to this game with the new lighting and some textures. I'm wrapping up Baldur's Gate 3 right now and since I'm trying not to jump onto Rogue Trader before some expansions to it come out, SWTOR should keep me invested for a few months at least.
I just started playing SWTOR again after a good number of years (7) and I'm really enjoying it again. They've done great with adding the secondary class.
Has there been any discussion in the community about SWTOR moving over to UE5 or a similar engine? The game needs that and it will be a contender again.
Never going to happen, just as a console port is also never going to happen for the same reason. It's been discussed for the better part of a decade and it's just not possible to change engine while keeping the game as it is. The overwhelming majority of the systems would need to be completely rewritten from scratch and that's just something that they can't afford to do because by that point it would just make more sense to make SWTOR2, which is also never going to happen. We're stuck with an engine that not even the original creators (Hero Engine) are supporting anymore and the best they can do is just keep slowly updating it themselves as time goes on.
@@ChaosZero. which is exactly why I stopped playing after their abysmal tenth anniversary release. They need to remake the game in a modern engine, port the story, planets, etc all over, and zero creativity is even needed. Everyone currently playing the game is just rehashing the exact same storylines and content over and over anyways, so at least make it appealing to future players by updating it. Otherwise, the game will slowly die no matter how dedicated the fan base is.
To someone who is arriving now in swtor, the game will feel amazing. To someone like me, already at endgame with all the classes, it's quite painful to wait for 15 minute of new story content every year.
Loved this post Noble, The game got better for me when I changed my mindset! I been playing since start-up and come and go depending on my moods and yes I'm a bit starwars fan and even now talk Star-wars with my Grand-girl.
I had fun playing SWTOR on and off at different points of its life. The last time I played this was 2020 and I completed basically everything I could do on a couple of characters PvE and mainstory wise. I played a ton of pvp when the game came out and was hugely successful at it. In 2020, I took a look at some streams and videos for the "new" arena and oh boy...it was so toxic, filled with intentional throwing and straight up gatekeeping that I never even attempted a single game. If PvP wasn't approachable for a returning player who was successful in the PvP they played, I could only imagine a new player playing...I'm not sure if making PvP unranked again was the play, but maybe it is. Hearing that the game still exists in pre-disney Star Wars is also a breath of fresh air if its actually true.
PvP is fine now. Ranked is gone. PvP is only unapproachable for those who. Don’t respect the game honestly. Many people (including myself) will happily teach new players if they want to learn. But if they have no interest in learning then it’s fair game
I started this game at its launch and ive taken numerous breaks from it, but im back playing it again now and still loving it simply for that good old Star Wars fix. Ive played every class story on both Imperial and Republic and ive done complete DLC content on 3 of my alts. As long as this game stays alive il keep returning to it :)
I sold my PC a few years ago. I need to get another one and this will be one of the games I come back to. 2000’s was Kotor 1-2, 2010’s was tor and 2020’s is ESO. I miss the days of Star Wars. The late night operations. The music and ambience of the planets (nar shaddaa) while falling asleep at the keyboard. If I come back to it it’ll be with a more casual mindset.
I got this game day one. played it for a few years straight. then i kind of stopped playing sometime after the fallen empire came out. but every once in a while i come back for a bit. to me swtor is my feel good game. no matter what what when i come back i always feel at home. just resubbed a few days ago and i love it!
Its funny, i've always said most of your videos were fairly negative towards Swtor, but im glad you've had a change of heart! Both for yourself, and the tone of your videos!!! Look forward too watching more of them now!
The biggest disappointment for me was the last expansion. Knowing that the game was probably at its highest point in social media, with videos getting millions of views, only for a worst case scenario to happen on launch. I just beg for one last big bang expansion. One at the scale of the original stories. As unrealistic as it is, it will not stop me for wishing. I really love this game. Just by playing it i get happy.
Anyone has idea how in the hell we can make an account? I ve tried everything but that display name always says it doesn t work on account registration.
I stopped playing for almost 4 years cause I was still young and had a potato laptop. I started playing and watched a bunch of guides and what really hit me was when you said the game is solo-able cause it reminded me of how many times I had to die 😂
I played near release for about 5 months before I went back to World of Warcraft and never picked it up again. I just started playing again about a few weeks ago, and I honestly regret not putting more time into it considering im a big star wars fan. It has come a long way and the amount of content for me to explore makes my head spin. Also the fact that its consistently the most played Star Wars game on steamcharts easily debunks the common belief that its dead or dying
Man I never finished a class story in the early days but do have the collectors box here on my shelf. My life changed a lot when it was released and I wasn't able to play then. You made me reinstall it and want to finally dive in and finish some stories and maybe dip a bit into multiplayer. Thanks.
so many gems in this video, but i really appreciate a person who can look back on old perspectives and admit their views have broadened since then. uwu
awesome video and i totally agree. I stopped playing shortly after launch and got back into the game in March of last year and have been having so much fun taking in all the game has to offer. This game is a must if you are a Star Wars fan and the community is very good like u said.
does anyone know how to fix my problem ive been a returning player for years and when i login it says the servers are down and go to twitter but when i go to the website it says my acount is suspended so anyone know a fix?
6:21 THANK YOU I genuinely think it’s the people who have played the game since it came out or for nearly a decade that are the most frustrated with it. Which isn’t good, I mean a game shouldn’t alienate its veteran players and I’m sure end game content gets repetitive. However, I’ve been playing this game off an on for 3 and half years, and I find the “game has gone downhill” content frustrating and demotivating, and not super helpful to people like me, who still feel like a newbie despite playing so much. Because this game is dense, there is so much to do and I’ve barely scratched the surface. Yes, it’s important to call out bad leadership decisions, and I’m sure people have very valid reasons to complain, but I also think overall negative content breeds more negativity. If people are super negative about the game, and people start to generally see and believe no one wants to play it anymore, I don’t see how that will drive the people in charge to make better decisions. Maybe it will make them get their act together, but it’s also just as likely to make them do something desperate and dumb
My biggest problem with SWTOR is the lack of replayable story mission. If I return I have to make a new character or watch youtube to get a recap of my personal story :\ I whould argue SWTOR is the most storydriven mmo right above FFXIV and even FFXIV got this feature.
What are you talking about? You can play any part of the story you want outside of the first 3 chapters of the vanilla story. Nobody comes back and makes a new character just to get caught up on story. I’ve never heard of that, unless I’m totally misunderstanding you
The 2 things that's been holding me off are the UX and fight system. Could we just get the story, role play and exploration of TOR, but with a gameplay as tight and fluid as Jedi Survivor?
i wanna come back to this game but i had the collectors edition and was a founder i had to log in with a key generator every time, i have no idea where that is now or if i would have to even use it :P but my character was the true sith species now its locked behind a wall? i wonder if the collector special shops are still there to get the jabba princess Leia outfit
I came back to SWTOR like a week ago and I cannot complain. I have no idea if expansions are good or not but what I know is I'm enjoying the contebt so far. The playerbase is declining when we take a look at it, yes, but which MMO's isn't?
Subscribed. Damn, Homie. I love playing this game and I love that you are giving it a fair shake. I have been playing as long as you but never rated pvp. Then I see you say it in vid. Just got a new sub.
I played swtor since 2012 too, my best times were when dread fortress and dread palace came up that was probably MMORPG peak, and from main story peak i would say probably kotfe and kotet got really close to original main story. First expansion rise of the hutt cartel wasn't good because ppl know this expansion for ''swtor is now f2p'' and revan expansion? wasn't that good either, i like both operations, but overall expansion was kinda weak + gearing system was long time very big problem... But original game was perfect in terms of story at least for Knight, Warrior, Inquisitor, Imperial Agent (others were just weaker) Content tierlist overall: S+ tier: Original story S tier KOTFE and KOTET (huge thanks to writers who got balls to create something new) A tier Onslaught B tier Hutt cartel, Shadow of Revan C tier Legacy of the Sith (sorry but latest expansion was weakest, great trailer but reality is just different, milking malgus instead to do something new) PS: I will wait for another Valkorion, Tenebrae, Vitiate reincarnation :D But i will keep eye on swtor, because i want to see where Broadsword but i don't have high hopes sadly.
I played this game since it first came out, it was the best mmorpgs i ever played, and met tons of great people along the way. It had the best raids and pve content you will ever find. This game had so much potential to be even better then it already was. But after so long of playing i had to let it go. But it will be missed, and hopefully one day we get another swtor down the road with updated graphics.
I'm relatively new to this game, but I've always loved the kotor universe. KOTOR is still my favorite game ever made. This game is in my top five. I played on an absolute potato PC for probably around 200 hours and then I stopped. I just recently bought a PC with a 2080 super just to play this game. I see 1000's of hours in this game for me
@user-dl6ku7sf3c The gameplay is still great to me. I replay it every few years. It's a crpg, not an action rpg. Games inspired by D&D aren't for everyone, though. It's like baldur's gate 3.
I'm a "boomer" (Gen X), "offline gamer" at heart. (Never got into MMOs) I'm also a Star Wars fan since childhood. So, I've always wanted to play SWTOR (looks fun) while simultaneously hesitant to do so.
You can take the "offline" approach with SWTOR and play solo and literally have hundreds if not thousands of hours worth of content. You would only need the best raid gear to do actual raiding, the rest is doable with quest gear and/or upgrades from the galactic market. I have called SWTOR the best single player mmo out there for years, it's worth playing for the class stories alone. Imperial Agent is generally considered to be the best one (and my favorite) and anyone saying otherwise is wrong 😁 Give it a whirl, I don't think you will be disappointed in the solo aspect of it and if you ever want to dip your toes into raiding there will always be a guild somewhere that will take you. Have fun!
I've not played for a few years. I do have a tendency to come back and run the newer content when I feel like it's worth it, but my time is much more limited and I can't commit to a guild or endgame things.
SWTOR is one of the best mmorpgs in the world. Stupid mainstream gaming media dont play mmorpgs so they dont know. So thats very cool to see there videos like this on yt :)
The biggest problem is still them abandoning class specific story lines! Mainly, because it destroys immersion, but also because it lost replayability. Please! Redcon this!!!
i was always solo player for a long time barely did pvp and when i did, i wasnt ez start to understand HOWEVER started playing with my brother it started to get fun but and sadly we started to get to a point of what to do now, we dont play with guilds we did all stories and now we are aldults we dont have time to gear up our mains for pvp so what can we do now or even what can i do now when i am by myself free from work? do you know any mmorpg similiar to swtor in gameplay wise and that has an interesting story?
I think the reason why SWTOR is still going strong is because it's not being held back with making it's own stories without adhering to the current canon that the new games are following, So since this will remain in the Legends continuity it will continue to thrive while all the other games are follow the established canon of the Star Wars galaxy.
If they remove maximum credits cap or increase it few millions for preferred players they can have more people online and buy microtransactions or even sub again.
U have a video or something about How to play Expansions? Idk how and i want to play it but i dont know How xD Pd: or where i need to go or something like that haha
Love SW, had nice time while i was playing. Tho, somehow i ended in WoW more than in SW because most people i knew played WoW. Think will get back and play some other class stories.
finally a video about swtor that isn't just talking about how terrible it is and how it should have died years ago or whatever. thanks for actually pointing out the best parts of the game that haven't just disappeared
The player character becomes a verbal and physical punching bag and side character/errand boy/girl for the actual main characters in the story in the newer content from eternal throne/fallen empire and onwards. They become absolutely pathetic. Getting casually tossed around and beaten by friend and foe alike, running for their lives like cowards, spoken down to by the main characters with no ability to respond in kind. The writing and dialogue is horrible and fanfic level cringe after the older content(new "writers" most likely). If you're going to play the game, just play the original class stories and older expansions and then uninstall. The player is a random nobody and a pathetic, underpowered, gofer side character after that point.
Wait I swear I used to watch you years back when I played swtor everyday n then you switched to eso I think Idk if it’s the same dude but if it is you was one of my fav swtor creators as a kid 😭
When this was first out a mate recommended it to me but didn't have enough spare cash to buy it, then it went F2P and I got it and loved it enough to sub instead of warcraft some months, yet over time I spotted it becoming as homogenised and with no challenge as live warcraft....I literally haven't played in at least 3 years cos of that. Esp when I found out about them doing the same as wow with talents too all I can think of is I guess i'll have to settle for the memory of Sith evil fun. Every so often like today I google classic servers for it but nope ;/
I really wish either 1. SWTOR had more of an ESO combat 2. ESO has more of the SWTOR storytelling/ morality system 3. SWTOR had stealing like in ESO 4. ESO has lightsabers Both games have amazing communities, housing systems, great outfit/transmogs. They are both almost perfect
The game is fun. Story is the best in any MMO Game ever released. That alone is replay worthy over 100 times. As far as PVP goes who cares. It's either you love it or you don't. Been playing since 2013. I am a founder and always come running back to the game. Game is far from dead, servers are packed everyday just saying!!
@@HikingFeral You clearly not a fan and thats ok. I have over 1000 hours in this game and have over 500 hours in FFXIV and there is no way your tell me that it has a better story than SWTOR. In no way is FFXIV immersive like SWTOR. I'm sorry but I highly disagree. One of the greatest strengths of SWTOR is its storytelling. With a wide range of class-specific quests and expansive main storylines, the game keeps players engaged with its well-crafted narratives that allow you to make impactful choices throughout your play through. I'm not even gonna touch on GW2 🤣
Broadsword hasn't done much with the other mmos that they own, they're basically stuck in time, so I'm curious to see if swtor gets the same treatment or not. Only time will tell. We'll know in about a year or two.
This might sound weird for some players, but i actually enjoy pvp. I've played a lot of mmos and I never touch pvp cause of all the abilities that are on my screen. I just wish the game was more active and they have solo que for pvp. Also galactic starfighter is super fun imo
Played at launch and just last week my wife and I circled around to giving the game another try, mostly as a trip down memory lane. We're having a blast playing and introducing a friend who never played to the game. The one BIG complaint I have about the game is all the micro monetization's that litter the interface, especially when you're in free to play mode. Let me be clear I don't think free to play mode is a rip off or that the game shouldn't be monetized to sustain itself, the game is a great value for subscribers and has a very VERY generous free to play model compared to a lot of what's out there in the MMO space. What bothers me is that there are pop up windows or buttons asking you to unlock things for hutt cartel coins all over the place so it feel like you're getting nickeled and dimed for every little thing even though most of those things you can get for credits without spending cartel coins or are included in a monthly subscription. My wife and I have been pretty accepting of it, and we planned on subbing when we first came back anyway but for our friend it's been frequently rage inducing and it's clear to see how it would turn new players away. It's unfortunate they can't have demo mode and subscription mode and turn off the cartel coin prompts when you subscribe.

@@chaoticallypureevilyeah can confirm as someone who just started at the beginning of 2022, once you completed all the story available to you, that's where the honeymoon phase ends.
are we need a subscription to play all content in this game?
How did you managed to create an account? I ve tried everything but doesn t work
The claims of SWTORs death started seconds after launch I think;) Maybe even before.
I play solo because I struggle to talk to people...
And that’s perfectly okay :)
Hey what server are you on? let's make toons together!
I love playing solo, but always love to help out. I can always help you out or group up for some heroics or flashpoints.
It usually comes down to:
"String of dialogue > you must go to this flashpoint and beat the big bad final boss > final string of dialogue and end of the chapter."
This is such a boring formula.
F2P restrictions are pretty fair now, they didnt used to be that way.
As a ‘Founder’, I find myself dropping in and out every few months 👍🏾
Same!
Too I do! Drop in, we must! Every few months, it is!
One thing that changed the game from me: using nvidea in game menu turn on the sharpen+ filter. Like turning on HD!
How make this?
@@Undergroud.Productions I think it is called Nvida GeForce Experience, you download it and once in game turn on the sharpen+ filter.
Just started the game I’m having fun but it might be because I’m a big Star Wars fan is it really that bad should I stop subbing
@@adamrodriguez8307 No you should keep your especially if you’re having fun. Problems aside the game is easily 100+ hours of gameplay
Are you still playing SWTOR?
So what you be playing now?
I have tried MANY MMOs and SWTOR and ESO are the only MMOs I've actually stuck with!
Should try Guild Wars 2, I think you would enjoy that game as well as it also has a heavy emphasis on narrative and storytelling
@@candlestyx8517 oh i have tried that already
@@candlestyx8517 guild wars 2 story has 0 value.
Same actually
I think its strange when people call swtor a dead game. Steam charts says its on around 6.7k players daily average, and that doesnt account for the reasonable amount of players who use the OG launcher. For a game this old and a genre like this, thats a fine player count. Its also very stable at this player count.
Number of ppl who use og launcher isn't that huge. And what do you think those 6.7k players are doing?
They just come for daily login rewards thus they get registered to system as "active players". And few will stay on fleet just to afk.
@@chaoticallypureevil you must be fun at parties
@@tophatowl6724 And you're just mad cuz i trashed your favorite game of the month. And told, what everyone knows to be true.
@@chaoticallypureevil brother, ive been playing this game for 11 years, your opinion means nothing to me.
I’m actually kinda shocked how stable of a community it is. Most MMOs are deserted these days.
Just started downloading it again. Thanks for the re-intro :) It's been ten years, and I'm finally going to jump in!
Well, there is no better mmo. Yeah, it's old game but damn that voice acted story with choices is just something that you don't find from other mmos.
After that my guild somehow dissolved and there was not much more fore me to do :-(
I've been wondering to jump back in for a while now after a long time and this video has definitely helped me decide to come back! ^^
Hell yeah!
The new server has been a breath of fresh air. I hope they consider creating new servers in America and Europe, with NO tranfers allowed.
I played from early access to about 2019, briefly played for a bit in 2021 and haven't touched it since, but been getting the itch to play again hence why I'm here seeing if there's anything new going on
I played back in the day when it first came out and stopped when the level cap was still 50. I just started back up this month... GREAT GAME STILL!
I played a bit after launch and just quit a couple years ago due to…reasons. I’m just really happy it’s still getting attention and updates
Hope you enjoy it!
This was a really endearing video.
You earned my subscription.
I just started playing SWTOR again after a good number of years (7) and I'm really enjoying it again. They've done great with adding the secondary class.
Has there been any discussion in the community about SWTOR moving over to UE5 or a similar engine? The game needs that and it will be a contender again.
that would be rad
It makes much more sense to do SWTOR 2, in UE5. It would be cheaper and easier
@@Aveniz well, that is what it would be, but yeah
To someone who is arriving now in swtor, the game will feel amazing. To someone like me, already at endgame with all the classes, it's quite painful to wait for 15 minute of new story content every year.
Trust me I get you
This game has given many players many good memories and i love it and i would love to try socialize but idk how
Loved this post Noble, The game got better for me when I changed my mindset!
For real!
This is the way!
Its funny, i've always said most of your videos were fairly negative towards Swtor, but im glad you've had a change of heart! Both for yourself, and the tone of your videos!!! Look forward too watching more of them now!
Glad to hear it!
I hope the developers give us a little more story with the original companions, as sith warrior, I miss talking with my wife. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Real 😂
for me swtor is the game that i play when i want some nostalgia. It was my first mmo that i really enjoyed. nothing beats it
Anyone has idea how in the hell we can make an account? I ve tried everything but that display name always says it doesn t work on account registration.
I stopped playing for almost 4 years cause I was still young and had a potato laptop. I started playing and watched a bunch of guides and what really hit me was when you said the game is solo-able cause it reminded me of how many times I had to die 😂
I want those times back
I played near release for about 5 months before I went back to World of Warcraft and never picked it up again.
Thanks.
I remember Beta Testing this game and how many changes have taken place. I have only completed the bounty hunter and Jedi Knight story though.
for really out of every star wars iv played this is the one iv played the most
so many gems in this video, but i really appreciate a person who can look back on old perspectives and admit their views have broadened since then. uwu
awesome video and i totally agree.
I’ve never heard of that, unless I’m totally misunderstanding you
@@NoblePlays If I want to play my sith warrior story again and make different choices I can do that? Last time I played that wasnt a option :\
They are still there lol
Just jumped back in - loving it. Thanks for the Info
I just wish they would add a new class or at the very least a new combat style for each class
I came back to SWTOR like a week ago and I cannot complain. I have no idea if expansions are good or not but what I know is I'm enjoying the contebt so far. The playerbase is declining when we take a look at it, yes, but which MMO's isn't?
Facts!
FFXIV continues to enjoy exponential growth. Keep up praising your starwars turd western filth.
I play solo because of RL commitments and when I can play. I did the elite raid guild thing with WoW and it feels like a second job after a while.
Subscribed. Damn, Homie. I love playing this game and I love that you are giving it a fair shake. I have been playing as long as you but never rated pvp. Then I see you say it in vid. Just got a new sub.
Glad to hear it my friend!
is this game got a update for graphics and ui elements ? if that so what is the name of that update ?
I played swtor since 2012 too, my best times were when dread fortress and dread palace came up that was probably MMORPG peak, and from main story peak i would say probably kotfe and kotet got really close to original main story.
First expansion rise of the hutt cartel wasn't good because ppl know this expansion for ''swtor is now f2p'' and revan expansion? wasn't that good either, i like both operations, but overall expansion was kinda weak + gearing system was long time very big problem...
But original game was perfect in terms of story at least for Knight, Warrior, Inquisitor, Imperial Agent (others were just weaker)
Content tierlist overall:
S+ tier: Original story
S tier KOTFE and KOTET (huge thanks to writers who got balls to create something new)
A tier Onslaught
B tier Hutt cartel, Shadow of Revan
C tier Legacy of the Sith (sorry but latest expansion was weakest, great trailer but reality is just different, milking malgus instead to do something new)
PS: I will wait for another Valkorion, Tenebrae, Vitiate reincarnation :D
But i will keep eye on swtor, because i want to see where Broadsword but i don't have high hopes sadly.
due to health issues I am limited to solo not my choice but I can do most content good
I played this game since it first came out, it was the best mmorpgs i ever played, and met tons of great people along the way.

Just started my first play through, would love people to play with!
This MMO was awesome. It had low moments, but it still remained strong. It was never as ruined as many other MMOs.
I'm a "boomer" (Gen X), "offline gamer" at heart. (Never got into MMOs)
I'm also a Star Wars fan since childhood. So, I've always wanted to play SWTOR (looks fun) while simultaneously hesitant to do so.
It’s worth it. You should play it before it’s gone
It is definitely worth it, started as a solo player and it still felt like a great adventure
Imperial Agent is generally considered to be the best one (and my favorite) and anyone saying otherwise is wrong 😁
Give it a whirl, I don't think you will be disappointed in the solo aspect of it and if you ever want to dip your toes into raiding there will always be a guild somewhere that will take you.
Have fun!
I've not played for a few years. I do have a tendency to come back and run the newer content when I feel like it's worth it, but my time is much more limited and I can't commit to a guild or endgame things.
That’s what happens when we grow up
For all its faults and age, there is soooo much depth!
SWTOR is one of the best mmorpgs in the world. Stupid mainstream gaming media dont play mmorpgs so they dont know. So thats very cool to see there videos like this on yt :)
ToR vet since 2015. I appreciate your insight and your work, and YES this game is great!
There are none like it. I could argue that Lord of the Rings Online comes close but it's very different, however worth a look if you never played it.
Great to see you back and making videos on SWTOR again!
I think the reason why SWTOR is still going strong is because it's not being held back with making it's own stories without adhering to the current canon that the new games are following, So since this will remain in the Legends continuity it will continue to thrive while all the other games are follow the established canon of the Star Wars galaxy.
Agreed. Thansk to swtor being non canon, we now have the eternal throne story line, and even Darth Malgus.
If they remove maximum credits cap or increase it few millions for preferred players they can have more people online and buy microtransactions or even sub again.
U have a video or something about How to play Expansions? Idk how and i want to play it but i dont know How xD
Pd: or where i need to go or something like that haha
do you stream on twitch or youtube and when?
stream on youtube. anytime from 5-8pm east on week nights when i have time
Love SW, had nice time while i was playing.
I try my best friend
The player character becomes a verbal and physical punching bag and side character/errand boy/girl for the actual main characters in the story in the newer content from eternal throne/fallen empire and onwards.
They become absolutely pathetic. Getting casually tossed around and beaten by friend and foe alike, running for their lives like cowards, spoken down to by the main characters with no ability to respond in kind. The writing and dialogue is horrible and fanfic level cringe after the older content(new "writers" most likely).
If you're going to play the game, just play the original class stories and older expansions and then uninstall.
The player is a random nobody and a pathetic, underpowered, gofer side character after that point.
do i need to be subcribe to the game to play I have been subcribe so I unlock all the DLC?
You can play for free. If you subscribe once, you unlock all the expansions forever.
Had the game on steam not plays since like 2 or 3 year do I still have my save and character 😅😂
Wait I swear I used to watch you years back when I played swtor everyday n then you switched to eso I think Idk if it’s the same dude but if it is you was one of my fav swtor creators as a kid 😭
The one and only
When this was first out a mate recommended it to me but didn't have enough spare cash to buy it, then it went F2P and I got it and loved it enough to sub instead of warcraft some months, yet over time I spotted it becoming as homogenised and with no challenge as live warcraft....I literally haven't played in at least 3 years cos of that. Esp when I found out about them doing the same as wow with talents too all I can think of is I guess i'll have to settle for the memory of Sith evil fun.
Every so often like today I google classic servers for it but nope ;/
I really wish either
1. SWTOR had more of an ESO combat
2. ESO has more of the SWTOR storytelling/ morality system
3. SWTOR had stealing like in ESO
4. ESO has lightsabers
Both games have amazing communities, housing systems, great outfit/transmogs. They are both almost perfect
as a alltime gold player, this makes me wanna come back to the game
Dooo it
The game is fun. Story is the best in any MMO Game ever released. That alone is replay worthy over 100 times. As far as PVP goes who cares. It's either you love it or you don't. Been playing since 2013. I am a founder and always come running back to the game. Game is far from dead, servers are packed everyday just saying!!
The story is nowhere near as good as FFXIV, even GW2 has a better story but it is good.
I'm not even gonna touch on GW2 🤣
started playing on the deck looks great we will see how far i make it
Not very far you can throw pve,pvp and raiding out of window and stay on storymode and buy cosmetics and then wonder why game sucks.
Pvp is King 👑
You can queue solo!
Just sub, so worth it. I believe those popups remind the player when they hit some kind of limitation that subbing will remove said limitation
I should get back into the game, I got a ton of awesome cosmetics and still have about 2 billion credits
Do ittttt
Yeah you really do get your $ worth. For basically 50 cents a day you have TONS of options and TONS to do.
