  • Second event in a Midlands roundtable series on Creative Health, hosted on Thursday 13th June 2024 at Royal Derby Hospital.
    At this in-person event we discussed how we can maintain and lift the wellbeing of our health and cultural workforce, and explored the place of Creative Health activities and approaches in shifting the cultures of healthcare towards something more replenishing, joyful, and person-centred.
    Special guests included:
    -Bex Bailey-McHale, University of Chester/ University Centre Shrewsbury, discussing Creative Health Nursing Placements.
    -Paul Crawford, University of Nottingham, discussing how arts and humanities research can inform and transform healthcare, health, and wellbeing.
    Matt Longley, 6ftfrom, discussing how creative organisations can develop a healthy culture, which prioritises the wellbeing of their workforce.
    Ananta Dave, Black Country ICB and Doctors in Distress, discussing how ICBs can creatively support their local workforce.
    Ruth Mills, Designs in Mind, discussing how Creative Health organisations can develop a wellbeing culture that differs from traditional mental health services.
    Chaired by: Laura Waters, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton and National Arts in Hospitals Network, discussing how Arts in Hospitals teams can support workforce wellbeing.
    After an initial discussion between our roundtable participants, audience members were invited to join the conversation, via questions and comments.
