As a lvl 27 veno hard support spammer, I approve of this guide. Thanks Zach for these educational free guides. It truly reflects your passion towards the dota community
@@thecrystalblue23 Of course and it highly depends on the itemization. As Zach mentioned, veno really thrives on long drawn out fights, so getting items to kite around like wind waker can be helpful. Ever since the change to universal hero, and if u are playing POS 4 with the intention to scale , u can consider some right click items like pike or potentially building your Atos into glep.
Having the aghanims on veno pop off right after they guardian Greaves is such a nice feeling when damage just keeps racking up, I love the new veno feel rather than the jump in and die old ult
I've had an insane amount of 'supports' in low tiers just feeding like 30 wards to the enemy offlaner. crazy how little they are respecting the amount of gold they give. thanks for the guide!
Ive played so much veno 4-5 i could make a whole list of when to max each skill, Lesale is such a versatile hero he can do a lot of different builds/spells
I've had success against LC actually, especially building pavise and solar crest. If he's not already obscenely fed you have enough armor to survive the duel if it's an even fight and you don't do enough damage for their blademail to matter.
LC is a farm heavy offlaner though so if you can manage to screw her timing on blink and avoid feeding the important first few kills then her farming after laning stage will really grief her team. Just can't let it go ultra late but that's always true against an LC.
What I found interesting was during tower sieges you said to make sure to place the wards outside of tower range so they kill the creeps faster. now I understand this logic but my theory was to put the ward melee to the tower so they are targeted and killed. They don't do much damage to the tower but offer tank so the siege creep can stay alive longer or just the large wave in general.
That can be fine too, it really depends on the situation. The safest approach is to have more wards outside the tower to protect you. The less protection you feel you need, the more you can place wards under the tower to do damage/tank to take the tower faster.
Hi mate, this content is top tier. It’s reminiscent of early Purge with the detail you go into with spells, uses and even maths. Thanks. Any chance you could do a similar video for Dark Willow? I’ve been wanting to try but don’t know where to start!
Nice guide. Was spamming 4/5 veno before .33 and I picked up a couple of tips from this vid. One thing I do sometimes, if it looks like level 1 is going to be quite passive in lane and you can outrange the enemy, I like to get poison sting lvl 1 and then sometimes you can whittle down the enemy to get an easy kill the second you hit lvl 2. If you play it right it gives you a big resource lead for the first lvl. Gotta be careful though if the enemy makes a play you can't do much to stop it. Keep making the good vids.
Veno is a lot of fun to spam, especially since dispel heroes are seen often and your shard and aghs is extremely useful, I love heroes who are versatile in builds like Veno. His wards are easily the best mid game ability, the increased amount of high ground areas in this patch are easy to scout and you ruin Blink heroes with the wards. One thing about Veno is you die a lot, or perhaps I just die a lot lol, especially after Aghs I just dive head first, don't think I've hit 25 on Veno support, I think I only saw it once in like 15 matches.
I am in a low bracket and interesting thoughts on taking gale first. I have always taken sting first due to the DOT gives extra damage for early harass without the mana issues. Typical gale will not lead to an early kill but at lvl two there is the potential to get a kill if you hit your timing ahead of the opposition, and your early harass has worked. Great guide and great underated hero, shame about the late game drop off but is similar for most supports it seems.
More slow, more auto attacks i guess. Much valuable as theyre instinct is not to man up against gale status. Youll get 2-4 free hits as they try to run away at lvl 1
Awesome vid as always. Any weird interactions with Latent Toxicity we should be worried about? What happens with Doppelganger, Eul and such that the target cannot be damaged or stunned by the time the dispel is applied?
Love Veno, lane dominator, max poison sting and win your core free lane, nothing can stand against it except some matchups with quick and easy dispells.
i know this is a noob comment but are there any build changes you would make in turbo? e.g. spirit vessel timing is easier or W max might be too slow for a faster paced lane.
Are you always taking ward at level 4 instead of level 2 gale (which does about 3x the damage of level 1 gale)? I've been messing around with both builds, not sure which is better / what situations to utilize them in if any. Hero pretty much stomps the lane whatever you do, it seems edit: disregard, as I actually watched the video and found my answer lol
This is very true, I tried gale cooldown on a game that went pretty good, it was nice to kill more often but didn't help with Aghs. It did help one game though, versus PL.
Veno is my go to when I need a good Offlaner, 4th Support or Hard Support. I have yet to try him in mid lane or even hard carry. Right click damage is ok but it does require time to ramp up damage from latent poison, poison nova, Glipnir procs, and a skadi for high strength heroes. Also going full right click damage or magic damage focus both work but right click damage is needed for Offlane position.
Starting Items include 3x Tango, Poison orb, 2 branchs, 1 blood orb for Offlane. Support positions get the Circlet, 2x branches, 1 blood orb, 3x tangos and wards.
I disagree, you should definitely put wards inside tower range to push it, but you specifically want to wait until the creep wave is under tower taking the aggro, then start placing them within tower range.
But you cant build a decent amount of those in a short time. Because they Will kill your wards inside the tower. If you put them outside the range of the tower they cant contest your push easily, and has more defensive purpose than pushing, so you can hit the enemy tower more agresive.
Tsc… you break my heart, trample the pieces and soak the shattered remains with poison. Now I will have to deal with well informed support enemy playing this cancer of a hero… =P Still, good video as always.
I really think that venomancer is way less useful in the mid-late game when almost ever1 has bkb, and with the universal meta heroes buying manta and harpoon venomancer becomes very useless in those situations. In lower ranks its fine i guess.
the videos g8t, but veno sucks... cant make him work... so many better options... cant push like jakiro, cant stun like shaker cant roam like sb, just below avg at everything...
Wassup ZQuixotix! Huge fan and I've recently played Venomancer, did all the hero advice all the warding tips you told us about...BUT I still end up losing the game so badly. Here's my match ID: 7188517820 My rank is Crusader, and I'm stuck here. I would like to think that in this match, there's no way I can overcome with my feeding DK and Spectre. Please tell me what's wrong because I wanna get out of this bracket. :( Thank you in advance kind sir!
If you want to climb rank don't play support, or any role that depends heavily on others in pub games. Play any core roles, preferably pos2 but it's a high risk high reward role. The safest role is pos3 because you can join fights early and keep the enemy from focusing on your carry. Pos1 also depends a lot on other players, specifically on pos5 but it's possible to win if you managed to farm though it will be difficult.

Can venom pos 5 deal good in late game, cuz i mostly lose when it comes to >30’

Man, I've been wanting to learn veno. Great timing!

Finally Veno guide.
Great video

A good veno player will only use lvl1 wards for vision or to outplay with blocks
Support players are the best! Would love more “How to play…” vids from you!
I was trying out veno these days and I was doing a lot of things right but a lot of things wrong as well. Thanks for clarifiying which was which
Ive played so much veno 4-5 i could make a whole list of when to max each skill, Lesale is such a versatile hero he can do a lot of different builds/spells
Cheers to the best and most consistent high level dota 2 support content creator out there. Always a pleasure!
Great video!
Omnifuckingknight. Whenever I plan on using Veno, he's my priority ban. And I would be queueing a fast shard just for that fucker.

@@NastiN8D Good point, I'll have to start prioritizing pavise in that case

just discovering your channel, loving the video guide so far, keep it up !
Nice timing. I just picked up this hero a couple of days ago, vid answered a lot of questions i had. tyty
just getting into dota these are super helpful. Would appreciate a techies support guide very much

For 11:23, would you recommend the vampire fangs? I feel like with all the DOT from venomancer, spell lifesteal is good.
Excellent guide.
Hope to see more content like this.
not even gonna lie i went from legend 2 to (almost) ancient 1 because of this guide. i can drop my dotabuff for proof

Yeah Veno dies a lot, it's not just you. But it sure is satisfying when enemy heroes die after they've already killed you lol.
Man i really thought i was trash and dying alot.. I might still be trash tho lol

PL gets stunned after doppel, insane counter. Not sure about eul, will try that out
Only procs damage, no stun against euls.
Lets goo thank you to the best dota2 teacher
I usually go a 1-2-4 build, max wards early on is monstrous pressure before they become way too easily destroyed
Love Veno, lane dominator, max poison sting and win your core free lane, nothing can stand against it except some matchups with quick and easy dispells.

I just started spamming veno. Awesome timing
Maan what a good guide
"we still win even when we feed" sums up my experience playing support
Kukumancer, really good guide for sup.
My favourite hero for the last 8 years. Can play hyper carry if you have good positioning.
Thanks. Love and blessings.
Sad that in low mmr people gets bursted often, so long fights doesnt really exists
It does if u stand behind more, like 1.25 screen length. I die alot like 15 death each match but if I stand mode behind in can reduce to 10 or 9
For fun the Kamikaze: aghs+blade mail+(other tank item)
Great video bro
dont sleep on the vampire fangs on veno, crazy value in long fights
Hey Z i'd LOVE a Spirit Breaker vid!
Nice I'll give it a try looks fun
one reason to not get the -5s Venomous Gale CD even when you got scepter is their CD is not really synchronized, so it's not much helpful.
This is very true, I tried gale cooldown on a game that went pretty good, it was nice to kill more often but didn't help with Aghs.
It did help one game though, versus PL.
I think Zeus is the best high ground checker in the game =P i'll settle for Veno being a close second.
How do we set hot keys for the plague wards?
Just have a control group hotkey and assign them to it! Ctrl+4 for example to assign them, and then 4 selects them
My veno games always go late game for some reason 💀💀
that thumbnail 😂

so i need to spam wards
"Latent toxicity" basically sums up 1 out of 3 dota games. lol
I love spreading covid 19 with my ult. Enemies just love standing together.
i went 10/7/25 on veno but still lose due to carry
OOOOOOOOOR I could pos 3 and afk farm in the jungle till I have 5 items
