    What a rare message to hear in this day and age. I listen to puritans only because of the dullness and the lack of sharpness that cuts the heart in most modern day sermons. But this was refreshing and I’m grateful I got to listen to it.

    Your walking along not resting in your position in Christ's righteousness, and the inevitable happens, we fulfill the lust of the flesh, but not for long. We have now learned how to rest better.

      @@devothebot3008 sin shall not be your master because you are not under law but under grace.. Preaching from the old covenants isn't the way to victory. Jesus and the better covenant is the answer. If you believe you're a sinner and a saint at the same time you are being deceived. Double minded. Unstable in all your ways. Run from law preaching it kills. Run to Grace and Christ alone. He will set you free.

      @@mjack3521 The law kills those who are not in Christ and still in their sin. The law, as a born again believer, is our delight. It guides and directs us; it teaches us what pleases our Lord. The Holy Spirit and the promises of the Gospel are what empower us to be obedient unto Gods law. One of the chief promises concerning the New covenant is that God will write His law upon our hearts and give us the ability to obey it (Jeremiah 31:31-33).

      @@devothebot3008 yeah nah. The law kills. The Spirit brings life. Read 2 Cor 3. The law is done away with in Christ. The law is a guardian until Christ. The law used lawfully is to lead sinners to Christ. The law is not for the righteous but unrighteous. Paul said to those who were saved by grace why are you now turning back to the law. Christ makes us righteous not the law. We follow Christ not the law. New wine doesn't go into old skins. We are not only imputed righteousness in Christ, He imparts to us. The evidence of Christ Living in your heart is the Royal Law of Love. Religious people bang on about law. It's called legalism. The people Jesus, Paul and the church suffered persecution from the most. God is Love. He recreates us in His image.

    This is a message for unbelievers. Believers have the Holy Spirit indwelling, who keeps our sin "ever before us". The Bible says sin comes from the sinful nature: the nature we died to on the cross with Christ. No, don't have your eyes on your little sins. Keep your eyes on the cross where you died, the tomb where MY SINFULNESS WAS BURIED, THE EMPTY TOMB FROM WHICH I AROSE A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST, THE ASCENSION WHERE I WENT TO HEAVEN WITH HIM AND SIT RESTING FROM ALL THIS PREACHER IS TALKING ABOUT. "WALK IN THE SPIRIT AND YOU WILL B OT FULFILL THE LUST OF THE FLESH." GOD BRINGS TEMPTATIONS INTO OUR LIFE TO REMIND US OF THE CROSS WHERE I DIED. WE CANNOT KILL OUR OWN SIN, BECAUSE WE HAVE ALREADY DIED TO SIN. IT IS PRESUMPTUOUS SIN TO THINK WE HAVE THE STRENGTH TO KILL OUR SIN. CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS IS NOT ENOUGH. WE HAVE TO KNOW AND RECKON ON THE FACT OF OUR DEATH TO SIN WITH CHRIST.

    Nowhere in scripture does it teach that a child of God should fight sin. Maybe it is just a matter of how you worded your message. In reality our situation is "a tale of two hearts". Believers have an old heart, which is poisoned with sin and cannot be changed, and a new heart that cannot sin. The old heart has sin as its master, and the new heart has the Holy Spirit as its Master. The soul is the mediator between the two, and chooses whom to obey.

      @@stopmayhem937 This scripture nowhere suggests that a child of God should fight sin. Is there a struggle? Yes. Between the old and the new. Should a believer resist? Yes. But a believer is not taught to fight sin. Romans 6- He who has died has been set free from sin. To say one must fight sin would be to place sin in an empowered position. This is the wrong focus for a child of God.

      The soul doesn't mediate. We are living mortal souls. Christ is the only mediator between us and God. The Holy Spirit is our intercessor. Man doesn't have an immortal soul but is a mortal living soul who dies. God is the only one that has immortality and life within to give. Hence, the appointed resurrection. You can read when the two resurrections occur there's an appointed time for them.

    • @eternalsecurityofthesaints9581
      @eternalsecurityofthesaints9581 5 місяців тому

      @@doriangray7723 The emphasis is not on the divine reality, with Christ as mediator between mankind and the Father, but on the corporal reality, with the soul as the seat of self, set in between the spirit and the body. We are created in the likeness of God, making the soul eternal, either experiencing eternal life, or eternal death. Either way, the soul will exist forever, and it will always be the soul that makes the choice whom to obey.

      @eternalsecurityofthesaints9581 You, as a living mortal soul, do choose whom you will serve. Actually, biblically speaking, when you die, you return to the dust. It is likened to sleep. The dead know nothing. Lazarus shall not arise until the heavens and earth pass. The Bible is clear when this occurs and the appointed time of the resurrections is given.
