    This was probably the best sermon I've ever heard on discouragement. Biblical and practical.

    God gave you a perfect salvation, because he made you perfect in the heavenlies. We will never go quietly until we know we are already perfect

    Just woke up around 6, already discouraged & depressed as can be, truly wondering how I'm going to get through one more day and not even wanting to.
    I don't usually pick up phone & listen to stuff so early.
    But then found this. Listening now. Thank you.

      You're not alone. Getting out of bed can be the hardest part of my day. Sometimes it feels like no one else can possibly understand how hard it is to accomplish even the smallest tasks. Try to remember how Christ suffered. He knows what it's like to suffer and He suffered even worse than we can imagine. If you believe in Him, He is with you and He will never leave you. That is a great source of encouragement and it will strengthen you each day. Ask the Lord for the grace to get out of bed. Then as the day goes on, keep asking Him for grace each time you hit a roadblock. If you need to break down and let it all out, then do it. You can go to Him as often as you need, and you can cast all of it onto Him, and He will strengthen you each time. Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Wonderful, thank you. Also really loved the 'preamble' to the communion table. We're not in that prison cell anymore, hoping for that crust of bread to be slid under the door. Get up close to the peace, so you can hear the music!(31:23 and following)

    I have been going through discouragement in the past two months, I have been watching it several times, and I know it is true, but somehow I am not changing. it is ruining my life and I preach to myself but somehow my heart is not dying.

    • @ChristKirk
      @ChristKirk  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry to hear that, Gigio. Are you a member of a local church? We need brothers and sisters that can bring us encouragement and wisdom.

    Thankful for this sermon, I am dealing with sin and I do need to repent and turn from it. I haven't desired God as much lately and I've been trying to deal with everything on my own. I also, feel as though I can't bring all things to him because just like you said I already know the answer.

    Beautiful words from Doug. Ben’s point about the typical pietism hit home as well.

    But none of what Christ did on the cross makes no difference unless I died to sin with him, and was raised to heavenly places by his ascension and have Christ living through me by his glorification.

    • @PatriciaLangness-f9i
      @PatriciaLangness-f9i Місяць тому

      All of that happened to Christians. We died, we were risen to the heavenlies and his glorification was the impetus that sent Christ into our hearts

      The error of Jobs comforters was their ignorance of the heavenly gifts given to us through Christ's perfect righteousness. What happened to the Federal Vision. Nothing happened to God's perspective. He sees us as dead to sin and born again in heavenly places in our completed salvation because of Christ''s work on our behalf.

    • @PatriciaLangness-f9i
      @PatriciaLangness-f9i Місяць тому

      Guess what? We are already sanctified, and Jobs comforters should have reminded him that he is already in glory. We have been there since the foundation of the world. What happened to your Federal Vision, Pastor Wilson.

    • @PatriciaLangness-f9i
      @PatriciaLangness-f9i Місяць тому

      Our only hope of being made more like Christ on earth, is the fact that they presuppose our already finished sanctification in God's eyes.

    I've never heard anyone bring joy to communion. In Leviticus (I think) ,doesn't God have those who bring their sacrifice feast with the priests and Levites, and to do so in joy for God's mercy and the forgiveness of their sins through the sacrifice of the sheep or goat He gave in our stead?

    Don't distinguish position from earthly condition. They are one ,or there is no reason for position or condition.

    Even though this was recorded two years ago, the valuable truth contained in this sermon transcends time and is just as real and applicable today as it was on the day that it was delivered.
    Thank you, Doug. This is just what I needed today.
