FINALLY!!!! Someone recognizes that merging into lanes is like zipping up a zipper. Since we have this idea in common, I guess that makes us friends now.
It doesn't help much when people get on the freeway going 40mph. When they reach the merge point, they are surprised you are there. You don't see that in other parts of the country. Places like Wyoming, Utah, or even L.A. where speeds are much higher. People enter the freeway at speed, and merge. As someone who drives for a living. I've driven extensively throughout the U.S. Seattle area seems to be one of the worst. Drivers either drive slow where they aren't supposed to, or drive like maniacs. Along with bad habits like I mentioned earlier. All the while distracted by their phones.
As I replied to a similar comment, speaking as a paramedic in Ontario Canada, that's probably not correct. According to the Ambulance Act that determines the laws where I work, even if we're on an emergency run with lights and sirens, not only are we required to come to a complete stop at every stop sign and red light, but if we're traveling through a red light we must, by law, stop at every single lane of traffic that we're passing through. Of course in practice we never do that unless it's necessary due to oncoming traffic, but if we get in an accident while passing through a red light, it is 100% our fault. I wouldn't be surprised if American laws are similar.
Wrong. Under Washington law emergency lights and siren allow emergency vehicles to proceed through red traffic lights only after determining it is safe to do so without causing a collision with traffic that has green controls.
Having driven fire apparatus (trucks, engines, tankers, rescues, etc) and been a passenger even more times, it is expected to use caution, especially when approaching intersections and running counter flow (opposite traffic). A big however is that people hardly yield even when they notice lights and/or sirens, so it's a dangerous job even when the engineer/operator (or chauffeur as drivers are sometimes called) exercise every bit of diligence and risk assessment. Watch out, people! You won't win in a fight against a heavy truck carrying lots of equipment and water!

7. As for the emergency vehicle question, even with lights and sirens activated, an emergency vehicle may not pass through a red light or stop sign until the operator/engineer ensures all traffic has stopped to give the emergency vehicle the right of way.
@@billyd7882there are plenty of people who are unaware of this. Most just think every intersection is up to emergency responders subjectivity - and not explicitly requires full 4-way stationary traffic.
Some real "bangers" in this collection (pun intended)...I lost count of the rollovers; that seems to happen more frequently than it used to--never saw it too frequently, 25-30 years ago...Thanks for the "entertaining" collection; I recognize many of those intersections, neighborhoods!
We didn't have so many suvs/trucks 25-30 years ago. I remember all the hubub about rollovers etc back then, looks like they were right to be concerned.
AS @subjekt5577 wrote there are more suvs/trucks now but also the more rounded aerodynamic designs tend to roll and be able to cause other vehicles to roll over more easily then old styles.
FINALLY someone else says it. Seattle drivers will cut you off dangerously and flip you the bird. Bellevue drivers aren't even aware there are other drivers on the road as they make their dumb driving decisions. I once watched someone spend an entire traffic light cycle on their phone. The car in front of them drove off when the light turned green, but without someone behind them to alert the distracted driver, she didn't look up until her light was red again, and looked a bit perplexed seeing a car length gap now open. Thats not even the worst Bellevue driver story I have.
I got T-boned in the same intersection in the video at 2.01 mins. Driver headed Eastbound came through with so much confidence I thought I had run a red. What's giving the drivers the impression they don't have to stop ?
That’s insane. Red light running never made sense to me. Honestly Even if Im distracted, I’m never THAT distracted. Almost like there are people out there with crashing fetishes or something
@@oceania2385 I use that intersection a lot and there's nothing janky or wrong with the light arrangement, people are just really stupid. Since I can't see what any of the traffic lights are displaying, it's hard to determine who is at fault. However, the cars facing us in the video have their lights change a bit differently. The cars not coming off the west seattle bridge, those lanes are "left turn prohibited" and will change to green before the other two lanes that are "right turn prohibited". Both drivers weren't making illegal turns or lane changes, so it comes down to whoever ran the red.
Hahaha. That'll fix the problem for sure. Brighter colors and overhauls on the roundabouts. Way to think outside the box, my friend. Damn. Your statement made me a little sad.
Great Channel, I watch other similar channels, and it takes 2 minutes to build up a single crash. I like how you keep the flow going and don't waste time.
Thank you! Yeah, I'm always annoyed when channels drag things out for too long - like, just make a shorter video if you don't have the content. Thankfully, Seattle drivers make sure I always have plenty of clips to share 😂
So many distracted drivers in the daytime. I can often tell who is on their cell phone by inconsistent speed and uneven driving. I never go anywhere at night - too many drunk drivers. Traffic has doubled in my little Kenmore in the last 5 years.
Driving in Seattle isn’t just about watching the road; you also need to brace yourself for all sorts of unexpected chaos. That ‘Duke boys’ stunt of crashing through barriers and damaging the bridge was the peak of madness. Hopefully, everyone watching this will take the lesson and drive more safely!
Dashcams are a must for every driver, especially in Seattle. In less than a month of having it, I already caught a dangerous spinout on I-405 in the dark rainy weather after the bomb cyclone. SLOW DOWN people and watch where you are going!
It's weird this video came up on my page. I am in Seattle right now just down the road from Rainier Ave and I recognized it. The funny thing is, I'm here on vacation and I've been paranoid about driving in this city. Now I see why.
These compilations are the reason why I don’t ever choose to drive when Seattle is involved in my day. I will say that I didn’t help the case for Bellevue drivers when I myself became an idiot and failed to lane change for a right turn and crashed into a couple of people. Luckily, they weren’t mad at me and the insurance stuff went so smooth that the cop that responded to the scene didn’t even cite me and left right as he arrived. My car was going to be totaled but I chose to repair it with money in my own pocket and have became a whole lot more aware of my surroundings when on the road!
Nah...Bellevue drivers are incredibly bad. It's all about entitlement. (although there are some ethnic groups on the Eastside that don't seem to have spacial awareness or respect for traffic laws.)
If you are referring to Asian drivers. They are bad drivers for being too conservative at driving and driving too slowly and waiting too long at the 4 way stops. They are not entitled, they don't speed nor run light lights.
Yeah, that would be nice! The city doesn't retain any of the footage from the cameras, but luckily I have access to a private archiving site that saves the footage for a few days. Thanks for watching!
@@SeattleTrafficCams I honestly don't even know the brand. It's not a high end cloud based one, just one that gives me a good 1080p video, front and rear, onto a SD card if I need it.
1:42 small error to correct. The car on the right enters the intersection just before the light turns red. The car on the right is crossing legally in WA state, you can enter the intersection as long as the light is yellow. The car on the left enters just after the light changes to red and is therefore running a red light.
I grew up in Seattle and now live on the eastside and boy I would LOVE you to include Bellevue/Redmond/Kirkland etc drivers. Bellevue has all the entitled impatient rich fucks and the amount of cybertrucks I have seen is ridiculous. They must be shamed, as well! Ps: I love your voice overs! Besides helping in explaining what is happening, I appreciate the jokes! Ignore the haters, they can fucking mute if they don't like it (fr who the fuck blocks a channel for THEM voluntarily listening to commentary that is optional and can be muted....?)

You have spoiled high schooler/College student in WRX's and the slow moving scared Asians in Outbacks and Foresters. Just my observation. Honda CR-V drivers are either very entitled (My sister) or just incompetent. Don't get me started on the fucks who can't understand do not park your giant ass Tundra or Sequoia in a compact space.
Thank you, again, Friend of All Criminals, King County Prosecutor Leesa Manion and her relentless efforts not to charge people with gun crime, or to fold a guilty plea with another conviction and then agree to concurrent sentencing. The guy was already a criminal which is why he couldn't carry a gun in the first place. Way to go, Leesa.
The only place I’ve seen that has worse drivers is parts of New Jersey…But we are pretty high up there on the bad drivers list combined with most people in this area being on drugs 24/7
I'm going to say 7 rollovers. From Toronto, Canada. Sad to say we are getting into the red light running and crashing epidemic. Been 3 serious ones in the last 2 months alone, with cars running lights and hitting our local transit buses overnight.
The problem is the overall environment of lawlessness has gotten much worse in recent years. No one feels there will be any consequences for driving like they’re in a video game, and until they get in a spectacular car wreck, there almost never are.
It's the fault of our built environment, which we have created, ineptly, with eyes open. You cannot participate in USA culture without being able to operate a motor vehicle. Telling people they cannot drive isn't quite a death sentence, but it's not far off. That it becomes a literal death sentence to innocent others is collateral damage of policy. Every day is a roll of the dice.
"The fire engine had the red light." In every state/county I have ever lived in, when fire trucks have their sirens on all traffic lights in a 1-2 block radius go red, to stop all traffic flow for the fire trucks. As in a built into the traffic light system fire truck with sirens on would always have red lights, by design.
Yeah, we don't seem to have that system in Seattle - they do have the ability to turn the lights green on a few of the roads downtown, so I'm not sure why that didn't happen in this case.
As an eastern Washington resident that has had to live there i can say that Seattle area drivers are the rudest most unskilled drivers in existence. Texting and riding your tail, speeding racing ,and my favorite, lane sweeping.
I used to driver up and down I-5 in a truck. Moving bringing windows from Canada down to California. For some reason I noticed that when I got into Oregon and got closer to Portland drivers liked to slow down and then stay at the tail of the trailer. It continued like that through Seattle. I could speed up or slow down and they stay in position at the rear of the trailer. They would be in the next lane over holding that position. Before their car reached me I could see them coming up. It always happened in Oregon and Washington.
@@Rhaspun Can confirm. East Seattle area for 20 years. Very annoying. Having been to ID, UT, and other states, only happens in OR and WA. It seems they are trying to block other cars from passing and hold up the traffic.

Oh no, that sounds like a mess - hope you were okay! I don't usually use dash cam clips, but maybe I can find it on traffic cam. How long ago was it, and what were the intersections?
7:35 I was working the door at The 5 Point Cafe when that accident happened and watched it in real time. I was the 911 caller and who pulled the guy out of the upside down vehicle. He was physically ok, but clearly intoxicated. He actually jumped a curb that sent his car into one of the the pillars of the Monorail and he kinda backflipped off the pillar. Crazy night!
That W Marginal and Highland Park intersection is a cluster. I waited 20 minutes to turn eastbound on Highland from southbound Marginal a few years ago. No accidents or closures, just terrible drivers with no knowing that green means "Go".
Nice! It's fun when I drive in parts of the city I haven't spent much time in, but recognize because of seeing them on traffic camera all the time. Thanks for watching!
2:00 I believe this is the off ramp to First Ave from eastbound West Seattle Bridge. Where the red semi is, is straight only and marked no right turn*. But, you guessed it, I have seen so many right turns. Maybe they changed the light pattern but it used to be people turning illegally right (*which can’t be seen) while traffic on the right had a green light.
There's just a higher camera density down there, and I think more drivers are funneled onto roads that have more cameras. Like, north of the cut, Lake City Way only has a few cameras, and 15th Ave only has a few as well, so it seems like crashes on the south side are more likely to be on traffic cam.
Hello, last night I was in an accident where someone rear ended me and then ran from the scene. I’ve read that the city doesn’t keep footage but maybe you might have it? I don't know if you're new or if I've just never come across you on youtube. But you are hilarious. Not trying to make light of the situation but you can still strike a funny bone.
As a local CA trucker who travels the bay area and LA these drivers make ours look like saints.
I got the impression that all your worst drivers moved here.
Your commentary is brilliant. Thank you.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
7. As for the emergency vehicle question, even with lights and sirens activated, an emergency vehicle may not pass through a red light or stop sign until the operator/engineer ensures all traffic has stopped to give the emergency vehicle the right of way.
Thanks for that Captain Obvious!
@@billyd7882there are plenty of people who are unaware of this. Most just think every intersection is up to emergency responders subjectivity - and not explicitly requires full 4-way stationary traffic.
@@billyd7882 You are most welcome.
Your part of the problem, never leave the left coast the rest of the country doesn’t want you.
This is so much better than Netflix, and your narration is the icing!
Much appreciated - thanks for watching!
I've driven enough in Bellevue to know that they're as bad or worse than Seattle drivers...
@WraithBlackthorn EXACTLY!
@@abbieliz396 "Crash fetish" well maybe Lol. I think there's something clearly wrong with the signaling or arrangement of the intersection.
Yeah, there are so many crashes there - not sure what's going on...
Lol, wasn't there a movie along those lines back in the mid 2000's?
@@oceania2385
I use that intersection a lot and there's nothing janky or wrong with the light arrangement, people are just really stupid.
Love your voice and commentary! Don’t mind the haters!
Thank you, I appreciate it!!
Sexy
seattle needs a mjaor overhaul for roundabouts and more brighter colors around town!
Or safer driver behavior
Brighter colors come in the form of pride flags scattered about. The city is content with its amount of color at the moment.
@@TheReapersSon You can have orange or red or green and liven it up a bit without offending anyone's fragile masculinity.
Hahaha. That'll fix the problem for sure. Brighter colors and overhauls on the roundabouts. Way to think outside the box, my friend. Damn. Your statement made me a little sad.
How about nice bright porta potty’s on ever corner.
Omg! I lived right there on Crown Hill, 65th and 15th in 1981... good memories.
If you have "driving down stairways" on your bucket list. Then driving in Seattle is for you
My God! These are better to watch than car wrecks in the movies! I've never watched your channel before. I'll be back!😊
I counted 6 rollovers! I really enjoyed watching, thank you!
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
miss these video's thank you for posting. I counted 6 roll over MVC's . crazy.
Thanks for watching!
So often it is innocent drivers who get the raw end of crashes!
I've NEVER been in an accident. I've been driving for over 40 years.
you must be a woman
Driving in Seattle isn’t just about watching the road; you also need to brace yourself for all sorts of unexpected chaos. That ‘Duke boys’ stunt of crashing through barriers and damaging the bridge was the peak of madness. Hopefully, everyone watching this will take the lesson and drive more safely!
New subscriber. Love your dry sense of humour. 😅
Thanks for watching and subbing, I appreciate it!
Well, SOMETHING in Seattle has to be dry
Well when you got 13 year old driving stolen cars...
Oof, yeah, that certainly doesn't help...
Dashcams are a must for every driver, especially in Seattle. In less than a month of having it, I already caught a dangerous spinout on I-405 in the dark rainy weather after the bomb cyclone. SLOW DOWN people and watch where you are going!
try to get camera footage from other cities on the eastside like redmond, samammish and renton
Drugs and not holding people accountable for their actions is why this crap happens.
Also cars.
@@242sighting Nah just drugs.
No, everytime I see a shite driver around here, they are mid50s and playing on their ipad in their new Tesla.
It's weird this video came up on my page. I am in Seattle right now just down the road from Rainier Ave and I recognized it. The funny thing is, I'm here on vacation and I've been paranoid about driving in this city. Now I see why.
Car vs Bus is always my favorite.
The bus always wins
It takes a certain kind of skill to not see a bus...
@ It’s only a 30-60’ long vehicle, some drivers might not see that lol
8 rollovers in the video , some were a real head scratcher .
🙌🏻
If you are referring to Asian drivers. They are bad drivers for being too conservative at driving and driving too slowly and waiting too long at the 4 way stops. They are not entitled, they don't speed nor run light lights.
They should stop making you bend over backwards to collect these and just release them with full transparency.
Absolutely the last person I'd expect to see on a Seattle Crash Compilation video. Small world.
Yeah, that would be nice! The city doesn't retain any of the footage from the cameras, but luckily I have access to a private archiving site that saves the footage for a few days. Thanks for watching!
@@SeattleTrafficCams I wouldn’t retain the footage either if I was beholden to local real estate and chamber of commerce interests 😀
"... this could be Seattle drivers on the Eastside ..." HAHAHAHA!!! thanks for posting these.

I counted 6 roll overs. This is why I never drive without my dash cams.
I'm also a proud member of the dash cam club. What do you use? I need to upgrade soon...

Obviously the third car is also running a red.
2:01 wow! That car rolled over SEVERAL times!
Lol, I'm tempted to include cybertrucks just to shame them for existing - I'll have to see if I can find footage of one for my next compilation 😂 - thank you for watching!!
On the Eastside, no other brand of car can piss you off like Teslas, Although Subaru drivers can also be very fucking annoying.
I love how the most seattle sounding dude is commentating this.
Priceless commentary.
Watching from Everett 😮
The only place I’ve seen that has worse drivers is parts of New Jersey…But we are pretty high up there on the bad drivers list combined with most people in this area being on drugs 24/7
The drug problem is out of control here. It wrecks so much havoc. There needs to be stronger punishment for drug use
Superb commentary
I love this channel
Golden cold open 😂
0:03 No, wait... not... not like that. 😕
Lol, thanks - it took me a while to figure out how to start the video 😀
Only here do I receive angry honks for not speeding, not turning left on a red, etc.
Yeah, we really need to bring back traffic enforcement, and a ton of automated cameras would probably help too. Thanks for watching!
when people ask me why ill never drive in Seattle, i respond with these videos
It's far too easy to get a drivers license.
Yeah, and far too easy to keep it even if you get in crash after crash... thanks for watching!
"The fire engine had the red light."
In every state/county I have ever lived in, when fire trucks have their sirens on all traffic lights in a 1-2 block radius go red, to stop all traffic flow for the fire trucks.

I work downtown Seattle and got a front and back dash cam. I’m prepared! Man too many ppl run red lights it’s crazy🤔
And, WHAT of the infamous Union Street Offramp of I-5?
No traffic camera there, unfortunately - that would be a great spot for one!
You’re not sure why Rainier Ave S has a lot of shenanigans?
Do you take clips? I have my dash camera of the dumbest accident ever where a commercial van u-turned into me in the middle of downtown.

I visited Seattle in April and now I recognize some of the places I walked
Is there a reason that most of these cameras are central or south side? Are there no wrecks north of the Montlake cut?
There's just a higher camera density down there, and I think more drivers are funneled onto roads that have more cameras. Like, north of the cut, Lake City Way only has a few cameras, and 15th Ave only has a few as well, so it seems like crashes on the south side are more likely to be on traffic cam.
I moved from Utah where I thought the drivers there were the worst. Well seattle takes the prize. Subscribing
