- In this video, I replaced my stock, basic side mirrors with some that have the turn signals and power folding capability. This modification is commonly known as the DL8 to DL3 mirror conversion
Current mods on the truck:
Headers, Intake, Ported Manifold and Throttle Body
BTR Stage 3 Truck Cam, 218/224
Circle D 3200 stall converter
Built 5" diameter, one piece driveshaft
Eaton Truetrac w/ 3.90 gears
True dual x-pipe exhaust w/ Corsa mufflers
E85 Flex Fuel Sensor
Tuned by JRX Tuning now Texas Racing Concepts (TRC)

For all DL3 functions (besides new window switches) do you need to reprogram / update the BCM/ECU?
The turn signals work just fine. I believe you will need reprogramming for the puddle lights
What's your window tint percentage?? I currently have 20% front windows & 35% on top of factory tinted windows to make darker.. Front windshield only has a 20% strip... Kinda wanna re-tint whole fron windshield
50% windshield, 5% windows all around

I am just getting on to your channel about a month ago now. I hope you add a list for parts to make this a complete renovation. I think I would like to do this mod, but I hate to keep opening up these doors. I changed out my speakers and considering customizing the doors.
Just aim to grand slam this next time I open these doors.
Yes I’m planning on finishing out this specific mod. I believe all that’s lacking are the window switches. I have like a grocery list worth of things I want to do to this thing and one of them involves the doors. Hopefully you’re still hanging out on the channel by then 👍🏾

@@GM_Trent So this was just plug and play? Your original stock mirrors did not have the turn signal option correct? Will this work for Tahoe's as well?

They are not hardwired at the moment
@@GM_Trent Was the wire harness for the new turn signal mirrors factory installed previously and all you had to do was plug and play?
I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab. I was curious if I can change mine to turn signals in the mirror?
Yes, you should be able to do this to your truck without any issues
First of.. your truck is bad ass. So on your mirrors the Puddle lights should work during lock and unlock. You'll need to get dl3 master switches.. meaning drivers and passenger window switches to make to power folding work..good luck.

@@AlexJuarez-ky6cr it’s on the to do list to get everything to work. Junkyards be taxing and half don’t have all the parts

Yes, this works for the NNBS Silverado/Sierra platform
can you still manually fold them?
They will fold by hand, but I was always told that doing so would mess up the power folders, so I just leave them out for now
Is the harness spliced into the wiring in the rear or the front of the vehicle?
Sorry for the late response, but no, nothing is spliced in. It all connects to the factory harness
@@GM_TrentOkay thanks, did your truck come with the wiring preinstalled for the turn signal mirrors? My truck doesn’t have the factory wiring installed at all for me to get that style of mirrors. I can’t tell by the video of your wiring was already installed by the factory.

My truck did come with power mirrors. Power to tilt them up and down and what not. That’s about it.

Just hard wire your puddle lights bro that’s what I did to mine to work. No ltz switches here
