I just love how his prediction on Kevin Tillie going back to France to play is pretty accurate. To be fair, he wasn't talking about Kevin Tillie will go back to France and play, but more of him being less physical which might lead to him not being able to play Italy because they require the top of cream to play over there. I think people will hate me for that but sometimes I feel like FIVB is just hyping Nishida to the point that I get tired of watching FIVB's page. It's like he will have successful career but he's playing against way bigger blocks and high level of defence system. He is something special but this doesn't mean he is the best of the best. Kinda feel like this season have a lot of ups and downs, some of the downs being the Korean league kick a few of the players out of the league due to past school violence, COVID impacting some players, financial struggles from some teams, but the upside is, volleyball is BACK. We have high quality games in CEV club volleyball and in major leagues. What's not to love about that.
I don’t think they’re hyping him up as if he’s the best of the best because he’s not, but because he’s one of the most popular players out there and generates a huge amount of social media interest. People love watching an underdog and his style of play. The fact that he’s 6’1” and can kinda hang with the some of the top players is cool to watch. The fact that the upcoming olympics is in Japan ups his profile since he’s hugely popular there. Also, he is surrounded by a team of very good players, so it isn’t just down to Nishida to garner the team’s success.

I think the inopportune time Milano went down with coronavirus and then having to play all those games at once affected their standing in the regular season.
