Would this cause your car to crank but not start on occasion? My 1999 Silverado is putting out this code and is having a weird startup issue.

So my gas gauge works fine unless I fill it up all the way. And then it freaks out. And I don't throw this code unless I park in my driveway on an incline. Can it still be a relay?cuz my fuse is fine.

Can this be the reason my car cuts of when I step on it and when driving for 10min it cuts off?? Also my fuel gauge moves around

The fuel level sensor wouldn't affect the engine running, but the wires for the fuel pump and sensor are in the same harness. I would check the harness and all the connections.

If I may add a quick note. On some GM models/years you may have to clear that code after repairs so the fuel gauge functions.
Have had many customers over the years do their own repairs and still thinking they have issues but they never cleared the code.

I just changed my fuel pump with a 59$ one from Amazon and my gas gauge reads empty even after a fill up . I also have this dam code.

Mine is P0460 after installing a new sending unit. Installed it correctly and the wires are all connected with dielectric grease. My gauge is locked full even when the vehicle is off

I have a question. 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 HD actually replaced my fuel pump about 6 months ago because I was getting no fuel level reading on my Dash. Very often when I go to fill my tank, I have a nightmare of a time getting fuel into the tank, almost as though the tank is full. Clicks off constantly. I do have a p0463 code. I read that recently and cleared the codes, now the previous three times I have filled my truck I haven't had a problem ? Is all this related? Thank you

I've never seen a fuel level sensor affect fueling. Usually, if the pump is clicking off, there is an issue with the Evap Vent Valve.

@@HVAC_Mechanic yeah I had all that apart, inspected everything when I put a fuel pump in recently I could find no blockage it's crazy! I even went to the point of throwing a funnel in the bed of my truck so the next time I have this problem I could try fueling using the funnel, to see if there was less pressure or something, but as I said, after I cleared the code, this is not been a problem again. So I haven't tried the funnel thing. I don't have a lot of faith that this is the end of my fueling problem. But thank you very much

I had the same with issue clicking off several times at the gas pump as if it were full. It turned out to be the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor $36 after thinking me thinking and replacing the Evap Purge Solenoid Valve. But glad i replaced them both because it was a pain dripping the gas tank on my 04 chev Malibu. It’s common on GM during that period.

2008 chevy Duramax. Fuel cooler was replaced due to leaking. Had kept minimum fuel in tank until repaired. Once replaced I filled up tank. Started truck and fuel gauge went to just under 3/4. No problems prior. I got the code from forums online. Mine isn't visually set.

This technology shouldn't keep the vehicle from starting 😢 I just filled the tank up two days ago!
