I changed out the fuel pump, the fuel filter and fuel regulator. I’m not getting any gas going to my supply hose going to my my line that goes to the motor
Consider also when changing the pump that the sealing gasket is seated properly and if the locking ring is the threaded screw type it is tightened enough otherwise you will have an evap leak

I took out the relay while my 04 envoy was running to check and of course the truck turned off. I wanted to check the relay by watching UA-cam videos which I didn't have much time so I put the relay and the fuse next to it and went to drive and nows it's not running good and the service engine light is flickering off and on. I had auto zone scan it and it's showing a number 2 mi's fire. I've taken out that fuse in the past and never had this problem. I also took off the terminals yesterday to put new battery in but it drove fine till this happened tonight. Should I try gas treatment?
It needs to be diagnosed; a cylinder #2 misfire could be a bad injector, which treatment may or may not fix. It can also be a bad coil or in the wiring. The components need to be tested to know.
I just recently change my fuel pump, change my fuel filter, and my truck still will not fire up it wants to, but it won’t stay running. How does the fuel filter hook up? What line goes in and one line goes out
I installed a new fuel pump and a few weeks after having it installed the car started struggling to start. I connected a fuel pressure gauge to it and noticed the fuel line was getting primed when on the on position. The fuel pump must be bad but I am open to second opinions.
I just cut a my bed to get to it. It was a little tricky to get the lock ring loose but definitely a time saver. If it was a newer truck maybe not but it was an old work truck 2014 and I have a bed liner to cover it up.
I don't know how universal this is but I just took out the bed liner, six bolts out and slid the bed back, up over the bumper, 95 Ford Ranger. No cutting needed.
I'm looking for the ground wire location for the fuel pump on a 2001Chevy Suburban. The fuel pump doesn't start when I turn the key to the ON position. I haven't changed out the fuel pump because of cost. My brother told me to check the ground wire before changing the fuel pump.I've looked at several videos and no luck there.
There will be two wires going to the fuel level sensor and two wires to the fuel pump (Positive/Negative). If you can't find a wiring schematic, look at the fuel pump on eBay, and it will show which wires are to what.
Just brought my in-laws 2015 Suburban in after stalling and power issues. Diagnosed as faulty fuel pump. Had replaced. Next day check engine light came on and stalled on side of road. Would start go a few feet and stall. Finally wouldn’t start just cranking. Towed back to the shop. Errrrrrggggh!
Same with my Jeep 4.7 could be crankshaft or camshaft sensors but for me I replaced all of them and still, last thing I could think of are blown fuses or bad wiring
Check engine light came on again before stalling. Codes this time were completely different than first time. Turned out to be a heavily corroded fuel pump control module that had let in moisture and dirt. I’m thinking that was the initial problem not the gas tank fuel pump. Running and starting perfect now.
Can using the wrong filter or bigger filter cause the pressure decrease. My Ford ranger builds up pressure but can't maintain it it stays at 50psi but when I first turn on the key it shoots to 55psi after changing the fuel regulator
At 1:50, below the mouse cursor, how do you get that black hose attachment off the white connector? Squeezing the two very stubborn arms at the end, as far as they'll go, still doesn't release the hose. I'm worried that if I apply any more force, I'll break it.
2011 v6 3.5 camry. 3 years ago car started to take a second longer to start once every six months and in the last 6 months it stsrted becoming more often like once every 20 starts. Replaced fuel pump and it seemed all was good till it did it again. Changed fuel filter and yet again the problem reappeared after few days. Last night i swapped back to the original fuel pump thinking i might have bought a faulty fuel pump even though its a Denso OEM for camry. I've only ceanked the car 4 times and tartes right up but i decided to search why the car would still hesitate even after fuel filter and pump replacement. I stopped watching this video half way thru thinking this video aint gonna solve the issue but few minuted later devided to watch the whole video..and then the fuel pressure regulator got mentioned. I havent checked it yet but I'm hoping and I really think the pressure regulator is the culprit. There's no loss of power, no rough idling, fuel economy is unchanged. If the fuel pressure regulator , as you mentioned, maintains the pressure in fuel line when the car has been sitting but really doesn't affect the running then I'm thinking it has to be the regulator. I'll get one from napa..or should I order from OEM Denso?
This is just a guess, but since the symptoms seem to disappear when parts are changed out, that often points to contaminants in the gas tank, such as rust. That often happens when there is something that keeps clogging the fuel pump and filters.
@@HVAC_Mechanic The fuel tank looks spotless and shiny inside. In a camry its plainly visible for inspection when the fuel assembly is taken out and I took my time inspecting it using my brightest non-sparking flashlight and a tight gas mask. hi, thx for the video tips. however ive replaced my diesl high lift fuel pump done all the bleeding and still no start. crank and fuel pressure seem right. wiring seems intact, plz help any ideas
A lot of mechanics would spray starter fluid into the air intake while a helper tries to start the engine. If it doesn't start, it's in the wiring. If it does start, it's a fuel issue.
I have a Renault super 5. Mechanical fuel pump. Carburateur. I changed the fuel pump. The old one started leaking, and the car was starting really late in the morning after a few days turned off. Pump is pumping but fuel doesn’t fill the fuel filter… 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️ I don’t know what’s happening.
This can happen depending on what stroke the engine was turned off on since it always starts at piston 1 it might just have to crank the crankshaft a few times to get in the right position to start the engine it can normally take 2 or 4 seconds to start if it’s running the the pistons and sometime it can start right up if it’s at the piston 1 immediately
I have an 07 Nissan Murano that sends gas fumes through the vents when the car is on. Also every time I put a half of tank of gas in the car, it runs out in maybe an hour or two. Could it be the fuel pump? Or would you think it’s the fuel filter and pressure regulator?
Hello I had a question, I just changed mines to my 2010 Nissan Rogue this past Sunday. It was running good yesterday and Sunday. Installed brand new fuel pump and after a about a week the temperature sensor bunt out, what is causing this, please help? Runs fine but pulls a P0183 code..is it the wire harness?! Lost!!!!
It could be the wiring or a bad fuel temperature sensor. Often, new fuel pumps such as Nissan have a plastic fuel temp sensor that notoriously fails. The metal fuel temp sensor is the one to get.
Ive done about 5 or so fuel pumps at my current job, most of the vehicles were fine after replacing the pump, but 2 would idle fine, rev fine in park and neutral but when accelerating it would stutter. With the scanner on both cars, the fuel pressure would read normal but same issue would apply.

Thanks for your video 🙌 I just changed my fuel pump and fuel filter on my '03 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.3L (because the fuel pump was reading low even after filling up, I had no check engine light. When I finished I had a check engine light and when I hooked up my obd2 I got error codes p0446 (EVAP vent system performance) and p0452 (fuel tank pressure sensor circuit low input). Do these 2 code together maybe mean something in terms of diagnosis? Any help is greatly appreciated, I bought all kinds of tools thinking I was going to be able to work on my truck and I feel like I just failed. -Josh
The fuel tank pressure sensor is located on the fuel pump and likely has a bad connection. It may also be bad but since the fuel pump was just swapped out most likely it has a bad connection. The computer uses the fuel tank pressure sensor to monitor the EVAP system. When it has an issue it will give EVAP codes.
@@HVAC_Mechanic I checked the fuel tank pressure sensor and it barely had a faint glow from the indicator light, I'm thinking that's where the problem is located.

A P0463 code is a “Fuel Level Sensor “Or a” Circuit High.” There is likely an issue with the wiring or a bad fuel pump. I would check the related fuses, the harness where it plugs into the fuel pump, and the wiring at the harness with multi-meter.

@@johnjarrel2522 found out the reason why is because I didn’t fully push in the hoses where they connected so since my cars pretty clapped out the rattling made them loose. I had the fuel pump replaced last year for a bad fuel level sender on my Pontiac Montana. Since then, it’s had a loud ringing sound almost exactly like the low-speed sound a Bolt EV makes for pedestrians (multiple people independently made this comparison). Sometimes it’s so loud I have to turn the engine off in a drive through. Though it’s obviously under warranty the shop refuses to fix or replace it unless the pump out-right fails. I did notice that it takes a bit longer to start if the engine has only been off a minute or so… like it has to crank a bit more before it starts getting fuel. Could replacing the fuel pressure regulator also fix the loud ringing sound? The sound is definitely from the fuel pump since you hear it for a second when priming (turn key to run, don’t start) and it becomes constant after starting.
It might be a bad pump, but a clogged fuel filter can block the flow and make the pump work harder and noisy. I would replace the fuel filter and pressure regulator to see if the sound went away.

It will depend on the vehicle for the circuit that controls the fuel pump as there could be a fuel pump driver module, or it could just power on from when the ignition is on the On position. A wiring diagram for your specific vehicle will be needed to know. Be sure to check if the fuel pump inertia switch has not been triggered.

What line goes in and one line goes out
My 2015 Kia forte is doing the same thing , it won’t stay running . It would run for a good 30 minutes and it will cut off
I installed a new fuel pump and a few weeks after having it installed the car started struggling to start. I connected a fuel pressure gauge to it and noticed the fuel line was getting primed when on the on position. The fuel pump must be bad but I am open to second opinions.
What is your mind set about cutting the bed for access i have 30 gallons of gas in the tank and I would really rather not have to drop the fuel tank
@@joolzanzleaux I cut the bottom of the bed and then welded it together and it worked perfectly
What does it mean when I sometimes have to hit the fuel tank with a hammer to get it to start?. This is the 3rd fuel pump.
I replaced my fuel pump all of a sudden I’m having fuel up relay electrical malfunction. Replaced the relay and same issue
They can be tricky sometimes and vary between manufacturers. There are dedicated videos on removing those connectors.
when looking at fuses, can i just pull them out? i don’t have to disconnect anything before? sorry dumb question
The ignition should be off and then they can be pulled
Just purchased the regulator from Napa. Can t wait to install it.
thank you for the education
I have a 2011 f150 changed the fuel pump and now when I drive it sputters when you hold it on a solid rpm like 2000 rpm or higher but starts and idled fine
Thank you, well done!
Help, I changed a new one flow has power and not the orange wire not getting power, everything in front good ,fues and relay's ,just not the back
I replaced the filter first, checked my fuses, connected the wires on the fuel pump correctly. Checked relay sensors all had good connection and weren’t blown..but now no spark to the plugs what do I do??
Did you ever figure it out?
hi, thx for the video tips. however ive replaced my diesl high lift fuel pump done all the bleeding and still no start. crank and fuel pressure seem right. wiring seems intact, plz help any ideas
Switched to a new fuel pump and now almost doesn’t start and last night it stabled when I got home and never started again. Pump is pumping but fuel doesn’t fill the fuel filter… 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️ I don’t know what’s happening.
Was the fuel filter replaced? If so, I would check the gas tank for contaminants.
I already changed new relay with used fuel pump. But sometimes my car starts right away. Sometimes long crank before it started.
Clench the fuel regulator😂
I have an 07 Nissan Murano that sends gas fumes through the vents when the car is on. Also every time I put a half of tank of gas in the car, it runs out in maybe an hour or two. Could it be the fuel pump? Or would you think it’s the fuel filter and pressure regulator?
It sounds like there is a leak somewhere. I would get it checked out right away.
Installed callibrated Delphi fuel pump type 1530 after that engine giving very high rpm what would be the reason?
I learn about what you have taught me. 🙂🙂🙂
Hello I had a question, I just changed mines to my 2010 Nissan Rogue this past Sunday. It was running good yesterday and Sunday. However I wanted to know why today my vehicle randomly stopped based off the rubber attachment to the pump came off and caused gas to leak under the vehicle. Why won’t the rubber stay on the pump?
QUICK connector may need replacing or constant pressure hose clamp is bad!!!!
@@johnjarrel2522 thx 😀👍🏾
Ever figure it out?
Is anyone in Oregon who is a desiel mechanic? My skoolie has been "eating" fuel pumps, and I haven't been able to figure out why?
Thanks 👍
Ford f150. When I drive, after a while when I give it gas, it starts to choke up and the more I hit the gas the more it struggles but if I tap the gas lightly , it drives normal. I changed the fuel pump but now it’s like small backfires . The gas gauge wasn’t working at first but now the guage works after I swapped the pump out. But it still shuts off, the more gas I try to give it
Hello I have a 2012 dodge charger change the main fuel pump 2x...both times car run for one day then the pump die...could this be because I didn't change the secondary one...I also change the relay...133k miles on the car...
I have same issue I changed the fuel pump 4th times but again died today, did you find out the problem?
Thank you great video
This is my current issues with my ford ranger 2016. Please how did you solve the problem of the stuttering please!!
Same thing gone on with my 2008 Chevy impala ss I put a new put on the car and the car is not pumping gas to the engine. I swap the relays out that didn’t work can somebody help me out. The car only runs with stater fluid and dies if I hit the gas
I changed out my fuel pump and filter. I’m not getting any fuel to my supply line going to my motor. What could that be?
U ever figure it out?
Thanks for your video 🙌
I just changed my fuel pump and fuel filter on my '03 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.3L (because the fuel pump was reading low even after filling up, I had no check engine light.
@@HVAC_Mechanic I checked the fuel tank pressure sensor and it barely had a faint glow from the indicator light, I'm thinking that's where the problem is located.
please help! i am having problem starting my 2008 honda accord 2.4l . i have to crank 3 or 4 times before it starts. Coils, plugs and fuel pump have all been replaced yet same problem. Hard starting, idles rough, hesitation and lack of power. I need your help

HELP CHANGED FUEL PUMP 1995 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP 3.4 HAD BEEN SITTING FOR 5 YEARS. WHEN I TRY TO START GAS POURING OUT OF THROTTLE BODY? DO I HAVE LINES CROSSED PLEASE HELP ALMOST DIED TODAY
Fuel pressure regulator likely.
Can you tell me what’s wrong with my fuel pressure? 2018 5.3 65k with high and low fuel pressure pump. I hooked up a guage and the needle was fluctuating. 22-55psi. After I shut the engine off the pressure rises up to 80psi. Thanks
Sounds like a stuck regulator ,that would be on a fuel rail and have a vacuum line to it
My car runs fine but has P0463 and the guage shows empty. Please help.
A P0463 code is a “Fuel Level Sensor “Or a” Circuit High.” There is likely an issue with the wiring or a bad fuel pump. I would check the related fuses, the harness where it plugs into the fuel pump, and the wiring at the harness with multi-meter.
Switched both my fuel pumps after it leaking gas. I got it to run when finished but the next day the engine light popped up and it’s telling me the fuel pump sensor b , how can I fix it??? Lmk anything helps
Since the fuel pump was just changed it is likely the wiring harness needs to be re-seated.
@@HVAC_Mechanicso before I had got the code p2066 it said stored, pending and permanent. After I fix the problem with the sensor it only showed permanent, does that mean the issue is resolved but the code won’t go away even if deleted??
I recently changed my fuel pump on my is300 and it was fine, perfect even and turned the car on and off for a bit to let the fuel go and circulate. Recently very recently the fuel started to cut off while driving but goes back and now I’m hearing a faintish buzzing down coming from the fuel pump.
Always buy Quality pumps!!!!!
@@johnjarrel2522 found out the reason why is because I didn’t fully push in the hoses where they connected so since my cars pretty clapped out the rattling made them loose. I just took them off and make sure they reconnected by using lots of pretty to make sure it was properly snug. So far no issues and dailying it again no issues

Have you gotten an update?
Swaped relay a few times, no start. Bypass relay starts and runs. What controls the relay?
It will depend on the vehicle for the circuit that controls the fuel pump as there could be a fuel pump driver module, or it could just power on from when the ignition is on the On position. A wiring diagram for your specific vehicle will be needed to know. Be sure to check if the fuel pump inertia switch has not been triggered.
It's an 01 blazer. I'll check for that switch. Maybe I'll add an add a relay kit.
