I'm proud to say I'm Maltese. And I always will be. I think every song we've sent to the Eurovision has been good, not necessarily the best, but we've never sent a bad song. Proud of you always Malta, whether you win or not! To me, you are always and forever the winner!
Still amazes me to this day. This is a tremendous song, with such sweet, mellifluous and yet unexpected melodic turns. A very modern, contemporary pop song only perfected by Mary's searingly powerful voice which underscores the melody and performance in all the right places.
she is a beautiful lady with a wonderful unique voice. I would love to hear her sing a songe called One Day at a time sweet jesus. I think that would really suit her voice. I think she is amazing and so well respected around europe.

This was my first Eurovision as a fan, and I couldn't stop watching the preview video for this in the weeks leading up to the contest. If the preview video was good, then this live performance was ten times better. Superb!

Well that person obviously had taste. I'm Irish and this is in a different league to Why Me and Mary Spiteri is a far better singer. This is one of my all time favourites, loved everything about it from the Tourist Board video they did for the previews to the song on the night. Malta actually got more 12 pointers on the night but sadly the jury voting back then was often eclectic to say the least, that said, far better than the neighbourly voting we've got since the viewer votes were included.

Yes Spiteri is quite a common surname in Malta. As for the leadsinger of Texas, I don't know if she has Maltese origin, but that's very likely since many Maltese used to emigrate to US, Canada and Australia in the past century.

Well All I can say that Malta is one of the smallest countrys In Europe and with a population just over 400,000 people they the largest countries cannot stand such a smaller nation to produce such talents and songs such as Mary and Chiara contributions in the past, Just pea green jealous that coutries with millions of of people get beaten by a tiny equally talented nation as Malta :)

Great song. Hated the winner Why Me. This was best followed the catch danish entry Alt Det Som Ingen Sehr. Prob then One Step Out Of Time third best for me. Good contest 92. One of the better years before it descended into garbage 2001 onward

Nothing special to me, but at least this performance was descent, unlike the previous year's sixth-placer. There's nothing gripping about the song to me at all, and imo, Mary Spiteri's singing voice is an acquired taste. Just not my cup of tea. Don't ask me how she came ahead of Italy.
well the song that won only has one neighbour, who was getting bombed to fuck by the ira at the time so not really an excuse at this stage in the competition. its a prob now because there is 3 times more countries in eastern europe than the west/north and they all vote for each other as they were all once either yugoslavia or russia which is ruining it for coutries like ireland, iceland etc who really have no neighbours.
really gr8 song but as we are a really small country with no neighbours and border countrys we cant win the euro vision if one take an example on this song one can under stand that on this really small island we have the quality of profesionals too and let the votes to the gr8 songs not to their neghbours or change of votes ..... im proud too be maltese

England was an s hole in this voting, even Italy did nt give us as much...although we did...Ireland gave us points too although it was competing...no wonder why we did nt give points to England the year after, and Ireland won over the UK...haha

This was WAY far the best song. Michaell Ball and Linda Martin weren't special and only Greece and Cyprus came close to Mary

I liked this song, but I never got why people said it should have one. She has a nice voice, but Linda Martin's song was much nicer, for me anyway.
