Great to hear you have a more real conversation about being out in the nature, even in poor conditions. It's definitely necessary for our mental health. I'm a 9-5 office guy, and definitely feel that urge to get out and get away from the monitor.
I really like how you create features that aren't just fun, but actually challenge you to get better. And then you work on them until you conquer them. A lot of MTB videos I see showing trail building, the builders are making things they know they can clear. You seem to take it a bit further and make things that help you (and others) increase your own skills. I think that's really awesome.
At my "local" spot there is one jump which is kind of like your goalpost jump, the only difference is that it's a lot tamer, wider and less scary. Still plenty scary (and exciting) for me though :P. Anyways, great video as always Eric! those nature shots with the rain are absolutely goregues! Love the down to earth style of content and attitutde that you have towards making videos. Keep it up!
As someone born and raised in the PNW, I love the rain. Especially after these last few years, rain is a necessary gift, not an evil. After doing so much camping, so much mountain biking, exploring so much of the PNW, especially west of the cascades, it's just home to me. The rain is a peaceful reminder of that.
I absolutely agree that you are a "maker" Eric. I also agree w/your sentiments regarding the weather. Here in VT this time of year it's mostly rain but we still hike with our dogs in the woods even if it's raining....they don't care and my wife says she' not a witch so she won't melt. Thanks for the video and continuing to give back with your building.
Great video Eric! So amazing, inspiring and mind blowing! Such an amazing video to get your mind out of everything that's happening outside and this video made me feel like I was in the forest than on a couch! And about loam, I heard loam is top layer first and then learnt that loam is mixture of sandy and clayey soil (I learnt it literally a week ago and as I was studying for my Science exam tomorrow reading all about loam and wondering where could have it gone wrong and then hearing MTBers got it wrong not the book😆😆was good) HUH! Why did MOUNTAIN BIKERS got it wrong?
That looks really fun. How much clearance is there from your handlebars when you're flying through the goal posts? I've had my share of tree strikes on my handlebars, but never when I was airborne fortunately.
guys i kind of think he should have 10 mil subs so guys help THIS BEST MTB BUILDER, SENDER, A SUB AND I WILL BE PROUD AND HE WILL BE THANKING THE WORLD FOR THAT MOMENT
Hey! I just heard you were at Sandy Ridge today! I'd love to show you some local trails if your still in town! Maybe even a couple secret gems👌😉 holler back and let's make this happen! SodirteMTB is doing some great stuff with our community out here
LOAM~ Killer dirt!! from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania Racing MX now MTB The best dirt that any MX track could have. Is Loam Clay? If riding a MTN Bike? It is the best to ride on aswell
Hi Eric, i really enjoy watching your (an Yuka's) Videos about Trails and Trailbuilding. I always wonder how long you are building at one featrure. The timelapses do not give an impression of how long you acually built at a feature. Can you give me some times? Thank you!
I found your channel a few days ago, I'm kinda binging your vids :D I got into game programming 5 years ago and now I'm working 45-50 hours a week on my PC, I understand what you where talking about. Last year I bought my first Mountain bike and I love the hobby and beeing outdoors finding new friends. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your story!
I like when you said podcasts sometimes stick to a certain place that you're working on. I have a very fond memory of going on a hike on my birthday and listening to Dr. Phil on Joe Rogen. Now everytime I think of that trail, I think of Dr. Phil.
You are my comfort channel. I love all the videos you make, and you really, truly inspire me. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate you and your channel
So I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to pain. But I love mountain biking, even though I go on very basic trails. You introduced me to mountain biking, and made it look easy. It’s not so easy. Do you have any tips?
@BCpov - Have you always had an interest in editing and creating videos? You are a great story teller and something about your narration/editing flows well. Im wondering if this is a life-time of experience Im viewing here or if this is something that can be learned?
Hi Eric! My wife Siobhan and I chatted with you in the parking lot at Sandy Ridge earlier today. It was fun meeting you and thanks again for the stickers!
jesus. Dude you're a youtuber. Whats with these videos becoming more preachy and less riding. Also what is up with the kid, he been in a bunch of vids and only now mentioned and not even go into detail. Seems sus.
Hope you are staying safe down there with all the flooding and mud and rockslides, Eric and Yuka! Wonder if you still have the same opinion on the rain now after what happened last Monday.
@BCpov you might want to amour the bottom of the takeoff (especially the inside left bit} as it looks like a water trap even with the drainage line you cut in, by amouring youll firm up the ride at that point and remove some of the sponginess thats robbing speed for the jump and increasing its rideability in all weather, keep up the good work and happy building
What you said about the content of the podcast “sticking” to what you create is so true. I don’t know why this happens, but it must be because your mind is sort of doing two tasks at once.
This video feels a bit more on the personal side of your narrative, which isn't bad, it gives a different perspective on the things you do and as a web dev I know the feeling about the screen and all. Thanks for sharing!
Hey man just wanted to tell you how good your videos are, they make me feel so cozy and safe. And I just really love it in every way. Keep it up man! I love you
I definitely know one thing Snow or a clear skies I know of one person who should be jumping on a plane and exploring that neck of the woods you are showing because I tell you right now his name is Thomas Heaton the photographer and believe me he is damn good at his job and what he loves the most is rainy ancient Forest the exact same that you have because there are so many photographs it will make his head spin
This is the first time i saw your face, and im kinda suprised that how old you look, considering old in this situation as older than like 20 years old, since you voice sounds so young, im happy to know that there are all so many people with different ages that like this exact sport
Great to hear you have a more real conversation about being out in the nature, even in poor conditions. It's definitely necessary for our mental health. I'm a 9-5 office guy, and definitely feel that urge to get out and get away from the monitor.

As an aging trail builder, I’m constantly building things I’m not sure I can ride, or ever will ride. But someone will!
Can't leave something unridden that you've spent hours on building! That's my mentality haha
I'd say goalposts offer serious incentive to not fail.
Really cool to learn a bit about your past and what you did before UA-cam and this! Awesome video!
At my "local" spot there is one jump which is kind of like your goalpost jump, the only difference is that it's a lot tamer, wider and less scary. Still plenty scary (and exciting) for me though :P.

hello there Eric, will you do a long term review on the highlander and how it compares to the forbidden?
Really loved the part about enjoying the forest and reflecting on how you want to spend your time, especially with those cinematic forest shots!
Just made my day!
Awesome build! I also like the creative part of trail building, you got to use both mind and body to make something nice, fun and rideable. 🙂
Really enjoyed the self reflecting aspect of this video. Looks like you're really enjoying the outdoor life! Awesome stuff.
Your videos are better than Netflix, thanks for inspiration

You doesn’t post video every week but when you post one, it’s so good! Keep the good work!
What a cool feature. Loving these kinds of videos! Keep up the good work
your best video yet. personal with fantastic editing. nice work Eric.
Duff-initely a cool feature!
Great video, Stay safe out there @BCpov so much going on right now.
I hope you, Yuka, and Stone Starlett were able to ride out the Pineapple Express.
1:28 that ain't football, it's american handball. There are no feet involved..
I liked the dialog of this video; it was great hearing about your past life.
I reallly enjoy watching your Videos. I am also a trail builder and you always motivate me to build new features. Greetings from Austria

"They teached me how to ride, they didn't learn to me how to science"
@@3verstorm Dude, Cool down. I just telling him that his point is right and you can take it if you want or just leave it!
Hope everyone in BC is okay from all the flooding
My friend said that you worked with his dad.
I love your trail building videos 👍
sick dude, hopefully im going on vacation to Canada next year, ill definitely check out your trials if i get the chance to!
near which village do you live the closest
How’s the flooding there?
That looks really fun. How much clearance is there from your handlebars when you're flying through the goal posts? I've had my share of tree strikes on my handlebars, but never when I was airborne fortunately.
I've had tree strikes that sent me airborne. :-D
How are you doing from the flood?
guys i kind of think he should have 10 mil subs so guys help THIS BEST MTB BUILDER, SENDER, A SUB AND I WILL BE PROUD AND HE WILL BE THANKING THE WORLD FOR THAT MOMENT
Best storytelling and cinematography of the MTB channels that I following. Great job Eric!
Nice one. Really like your video strukture and the editing man!!!😂

I get really excited when I see other channels trying out your trail. Also since you had a clip of my alma mater in there, Roll Tide!
LOAM~ Killer dirt!!

The best dirt that any MX track could have. Is Loam Clay?
If riding a MTN Bike?
It is the best to ride on aswell
Could you link the podcasts you were listening? I've got curious...
Love the content man! keep it up! Your the reason i started mountainbiking! i just wanted to tell you that i appreciate you getting me in the hobby!
Always such captivating film making. The narration, music, and cinematography all come together to perfection.

Coming close to 10 years in the 3D Animation industry.. I might need to start thinking about jumping the board and going full MTB!! The dream!
I found your channel a few days ago, I'm kinda binging your vids :D I got into game programming 5 years ago and now I'm working 45-50 hours a week on my PC, I understand what you where talking about. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your story!
If only someone could make a realistic MTB video game that allowed you to feel what real POV biking is like. Descenders is just so meh.....
I'm watching this while 3D modeling :'D . I understand that sculpting something that isn't pixels, can be very satisfying.
I like when you said podcasts sometimes stick to a certain place that you're working on. I have a very fond memory of going on a hike on my birthday and listening to Dr. Phil on Joe Rogen. Now everytime I think of that trail, I think of Dr. Phil.
Try to whip it😇
Stone starlets baaaack!!
Hey Eric,
Can u please shout me out I’m a big fan of your channel and I am a mountain biking channel too, I want to have a popular channel like u.
You are my comfort channel. I love all the videos you make, and you really, truly inspire me. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate you and your channel
Worth 3 thumbs up. Hope Stone Starlet survived all the rain last weekend because it looks like your new jump could use some drainage. Cheers.
Just found out my aunt decided to retire...in Abbotsford! I'm like, Oh! I know where that is!
So I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to pain. But I love mountain biking, even though I go on very basic trails. You introduced me to mountain biking, and made it look easy. It’s not so easy. Do you have any tips?

"LOAM"... wrong indeed! Nice to see you clearing that one up!
It's good to see the creative process of adding a feature to a trail. I usually watch people bomb down them rather than make them. 👍🏼🙏
Seems sus.
Thanks for the video! Keep em up during the slow season. Hopefully the flooding doesn't mess with you guys too much.
Hope you are staying safe down there with all the flooding and mud and rockslides, Eric and Yuka! Wonder if you still have the same opinion on the rain now after what happened last Monday.

i have £70 budget and i need knee pads and hopefully elbow pads. what would you recommend?
Curious, does anyone have a link to those podcasts Eric mentioned? Google search failed me...
What you said about the content of the podcast “sticking” to what you create is so true. I don’t know why this happens, but it must be because your mind is sort of doing two tasks at once.
Wtf, these videos didn't show up eventho I was subscribed.
Thank you for the video
Love the videos! I would definitely say you are a videographer as the quality of your video production is very high! Thank you for all the content.
I love you
How has the rain from all the flooding in Abby affected the trail? Makes sense that the road is probably not accessible right now anyway.
Im a more beginner mountain biker (biking for many years but still more amateur), where do i start for doing features
I love your vids
I definitely know one thing
Snow or a clear skies I know of one person who should be jumping on a plane and exploring that neck of the woods you are showing because I tell you right now his name is Thomas Heaton the photographer and believe me he is damn good at his job and what he loves the most is rainy ancient Forest the exact same that you have because there are so many photographs it will make his head spin
Great video, love the commentary too! You are definitely a maker! -- from Sebby and Phil
You should add a skinny to a balance beam, then a drop off from the balance beam into a landing that goes directly into a small jump!
This is the first time i saw your face, and im kinda suprised that how old you look, considering old in this situation as older than like 20 years old, since you voice sounds so young, im happy to know that there are all so many people with different ages that like this exact sport
Yes and Inspirational Maker. Thanks for sharing Eric.
The penalty for hitting the post on your jump is certainly more punitive than hitting an upright with a football ;-)) Now to name it.
I hope you’re good there in BC with all the rain! I’ve heard there has been a lot more coming so good luck!
Loving the coastal bc vibes living in north van myself. Hope you are doing well with all the flooding
BCmot makerofthings
I love this video so much, with the rain and wet dirt and your speech it was all just so calming and inspirational. Keep it up!
You ever do any riding on Vancouver Island, we got some beautiful and insane trails down here just kinda a dying out sport in my town
Maybe against the trail drowning you can put tubes right before the lip.
It looks like the water is not going away there very well
when he started talking about podcasts i was just waiting for him to mention a sponsor lol
Love these videos Eric. It’s good to mix the riding videos and trail building.
I love ur videos and it also inspires me to make a trail and ur a really cool UA-camr just letting you know :)
great video. feel like you could catch a little. more pop off jumps. if you compressed into the lip a bit more
This is actually one of the best youtube videoes I have ever seen, Thanks Eric love your vids
Your trail building videos are very cool! Excellent job out there!
Video quality is improving so much great job 👍
This is one of your best work yet! Damn nice feature on the trail and great story telling in the video!
"stay optimistic about the rain" while there's literal floods in bc, not so classy!
YEESS HES BACK TO THE TRAILL🔥❤️🔥🔥
The rain was not that kind here in Abbotsford this past week! craziest flooding I have ever seen here
Brown Pow is called Duff? Someone has to give a new name worthy of its status
What do you pack for food when out trail building? You must burn through a ton of calories not to mention get cold in the rain.
I loved your more casual vibe / talking to a friend feeling of this video!
Will be interesting to see if your view of rain changes with all the flooding we've just had
Hi!
I think its super cool that your outside doing what you love, and not sitting by a computer like you used to be
