Metallica (metal massacre) ~ Hit The Lights

- In early 1982, Metallica recorded its first original song "Hit the Lights" for the Metal Massacre I compilation. Hetfield played bass on the song and Lloyd Grant was credited with a guitar solo. Released on June 14, 1982, early pressings of Metal Massacre I listed the band incorrectly as "Mettallica". Although angered by the error, Metallica managed to create enough "buzz" with the song and the band played its first live show on March 14, 1982, at Radio City in Anaheim, California with newly recruited bassist Ron McGovney.
man this is the No Life 'Till Leather version
this is a true artifact! ultra rare metallica!
This is actually the second recording, which was used for the second pressing and up of MM1. All of the solos one this one are Dave Mustaine.

I love Mettallica! 🤘🏻
When I was first turned on to metallica! I could hear NWOBHM bigg
@DisposableHeros423 No, I'm pretty sure it's King Diamond of Mercyful Fate. You should know that if you read Enter Night.
Classic Mustaine!
@swordisprostick James is 17 here :)
Hetfield hated his vocals on the first pressing for this compilation. This later version was supposed to be an 'improvement'.
Indeed. In fact, even when his voice sounded more "mature", James thought Metallica could have a better vocalist(around 84' if I remember well). Then they spoke with John Bush, from Armored Saint, about the possibility of him becoming the new vocal. Hetfield would, then, become just the base guitar. But Bush refused the offer since his band's pals were his childhood friends.
Two words: King Diamond
I think this is No life 'till leather version
WOAH. Vocals are WAY different.
Is this from the First Pressing?
