Any tips for doing this with curly hair that doesn't really separate into strands without yanking it with both hands and all the thoughts and prayers in the world? That's the issue I run into, I need both hands to separate new strands and lose track of the old ones.

For anybody whos arms get tired before you finish! :
Just get a hair band (put on your wrist before you even start braiding) tie your hair where you last stopped braiding and then rest your arms once the hair tie is securing your half done braid once they are rested take out the hair tie and began braiding again.

That's awesome! I feel so masculine with this braid, it's a shame I can't do it on myself yet!

I was thinking the exact same thing! Especially when it has over 1 million views! I have watched so many many of these. And tonight you just made the whole thing makes sense in my brain and it looks beautiful. I had really given up hope a few years ago of ever being able to do this. My daughter French braided her own hair last night so I was inspired to try once again and then I found your video. Thank you for giving me a new style to do finally! I love this and I think everyone who doesn’t know how to braid should easily be able to figure it out from this wonderful tutorial! Much love! I’m in awe!!!

At 25 seconds in I'm already failing haha! I may just not have enough dexterity to keep hold of the three separate strands. Will keep practicing!

I can’t even hold the 3 strands separately without tangling them all into one

I am 24 years old and have never in my life successfully French braided my hair. I have looked up tutorials before but I could never wrap my brain around how to hold the sections and keep them organized. Today I found this video and on my first attempt after watching it I have successfully French braided my hair!!! I'm absolutely thrilled! I was not in the slightest offended to be given the exact same instructions over and over and over because that is exactly what I needed. She explains and shows everything very helpfully. Thank you!

I’ve tried to figure out French braiding before and never managed it, and for some reason this video just made it click and I just French braided my own hair successfully for the first time in like five minutes, so thank you so much for making this!

Ok, I have really short hair and this helped me to figure out how to french braid properly LITERALLY within the first minute and a half. Thank you, you have no idea how accomplished I feel.
