This is my full review of the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch! I have been waiting for a traditional-looking smart dress watch that also acts as a smart device for quite a while, and I think I might have found it! After the unboxing, I have done a walkthrough of all the features and settings after setup! Customizable bands, and faces, and fully functioning Wear OS (Google's wearable software) gives you workout modes, sleep tracking, heart rate, and SPO2 blood oxygen level monitoring, and much more! It might be the perfect smartwatch currently available for me, but is it for you? Best smartwatch 2021 / 2022? Let me know what you think!

I love my Gen 6. It makes the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic seem like a toy I would give to my children. And believe me, I gave the Galaxy Watch a solid chance. Gen 6 is just superior.
The design is better. But the software needs to update to ware OS 3.
If you have all the time in the world looking for a charger ..
@@Eaglebird8853 It’s going to take “all the time in the world” to charge it using reverse wireless charging on most phones, too. Also, while it is convenient to charge the watch up on the back of your phone, that also means you can’t use your phone.
I like the gw4 classic more. It a perfect blend of this and minimal smartwatch design

I love mine, but it kills me that in later Gen 5 firmwares, you could double tap the upper button to launch Google Pay (and free up the lower button for something else) Why the hell Fossil took this out in the Gen 6 is beyond me!

I think The fossil gen 6 is an impressive piece of tech for the money, yet it's 2023, can't we get rid of that black bezel and strap a nice OLED there, stretched all the way to the edge? It would look amazing and at the same time it would take advantage of the full area of the watch, so a good usable screen/body ratio. And we need hundreds of watch faces and a complex creation tool (gyroscope reflexion settings, colours, sizes for everything, tesselations, widgets with transparency and all resizeable etc. ) Please Like👍 if you think the same!
It is a watch worthy of the name.
Just got the Gen 6 on a great black Friday deal and I have say, I like it. It replaces my original Ticwatch Pro and it works so well. Great battery, Fit tracking works so well and it is so responsive. I'm happy with it, regardless of the missing WearOS 3.

Huawei GT series is 2 weeks. Also just as attractive. You have to ask do you really need apps when you have a phone? I decided 1-2 days sucks.
One day battery life for a watch is plain unacceptable now when watches like the trex fitness track better with atleast a week of battery life. I love the design though!
Yeah - I really don't want to charge my watch every day.
Really like wear OS, but T-Rex and Garmin instinct has way better battery life - like it should be. I know that Instinct doesn't have a fancy color screen. 🤔
I changed my mind. This one looks even better than Huawei Watch GT 3 and 3 Pro.

The watch looks good but why buying a watch that forces me to adapt my routine due to very poor battery performance? It is like buying a nice electric car with 50 miles autonomy just because it looks good.
Try the Garmin MARQ Adventurer. It's going to ruin every other smartwatch you have even used

I've come to the realisation that I liked the look of my Gen 5 Carlyle HR more than my Gen 6. Can't go back to that battery life though.
I do find it weird they went with 42mm and 44mm instead of 40 and 44. Seems to close to bother

I have a question after this review how do you feel about the Fossil Gen. 6 now do you feel it is still reliable? I'm only going to use it for counting my steps and possibly just a few other things. I think for the price it's not a bad deal compared to the prices of other smartwatches now so what do you think about the reliability factor??

Fossil gen 4 was my first smartwatch I brought when i had an android phone this watch doesn’t go well on iPhone though but for android fossil smartwatches are the best
My old galaxy watch has better os better phone app more battery Way more features than this one lol
This would be my first smart watch so I don't know nothing about any of it. But I think I'm going to order it. I don't wear it at night to sleep in. I just wear it daily as a watch. Just wanting more.
How does its brightness compare to galaxy watch 4 classic?
3 ATM or 30 meters is plenty of water resistance to take a swim with this watch
Personally I would prefer something less flashy looking ... something like the galaxy watch series which have always been my go to ever since the gear s3 . But apart from that still a great watch !

@@harikrishnaraja8462 looks like it was 2018, I picked it up on the second hand market around a year, nearly two years ago now. Laggy as hell at times, battery is shot too :') it had a moment of not charging the other day, I haven't used it daily due to the battery not lasting that long - could honestly just be the fact it's been well used and had plenty of charge cycles :)

the battery life doesn't sound bad on this. I have to charge my Samsung Watch 4 Classic every day and it takes about 2hrs to fully charge.
It's only bad when you compare it to the competition that doesn't have wearOS. I'm getting 2 weeks out if my Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro. I don't use my watch for NFC or replying to notifications so that watch is the clear winner for me. My back up go-to watch is my Gear s3....such a monster watch.
@@darpinian1 I got the gen 6 and the battery is awful. My galaxy watch is is old af has way more features and the battery is better. My fenix 7x just kills both tho lol
@@jarlofrivia Fenix 7 is a really good watch. I tend to think that I just don't want another thing that I forget to charge that's why I choose my Huawei watch Gt 2 pro . I charge it for about 30 minutes every other week and it never dies. And it's a beautiful watch. I'm not sold on these new watches with Wear OS and 1-2 days battery life

I been swimming with my Gen 6 but I do have to clean it after I used it. I would not recommend it in salt watch because you are just asking for trouble. I personally think this watch is for fashion sense then a more activity watch. If you want a activity watch… I would stay with Coros or Garmin watches!

Thank you for the video! I would like to know if there is a way (preferably DIY) to adjust the strap size. The metal strap is long for my wrist, and I need to remove two of those links.
I removed links on my Samsung same as normal watch strap

I agree! I love my Fossil gen 6 and I used this more compare to any of my smartwatches that I have. I also have to agree about the charging of this gen 6. It does not bug me like the Samsung Z Flip 3 battery. Haha… What is your favorite thing about this watch?
it's not an issue until you play with the competition. I'm on 2 weeks without a charge on my Huawei watch GT2 pro. 38% still left. It's a good feeling when you just NEVER have to look at your watch battery life.
What are your thoughts 11 months later, is it still worth it? :)
@@magalimasson9472 I still love it. Charging it while getting dressed and it's fully charged. No issues at all😊 its the looks that I really love and using alexa.
@@tmomo7265 I was thinking of the new pixel watch and I just find it SOOO ugly . It literally look like a potty training watch I had for my kid a few year ago LOOOOOOLL. Sorry to ask you more questions but The main reason I want a smartwatch is to be able to sync my android phones alarms to my watch. Is this possible with the Gen6? (I looked at Garmin's watches before but was told it wouldn't do that) So I wouldn't have to always carry my phone with me . I need to still be able to have the alarms on both in case I don't have one of the device with me though. Like if I could see, snooze, or mute my phone alarms from my watch, is this possible?. I can't find anyone talking about this feature and never owned any smartwatch.

Hahaha, no, not a Huawei employee but I can understand your thinking! Just a regular bloke who likes a bit of tech. I am a great huawei fan and was really p***ed off when trumpy did his thing. They make great hardware on all things they make but with no GPS then the phones are out for me. I tried the watch gt3 but the faces are optimised for the 1.39 screen so that's a no go. Ive tried several smartwatches and love loads but 1-2 days battery? Nah, rather have the design and battery of the gt2 pro. Looks great, feels great and lasts 2 weeks easy on one charge.
Huawei gt2 is not a snartwatch just smartband pretending to be sth which IT isnt

Thanks for not bringing up the wear oS 3 update in this review. Every other reviewer puts down the Fos Gen 6 and brings that point up a million times in their reviews.

@@smperl0c0 Yes and no. The reality remains that Wear 3 is not out yet (other than on Samsung watch 4, but its got the Tizen skin. The only thing google about it is the play store.)
With that reality, it makes no sense to review these watches (which WILL get the update middle of this year) and complain about it not having wear OS 3 constantly.
It's nice to see the watch and how its hardware performs. With Snapdragon 4100, its going to be ultra smooth with Wear 3.
It's already nice seeing how smooth things are with the Ticwatch pro and E3 with the same chip.
At the end of the day, there is no right and wrong I suppose. Just a bunch of differing opinions. Lol.
I just enjoyed this review as he didn't bring up that point. Every other review video became unwatchable for me as that's all that was constantly addressed. Review the WATCH! Not the software it will get in the future.
I had LG watch urbane and replaced strap for stainless steel bracelet. It looked great back then. I hated the need to charge daily and after WearOS major update there was a noticable slowdown. These watches have in my opinion max 4-5yrs of life which is a shame. Another gadget.
Lg urbane was amazing. Exactly what I was looking for back then. Sadly it lasted for 3 years only.
Looks nice but I still think the tic watch Pro 3s are the watches to beat at the moment with 3 day battery life due to the 2nd screen.
I do like the look of this watch though looks stunning.
Take more than 2 hours to fully charge the watch, that's too long.
@@riemikes What did this warch or the TicWatch. Mine doesn't seem to take 2 hours to charge but I only do 3 min daily ones anyway when I get up and have a shower I put it on charge. Rest of the time I have it on.

@@harryvlogs7833 na ,I used tick watch e3 and that 4100 is super smooth ,, 12 NM or 5 ,you still get only 2 days from it ,buy tick watch pro 3 it will give you 5-6 days and has SD4100 ,it's buttery smooth

No one is sleeping in that tin can and no one is gonna use it as a fit tracker as it’s like about six ton lol. Looks good but useless as a fitness or health watch.. apple are far better and smarter looking.
