Not only did these two ladies manage to tie each other FOUR times, one of them also breaks off one of the pegs on the wheel! Airdate: October 4, 1985 (#5825D)
Pretty soon the wheel would have new metal brackets mounted to anchor every peg securely. The dividing lines on the wheel would appear thicker than usual.
I saw this live. My mom let me stay home from high school that Friday. It was my uncle's birthday too. It was 1985. The blonde lady won when he hit 15 cents beating the other lady who got 5 cents.

Everyone asking what the odds are, if Maureen is consistently exerting the same force that causes a perfect full 2 revolutions each time, the chances are very high. Have maureen keep spinning, and you will see she will hit 2 perfect revolutions more than not. This whole ordeal was made possible only because of Maureen. 😅
Oh my gosh... that alone is worthy of a gold star episode right there. And you're right, Y&R and other soap operas will not be seen today so that we can see the rest of these fun spinoffs.
Love when the spinoffs get so long, Bob starts mentioning they won't be able to show Y&R today just so they can finish this episode of The Price Is Right! Way better than the heavily edited garbage we see with Drew Carey..
Some of us on the east coast never understood that joke because there was a newscast (and local farm show for the affiliate where I grew up) between TPiR and Y&R.
Well in fairness, today's hour long time slot only allows an average of 42/44 minutes without commercials, so it's not exactly something the show can control.
Through the "Barker" Era, not only was four ties the record during the big wheel segment, but it was also the number of times all four contestants overbid as well.
@@ajk Not sure. I don't watch it as much during the Drew Carey era but if it did it would more likely be edited for broadcast since the timing of the show has been 38 minutes for the past 25 years (compared to at least 48 prior).
I remember when the contestants didn,t get that wheel all the way around & Bob Barker would jokingly say in his almost anger type voice--NOW YOU GET THAT WHEEL ALL THE WAY AROUND OR I.LL KICK YOU IN THE ANKLE!!--WTF?! 😂 HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA!!
there are 20 spaces on the wheel so there's a 1/400 chance that you'll get a 2nd spinoff a 1 in 160,000 chance for a 3rd spinoff a 1 in 64,000,000 chance for the 4th spinoff
@@nextbarker2702Unless Fremantle changes their minds and makes a compromise to show episodes with Bump uncut even if it has to require an edit/disclaimer. I highly doubt it.

Maybe not this one but a couple episodes with bump got blocked on UA-cam and with 10 playings with that game coming I think they are trying to work around it.
@@somerandomgameranimator4481It would be, because if the first one registered a 95, if that was set to 0, then the other player would win by default, because anything would beat 0.

I sure Bob was just kidding.
They spun the wheel so much it started to fall apart! 🤣

First time I've ever seen FOUR spinoffs; three several times but not four.
Kawana was so sweet and innocent, and the second lady was lost as to what the heck was happening... 😂
you have a spot on the sweet and innocents my goodness
This was awesome and hilarious! Thanks for sharing this! Bob and TPIR should've given them both $1000 just for this amazing spinoff.
Goodness, the reaction from the audience after that last tie -- might have been the loudest I've ever heard on TPIR.
October 4 1985 was an epic game show day. That same day on Jeopardy!, Chuck Forest retired as the biggest winner at that point.
This is giving me Press Your Luck vibes, when Cathy and Lori had their epic spin-off!
Fun fact: PYL was still coming on before TPIR at the time, another fun fact: PYL also was dropped a year later

One of the LONGEST Showcase Showdowns ever presented
on The Price Is Right during the Bob Barker heyday! 🙂🙂

Maureen did not know what the hell was going on. Barker had to tell her she was going to the showcase and she still looked befuddled.
It's a shame that Maureen wasn't the first to spin. She would have won $11,000!

That was so hilarious with a four way tie.
I've never seen this before thanks for uploading it
Bob looks like he’s had enough which would be me lol!!!🤣🤣🤣
As I like to call this, QUADRUPLE overtime. :)
They should have given them both 1000 dollars!
That’s one of the biggest roars in TPIR history
Wow 4x! I think they should bring Bob Barker on for his 100 th Birthday in December ... depending on his health. I would definitely watch it.
Unfortunately, he passed on 8/26/23 at age 99. 😮😢
Keeping my fingers crossed for this to be reinstated to TBE
And since they reinstated Bump, it should happen.
The many faces of Bob!
Bob knows what we're thinking.
Take those girls to Vegas. The odds of that are just incredible.
Both ladies shoulda received $1000.00 each for such an amazing spin-off.... Poor Bob Barker for being a damm tightwad.
RIP Bob You're truly missed.

I have to wonder if that is also the record for lowest score to get to the showcase showdown at 15c.
Well, when you have two beautiful women - one cute and compact, the other long and lean - whacked-out things happen!

I don’t think the blonde girl even knew exactly how she won lol
that curly hair chick is pretty. I know she old now but she pretty
The blonde lady won on the 5th spin, hitting 15 cents, the brunette hit 5 cents.
Still, they were only 2 frames apart.
I saw another set of repeated ties in which the nickel got tied as well once.
I'm surprised Bob didn't mention CBS cancelling Y&R

the odds of three ties in a row, in this wheel, are 1 in 8000. right? 4 times is 1 in 160,000.
Wow
I have always thought this wheel was rigged, I think they just wanted to see the girls spin again and again
Any math experts wanna do the odds of this happening?

Call cbs and tell them to extend tpir so young and the restless can happen 😂😂😂😂😂
That would’ve been awesome if they had both gotten a dollar after she said what she said.
This was hilarious next to the spin off in 1987.
Which we may or may not see on Pluto due to having Bump.

Epic?
Why it's not? It's the only known Showcase Showdown with four spinoffs.
Does that means they could potentially get unlimited amount of $1,000 if they both kept hitting 100 😱😱
Only if that would happen in 1975-1978.

Here's a solution to the problem with multiple spin-offs. After the first contestant spins a number, then that number becomes a '0'.
