I think it's Deuce McBride for the Knicks. He averaged 11 points on 41% 3PT shooting since January this year until the end of the regular season. And then he scored over 15 points in like four playoff games throughout the 2 rounds that the Knicks played in the playoffs. The 3-ball dropped off a bit to 37% but that's still pretty good for someone in his first real playoff run imo. This is all in addition to him playing terrific defense against opposing guards. I don't mind the Mikal shout for the Knicks, but I feel like more people are aware of Mikal's potential as a 3rd option, than they are of Deuce's potential as a 6th man now that DiVincenzo is gone.
McBride isn't as well known, which could mean he is more underrated, but the Mikal pick makes sense as he was basically not as amazing on the Nets as he was in a reduced role on the Suns.
As a Spurs fan I can confidently say that our most underrated player is actually Sandro Mamukelashvili. Dude is a hooper and a hustler and Greg Popovich's favorite player. He didn't get much playtime last season until the last leg of the season, but every time he played, he did something positive, whether it was rebounding, playing good defense, or shooting well from three. He's not a superstar and he's not a starter, but he has really turned into a valuable role player for us.
Honestly I'd probably say either KJ or Jeremy. Not bc mamu can't be a good role player and have big nights he's just a bit inconsistent given how old he is (26) plus anytime we lost KJ and Sochan got shit on for any little thing even if they had good games they'd still get blamed by the wemby glazers who only watch for wemby and turn off their brain whenever he's not on the court
As a raptors fan your Immanuel quickly take, and your take on the raptors in general made me fuvkin smile hard man. Thanks for actually watching raptors games!!
Totally agree with you on kj Martin. Sometimes he does gamble a little bit too much on defense and gets into foul trouble but he’s got the energy that anyone would want on their team
Thank you for the video Rusty. I'm not hating in any way here but I wanna point out that you listed Anfernee Simons as the overrated player for Trailblazers 3-4 weeks ago and then listed him as the underrated player on this video. I get the perception side but I just thought it's a bit funny. Dani Avdija and Toumani can also be in that same category as with the lack of a clear first option, I think they'll have great seasons.
Love the choices for the most part. I also like that you chose Herb Jones for NOP, instead of going with Trey Murphy III, who is probably no longer as underrated anymore. Give the defensive powerhouse his flowers :)
I think the kings will be playing Keon at the 3 for some rotations. We have no real forward depth right now, so we prolly gonna see a lot of 3 guard lineups with Keon ellis
im really high on ur kings pick as well. he really showed up last season & has been continuing that momentum in the preseason & im super excited to see how he develop
Idk, man. I feel like people talk about Bam being underrated constantly over the last couple years. I wouldn't consider him overly underrated. Maybe a little compared to previous years but not significantly.
Maybe I’m alone among Celtic fans, but Sam Hauser is lowkey damn near a starter caliber player and led the league in NET rating last year with 14.2. (I get it’s a team stat, but he’s on a team with CRAZY talent) That’s actually ridiculous. I get people will just default to saying that it’s cause he’s on a great team, which is OBVIOUSLY part of it, but he’s low key a RIDICULOUSLY good role player that would be awesome on any contending team. Just a supplemental player that fits most scenarios with his underrated defense. (He’s getting a little more off the dribble in preseason, although not too sure about that)
@@dansimpson5056 I will say as a JB fanboy, KP was almost as good as him through the first half of last season. I get the PP pick, but I feel like on this team specifically, he doesn’t get the reign to be as good as he can be. I honestly think Payton is just as good if not better than Cam Thomas and could average like 25 ppg if given the opportunity(team wouldn’t be great but still)
Shoutout rusty for asking for a like everytime, makin it a habit to like all the other videos I watch. People I subscribe to will surely appreciate your persistence!
Agreed about Sexton. Last season he was the difference for Jazz being outright near the bottom team, from them having again to basically giving away key players at the deadline, to get to near the bottom instead of playoffs or at least playin.
No way he chose Vassell for the spurs, I love vassell but he's probably the most overrated guy in the team. Not bc he isn't good but bc most people think there's a big gap between him and Keldon Johnson when in reality they're very close and often times he was as big if not a bigger part of a lot of wins last year. The spurs starting lineup went from being like 17th or middle of the pack and jump all the way up to a top 3 team with a 30+- net rating whenever he came in off the bench to join the rest of the starters
@@Sqeaky6969 I don't have stats to back it up, but just from watching the games, it felt like Devin was not only a more consistent scorer than Keldon was, but also less prone to causing turnovers. I like Keldon, too, but I think Devin has a brighter future. Of course, I could be wrong. I'd love nothing more than for Keldon to show off how good of a player he actually is.
"overrated videos do better than underrated videos"
guess i'm watching this one twice
I prefer this. It is easy to point to good players, the league is full of them.

As a Rockets fan, he made the first quarter a lot more fun during our tanning seasons 😅

I think everything that you said for GG Jackson can be applied to Cam Whitmore as well but this was a fun video and I like the Bari takes as well

Big pp is underrated too honestly don’t think kp is the right pick here it’s gotta be hauser or big pp

Hearing you say Boston is a squad of Swiss Army knives inspired me to dub the entire team the *Swish Army*
I think it should be OG Anunoby for the Knicks, that guy is a guaranteed efficient 15-20ppg with the best perimeter and interior defence
but everyone knows og annunoby is like that and no one is doubting that he can do those numbers, therefore makes him properly rated.
Most underrated ones for the Mavs is Naji Marshall - He'll be the biggest surprise next season
excited for Bam this season. really hope he does take a leap - i want him to get his flowers.
When you paused after saying for the Lakers....... I just knew you wanted to say Bronny without an ounce of sarcasm.
YESS RUSTY! Thanks for acknowledging Mark Williams. I really think he has all star potential! His flowers are due soon
Take this how you may, but you look like you could be a Pixar character
12:47 As a Sixers fan, I 100% take Ricky Council IV here
Due to his new contract, Wendell Carter jr can’t be traded until next off season. Locked in for the year
What happened to the 2k series rusty?
Not sure why these videos do worse than overrated player videos. These videos show us many of the players franchises should strive to keep.
Because most people prefer watching negative criticism than positive takes
Thank you for putting some respect on Khris’ name

We're all just fans Rusty, being in nba "discourse" doesn't make a difference
Aaaaaand it’s all over my screen
Yeah Mark Williams is pretty good
new thumbnail meta just dropped
It’s definitely gonna be Ryan Dunn for the suns
he aint gunna want to give that guy credit for a long time cause he gunna contradict every take he has had about phx
it’s tre jones for the spurs imo
For Can Johnson it maybe because he is paid 25 million a year, and people may not think he is worth that much
Aaron Wiggins saved basketball
Okc is like borissia dortmund of basketball 😂
