i haven’t commented on a vid in a decade, but i just wanted to say that this video was great! it’s rare that youtube recommends me content this good, let alone from a smaller channel. probably the greatest recommendation youtube has ever given me lol
I'm not surprised you still remember it vividly... I can't imagine how deflating it would have been to watch all those missed free throws and then Kenny hitting the three to tie the game as an Orlando fan.
@@talk_data_to_me - I lived in Champaign-Urbana, and my wife was a student there from 1986-1990. I saw the Rose Bowl football team (Jeff George), and the team that went to the Battle in Seattle. Nick Anderson, Marcus Liberty, Steve Pardo, and Kendall Gill. 2nd best team in the world, as amateurs.
He was an absolutely LAUGHABLE freethrow shooter. However Ibpersonally think of Shaq the same way Ben Taylor thinks of him. He is my 2nd best player after 1977right after mj. Mainly because his combination of size, agility, a high vertical, and his unselfish-quick thinking-low post passing to cutters and open shooters made him year after year the best centre in the league and nearly unstoppable .Only teams that gave Shaq any trouble were during his prime weree Portland, Sacramento, and Detroit. Id say that Shaq has bettwr defence that MJ obviously because of that long wingspan , hia weight , and his unusually high vertical. MJ only has two f those things lol. also abt him being clutch - for me clutch just means that you perform bettter in MOST playoff series than in comparison to how you play in the regular season. You could perform awfully but Id still call the person clutch cause they just perfoemed better than their even more awful regular season self. And mj and Shaq for the most part appeared to play at or above average diring the playoffs. I know Im way off topic here but did Shaq pay you to make this video? Because it came off a bit lile an advertisement rather than a video that really got deep down into criticizing Shaq for his below average shooting splits during differenr series or the Finals. I remember this other youtube, Bad Empanada , made a video where he proved that bill gates actually paid off kurzgegast (i dont really remeber how to spell their name butb theyre that german youtuber that makes animated videos babout real life topic with birds) saying thar global warming is less severe than it really it is and that big companies, like the ones bil gates owns, will come up woth solutions for global warming that we can purchase😂😒 But anyways thanks for the video.
Shaq did not pay me to make this video; but if you do I'll make another video criticising him 😉 I can neither confirm nor deny Bill Gates' potential involvement in this channel
if shaq hit 85% of his free throws, would he be the center 🐐? his only weakness...but all free throws count the same, clutch or not when with the suns, theyd foul him off the court, couldnt play him in the 4th, popovich had his team foul him as soon as the ball was inbounded, he didnt even have the ball....shaq threatened to retire afterwards
Probably. I don’t think 85% is very realistic though bc 85% for a big man especially of his time would have been INSANE. That’s like near Dirk/KAT level of shooting. However, Shaq probably could have been like a 65-75% free throw shooter and that still would have helped out greatly
Hakeem was not the league MVP in 95, the season Shaq's Magic lost to Hakeem's Rockets. 95 MVP was David Robinson, and Hakeem took it personal. Also, this isn't really a statistical exercise, it's an exercise in cherry-picking. Whose to say that none of the 7 free throws Shaq missed in Game 4 loss to the Pistons weren't "clutch" misses, just because he performed well otherwise in the game. No one says Shaq wasn't great, so by claiming even if he missed he played great you're missing the point. He didn't always hit em when they count, and you're just moving the goalpost for him on what's already an exceedingly small sample of only Finals clutch games ( he missed a bunch in non Finals clutch time playoff games as well ).
The fact that you were willing to discount his failure to make free throws each of the years he became a champion simply because he got the ring says more than you think it does. Shaq by far was one of the best basketball players all of all time, don't get it twisted. A man with a personality so large it was bigger than he is. My man was ass at the free throw line though. ❤
no of course he didn't... he shot like 50% that's awful for free throws. he cost the lakers so many games but was lucky to have kobe or horry to bail him out most of the time. so lazy

Holy crap he isnt lying
I was a fan of Orlando in the 90’s and I still remember vividly when Nick Anderson missed those free throws. It was a nightmare in real time…

If you only hit approximately 50% of your free throws over a 19 year career, obviously you missed free throws when they mattered. 😀
As a die hard lakers fan during the shaq/kobe era. We celebrated whenever shaq makes at least 1 out of the 2.
@@unw0ke 😆
I didn't realize until after watching the entire video that you only had 99 subscribers... Very high quality video!
Thanks for the sub!

This video deserves more likes...
Bro this was a really good video, subbed💯
A 70% FT shooter missing four straight will happen less than 1% of the time.
2006 Finals he made two huge ones in a row to help the Heat to win the game
this was a really good video! subbed
Thank you!
If this is the kind of content that this channel makes, then he should definitely get more subs. This is quality.
I love the graphics!!🔥🔥
1:43 is that Wilt Chamberlain below him ?
It is, good call!
In case you're curious, going from left to right for the four below 60%: Bill Russell, Dwight Howard, Shaq, and Wilt
