    Im new and the part about not using silicone oil in the barrel confuses me.
    It does make sense, but i have seen like 10+ cleaning/maintenance videos on youtube now, and ALL say that i should - more or less - hose the gun with silicone oil.
    For gas guns - All rubber seals and fittings on gas magazines, all moving parts gets the silicone oil.
    Airsoft GI even recommended Silicone for cleaning the barrel in their basic AEG maintenance.
    How do you stop the silicone oil from going from all the mechanisms to the hop up?
    This is ofcourse easier on an AEG, but wont the silicone oil be bad for the rubber fit and hop up (if it swells up) on blow back guns aswell?

    Lipo storage charge is 3.85v, per cell. Leaving a lipo fully charged longer than 3 days is bad for them. Get a lipo checker if you don't have one. They will last A LOT longer.

    Yes you do have to maintain it. How ever a to new looking gun in my eyes does look great but you did not use it very often and does not make you look like a combat vet. A bit of a "used look" looks cooler to me it means you and your gun have seen combat. Dont make it look brand spanking new like you took it out of the box that morning. Make it look like its your third arm and you sleep with it (sort off) it makes you look better in the field.

    Use silicone oil to clean your bucking first light rubbing alcohol until you can't see anymore dirt then silicone oil if you want only on the bucking then dry patch if you don't care about your bucking drying up and getting brittle listen to him but about 90% of the customers guns I work on they either never clean there guns or barley do and the bucking is where all their problems seem to start.

  • @jellmers
    @jellmers Рік тому

    Hi, having taken the inner barrel off is there a reason that you didnt push the rod through in the direction of the BB from the hopup out? With a real firearm, you should always clean the barrel in the direction of travel and so I wonder why you didnt do that? Even using the firearm technique of pushing the rod in and then attaching the patch and pulling back through.....

    • @Okie_Doki
      @Okie_Doki Рік тому +1

      The hop up is fairly delicate. There is a piece of rubber (the bucking) that contacts the BB every time you shoot. By cleaning from the direction of the hop up, you're putting more wear on the bucking. You generally want to minimize contact with the bucking when you're cleaning the inner barrel.

    Hi, Is there such a thing like resting the spring after using it, like you have to fire it once in Auto mode then fire once in Semi auto? Thanks

    • @SiegeAirsoft
      @SiegeAirsoft  3 роки тому +3

      It's a good idea to pop off a few rounds on semi with the gun empty to make sure the chamber is empty and to put the spring in a properly timed position for a semi shot. However, very efficient guns will still have a bit of overspin in the semi-cycle so the spring will always be under some form of tension in addition to it naturally sitting in tension inside the gearbox.
      In short, it's a good idea to do so, but not the biggest deal in the world.

    hi i like your video very helpful, so you mean no need to worry about the oil in the gearbox and no need to maintance the gearbox or disassemble it?, unless the airsoft (aeg) can't shoot or needs the gearbox to be disassembled for reasons it doesn't work?, because I heard from someone the gearbox the gear and moving parts need to be lubricated, maybe you can straighten it out a bit for me, thank you.

    • @SiegeAirsoft
      @SiegeAirsoft  2 роки тому +2

      You don’t need to do it if there are no issues. Also you will want to make sure you know how to open a gearbox or you might end up with more issues than you fix.

    Wait people put lube in the barrel! I came to airsoft from real guns and i figured you treat the airsoft barrels the same as your real gun. Light cleaning solution only. Only the FCU and slide rails need lube/grease. I can only imagine the dirt and debris buildup from lubing everything. Can u imagine oiling the inner barrel on an actual gun. A lot more fire would come out the barrel. It would burn off tho. But still omg htf did someone come up with cleaning using silicone.

    Silicon oil bad? What makes airsoft guns magically different from every other mechanical mechanism Im familiar with that it just collects dust and causes problems?

    • @bobbyhinson6862
      @bobbyhinson6862 2 роки тому +1

      The bbs work off of friction and oil makes it lose friction

    • @Elandur
      @Elandur Рік тому +1

      Nothing magic to it. Wet lubricants will attract dust and dirt in anything. In some situations, that's fine. In sealed mechanisms, or mechanisms with tolerances that allow for dirt to not affect it, it's a non-factor. But we're out there in often dirty environments, and dirt/grit collecting in the barrel could be an issue. A huge one? Maybe, maybe not. But it's a consideration for sure. Application and environment should always be considered when choosing a lubricant.
      But the bigger factor is that you don't want lubricant on your hop-up. As he covered in the video, rubber doesn't always play nice with certain compounds, and it also relies on friction to do it's job, so you don't want to reduce that friction with lube.
      Also, it's just plain unnecessary for an airsoft barrel.

  • @auschris9296
    @auschris9296 Рік тому

    you shouldnt be cleaning your inner barrel with the hop up on the barrel still you just pushed basically any shit in the barrel into the hop up rubber and material and dust from the crap shop towel you just used.

    • @SiegeAirsoft
      @SiegeAirsoft  Рік тому

      Ideally we could go into a lot of details like acetone soaking the barrel to get rid BB buildup. Doing a detailed clean of the rubber after removing it, as well as cleaning the hop unit.
      But this video is just something simple for most people to at least start maintenance on their gun. The small amount of debris that gets on the rubber is not a huge issue compared to most people that will likely never clean their gun because it seems to involved in the first place.

    • @auschris9296
      @auschris9296 Рік тому

      @@SiegeAirsoft i totally get that but if im gonna do what you did, i would stop before the hop system and then maybe come in from the back and push it out the front, and really unless you have a tbb or dropped the gun in dirt and mud you dont have to do this every game. tbb has to be cleaned more often, but i get ya
