Hey everyone, this is not a real dogfight. If you look at the bottom left on the hud, it says "SIM". That means its just a training dog fight. Still awesome.

It's a training. The master arm is in simulate mode, that allows to lock and provides hud symbology as if it was a real dogfight, yet doesn't fire any ammo. You can see that because 1. it shows "SIM" in the HUD corner and 2. the pilot had multiple occasions to shoot yet he didn't.
@@kibukaj2956 it might be training and it might be an actual dogfight we don't really know because Greek and Turkish pilots are told to dogfight on sim mode to not cause any war but I do hope Greece and turkey can have peace sometime
Unfortunately, as being a Greek my self, Greece has lost the upper hand against Turkey. When it comes to the amount of fire power that Turkey has, they have surpassed what Greece has. But that does not change the fact that Greece has far better pilots and a better trained air force. A negative aspect for Greece having Turkey come in and cause these confrontations with them is that Turkey is gaining experience through these dog fights.

You'd ideally want to be around 380 knots, 165 is SUPER slow. If the other pilot managed his speed better, that would be game over for the guy filming in this training scenario.
Yes but as we see their guns are on SIM... at least in BMS that means that you can't shoot even if you do pres pickle... There has to indicate ARM in order for the pilot to be able to shoot the target... So I wonder if in this case the "SIM" indication means something else that "simulate"
"SIM" means "simulation", or basically that even if they are in a lock they can't actually fire their weapons. This is a show of force, showing the Turkish army that the Greek pilots can execute you if they want. Obviously the Turkish pilot couldn't know that the weapons were on "SIM", that goes to show how much it takes to be an ACE and protect your country from aggressors at the same time. That time the weapons where on SIM, but they might not always be that way;
the only difference between Turkish air for and hellenics is Turkey doesn't share any video but you could be sure there are tons of videos but we won't share them because we answer with real things. Like cyprus war, mediterranean sea source operations. and now our navtex around meis island :) I hope you have tapes for them too because sharing a conflict that haven't any casualty is meanless.
No this is both missiles and guns, the mode is in DGFT which means "dogfight" and that mode enables the use of your A-A missiles and your gun. Anytime you hear "lock" or a distinct tone, that AA missile could have been fired if the weapons wasn't in SIM as sgtjonzo explaied above;

Is he switching to missle, or it automatically dissapears in this mode when the missle is locked on? And why is the missle only locks on when its almost a perfect gun soulution? Is the missle locking that bad that the plane has to point directy towards the other plane to have a lock?
it is not real dogfight from war ... look at HUD can u see (SIM) ? MASTER ARM is in SIM (SIMULATION) mode there is no gun no aim-9 sidewinder, can you hear beeeeeeeep its when he shoot

Im pretty sure they put it on SIM even in real life dogfights, because Greeks and Turks really don't want any mistakes happening between them; Only if they are instructed by the radio (I guess) they will turn it to ARM and shoot the missile. The switch itself only takes about less than a second, so its not a big deal... You literally just flip a switch and you are on ARM.

The fuel gauge on the F16 is on the front right panel just above the pilots right leg. The only fuel warning that would show up is a flashing BINGO if you were dangerously low

@@-_Nuke_- Actually switching the masterarm from sim to arm can fuck up the entire fight for the greek pilot since it requires him to take his hands off of the hotas wich can result in him losing track. Besides it is known by everyone that greece cannot initiate a war so they might as well just remote the masterarm switch from all their aircrafts because they will never be instructed to use it :)

The pipper was on the target numerous times throughout this video while he has the tigger depressed (black square top left appears), so that target was dead many times over (he even had the computed impact point very close to the cockpit at one time during the 'fight'...). Also, the video literally starts with the target already locked up and a valid Fox-2 being called (again, see the black square appearing before Rmin is reached on the DLZ, indicating a valid shot. The time to impact counting down, in seconds, is displayed as the second number just below the DLZ on the right side of the frame. In this case, with the Fox-2 launch occurring just a few frames after 0:00, it was indicating that the target would have been destroyed by 0:04 in the video.). The reason why he sometimes loses lock, is most likely just due to having to maneuver his aircraft outside of the gimbal limit of the radar, in order to stay behind his target, as near as possible to the Control Zone. Also, he quickly locks the target up again (you can see him slewing the radar around at the top middle part of the video frame, when the big cross-shaped diagram appears with the position of the small circle representing the azimuth and elevation of his radar) and so the target spends most of this video being locked by his radar. However, something that does seem a bit off to me is if this was a hostile interception between Greece and Turkey, like everyone seems to be commenting, then why does the pilot call Fox-2 over the radio, like they do in training, and why does the other aircraft's pilot call "Knock it off" at the end of the clip with the Greek pilot similarly acknowledging and breaking off the fight? Is this something that normally happens during interception of foreign fighters? It just looks a lot more like some kind of training flight to me, but of course I don't know for sure.
HUD BFM. terrible. greedy sloppy gun mech with not so much as a single bullet frame on the adversary. the frames at the end don't count... he only has 5 seconds of gun time which he spent well prior to the lucky snap he achieved at the end.

That's right, it's an exercise by HAF jets. However, SIM means that the missiles and gun are locked, this can also be the case with real dogfights ;)
It's in SIM because you don't want a war on your hands.
If it was in arm mode, the turk would be dead now. Greek pilots have orders to be in sim mode

It's on Dogfight override mode. Both the Sidewinder and gun is armed. Trigger fires the gun and pickle fires the missiles
