Barry is best Brute Wyvern, he's got such a personality and he's docile. Perfect example of his personality shining through; strip off his mud armour and wait for him to try to do his "shake off" move, where he'd throw off the globs of mud, and watch him look back really confused and give himself one more shake to try and get the mud to come off. You can just hear the "wha-why-where'd all my mud go.... I just wanted to get mud everywhere :'(" Plus I love how cat like he is when he's as he's making the mud tracks, he's so doofy.

Maybe YOU get docile Barroth's, but all of mine are extremely territorial to anything larger than a hunter. Kulu, Jyura, Diablos. He blows his horn and charges them head on. If there's a fight going on, he jumps in, scares off whatever I'm hunting, and then attempts to mash me into the concrete. I decided to take on Bazelgeuse during an expedition while I was tracking the Pink Rathian, and Barroth came over and charged the B-52 bomber so hard, he blew HIMSELF up and broke his own ridge. Like, I moved out of the way and got some clear distance between us and he CLEARLY went after Bazel.
@@Dinomatrix21 See, mine do still have a go at stuff when you are fighting, but mine tend to F off after the fight or even part way through the fight if they get their ass handed to them. Obviously Jyura and Barry are coded to turf war, as is Diablos (not sure about Black) but he generally only takes a few swings at anything bigger than him when it's not scripted. The only ones I've seen him properly go after is Kulu and Nightshade. As long as you don't accidentally clip him with the weapon he tends to just do his thing, even if his current thing is wailing on the monster you were just fighting.

Excellent video as always. A lot of people treat Barroth like the "boring" one you have to slog through to get to better monsters, but I like it. It's not flashy or gorgeous, but it's still a well designed monster with lots of thought put into it's ecology, which is reflected in its design.

I actually think it is one of the more interesting ones, since other look "just" like dragons (e.g. Rathian, Rathalos).
In all MH games i've played, I started on PS2 , then psp, I never thought that a monster was "boring". They have all been interesting and well designed.
I’ve been playing monster hunter for a while and yet Barroth is still one of my favorite creatures.
Not too flashy, like Kulve Taroth, but not too dull either. It has just enough intrigue to make hunters wonder if it is more intelligent than we give it credit for.
The Barroth knows to hide during the day, burying itself in mud, and emerges at night when the temperature cools.
I feel as though this Wyvern is considered stupid because of the class designation; Brute Wyvern; but in truth is a intelligent, gentle creature.
It will allow the hunter to walk alongside it, to follow it, so long as they pose no threat.
Barroth deserve more empathy and more research into their habits.

Barroth is by far one of the most interesting lookingbrute wyverns in the game, hes a freaking bulldozer, literally thats what hes based on.
He is big, tough and dumb as a brick. My favorite monster so far.
This, this is how I like your lore videos. You walking around, appreciating the Wildspire Waste from an observer's view. Observing the monster (Barroth) in its natural habitat rather than engaging him. These are your best lore videos. Make them like this! Love it!

Barroth is one my favourite monsters in monster hunter series, got a real buzz outa fighting this one for my first encounter. Well designed and dinosaur like, kinda reminds me of a Pachycephalosaurus!

Great video. Covering one of my favorite Monster, Barroth. I really like it because you get to fight it really early in many Monster Hunter Games and its just such a nice introduction to the Brute Wyvern Monsters. Keep it up and Im already looking forward to the next video :)

All we can do is hope that a tundra area will be added, but I find it somewhat unlikely

I love the Barroth, such a cool design. Fun to hunt too. If I just feel like goofing off, I head to his habitat and take him down, use the mats to build weapons I don’t use yet.

Thank you for doing a video of one of my favorite monsters!! Unfortunately all the monsters I'd like for you to explore the lore on aren't present in World. But it'd be Khezu, Gammoth, and Agnaktor.

Strawfoot Glad to see Barroth getting the love he deserves. He's my second favourite monster in the whole series. I like to think Barroth and Jyuratodus are like Gammoth and Tigrex, where the former are preyed on by the latter while they are young but once they grow up, the fear is replaced with rage. Maybe that's the reason why they protect herbivores (like the Aptonoth from the Jaggi), because they know what it was like to be helpless.
Darkrai the Dreamkeeper they do not protect herbivores they attack things that disturb them
Kian Hopkins I don’t mean to seem rude, but if the Barroth didn’t want to protect the Herbivores, it would attack them along with the Great Jaggi, since they were in the same spot. It’s not 100% proven, it’s just a headcanon with evidence to prove it. Like Elder Dragons loving the thrill of battle or Kirin being smart enough to not release its full power on those it fights.

I always believed barroth was a carnivore, using its massive head to blunt it’s prey, which is scary. I now understand it eats insects. Cool vid dude!
Holy frick, I had no Idea the Barroth is acutally passive to the us hunters! Everytime I went to the wastes to scavenge and I saw that bipedal hippo, I would immedeatly cower down and not make any sudden moves because I took its behavior from the first time we encounter it for granted (the monster codex is not helping either, "Brute Wyvern"). I really apreciate your effort as a fellow hunter in showing us more about these animals.
Those overgrown mudkips on the other hand, well, good thing my palico has a massive appetite.

Barroth was the first brute wyvern I ever faced, OG Mudboi made me fall in love with the species. So I'm tickled pink to you did a lore video on him! ^^ also did barroth win that turf war? Cause it looked like it won. (although he never wins against mudfish)

Jyuratodus isnt barroth's natural predator, its more like a rival for territory which explains the draw on their turf war
Barroth and Anjanath are my favorite brute wyverns. Their T-rex like designs and the hammerhead of the Barroth are just too beautiful and amazing. Must protecc and cap, not kil.
Meteaura22 the basic theropod design is millions of years older then Tyrannosaurus rex which was basically a child next to the others theropods in terms of age

I honestly wanna know if taming a barroth as a combat ride were possible how its defensive prowess and possible armor saddle composition could square up with the world's current ingenuity? In fact I bet there are a lot of questions as to how it be if you could train these monsters to be ridden into battle. "How to train your monster."

He's using the Sword of Sparda Charge Blade, which changes the Slinger into Dante's Nightmare Zero weapon from DMC.
Are brute wyverns dinosaurs? Or are they wyverns like the rathalos for example that have evolved to live strictly on land and just so happen to look like theropod dinosaurs?
ravager lizard There wyverns that have just evolved to living on the land. There small for limbs are due to the fact they don’t need to fly anymore.

Ever nptice even tho its an early monster thats easy to access and while not a push over but relatively easy its weapons and armor stay consistent throuout the game i fought and killed pink rathian with my carapace axe 3 or 4 i love this thing

It's the Dante arms. You get get it from the event quest "Code Red" which is up right now!

Docile? These things are territorial as hell. I’ll be fighting a Diablos and one of these jerks will fight it and then turn around and try to fight me and my group. They also B-line you if they see you and they refuse to give up a chase

whait they release monsters? i realy tougth that they just compleatly scavanged, used in arenas, or just keept them captive for resources( like saliva from deviljoe or others)
I think it's situational. If you read the dialog a lot of the arena monsters are actually bred in captivity. Thanks for the comment Breno!
