You guys are awesome. And the work you do is incredible. You deserve all the accolades. I keep sending friends your way so keep up the great work. Being from Canada I hope that some day soon I will be able to travel to the US to carve up your roads.
@@BoostBrothersGarage I have been researching for months now and feel like I have watched/read every single post made on turbo'ing the 07k. Not a whole lot out there. I am genuinely ready (time and financially) to turbo my 07k. I would really appreciate it if I could get in contact with you to ask you some questions regarding how to proceed. I have mostly everything "figured out" compiled from all the builds I've seen, but would greatly appreciate it if I could ask you some specifics. Thank you
The cast crank is actually really stout. I personally like the 08-10 as it has an upgraded timing chain over the earlier engines and a simpler oil pump than the later engines. But, you really can’t go wrong either way.
I’m not super familiar with the 924/931 torque tube but if it is the same as the 944 then you should be able to utilize everything from the swap kit and just modify or fabricate new engine mounts.
@@BoostBrothersGarage definitely something I will look into, looking to do an engine swap on my 931 and I’m a sucker for bolt on stuff lol the less headaches the better. I would like to swap an Audi AAN 5 cylinder in because apparently it bolts right on the 931 bellhousing but they are harder to find than an 07k engine
Ya I know about that "first 100 subscribers" deal. Wouldn't hurt if I felt better and made new videos though. Glad to see the car out on track... to touch on something we'd talked about before Mike, how did that size intercooler perform?
There are a ton of variables depending on power goals and quality of parts used (I.E. turbo). With that being said, anywhere from $7k to $20k. I’d be happy to help you plan your build based on your specific goals and budget.
Lindsey racing does not make LS swap kits. Renegade and TPC do. Regardless, it is not everything you need. Most people spend between $10k and $20k on their LS swaps. The guys that track them are on the higher side where as street driven you can by on the lower end. There are a ton of components not included in the swap kit.
Can’t stop watching! Covid hasn’t got me yet, but I’ve certainly got a case of Porsche 944/07K fever.
Haha, it’s definitely contagious!
This thing sounds SO damn good!! Glad to see you boys still at it.
Thanks man!
My dads 944 turbo hasn't ran in years, might have to show him this.

I really appreciate that! We are waiting for the border to open back up so we can take the car up for Speed Academy to do a video on it!
The engine 944 turbo's should've came with from the factory.
Agreed!
Particularly because the 924 first was equipped with an 4-cyl-Audi engine. So the way to equip the 944 with a 2.5l 5-cyl should be short.. 😎🤪
07k is such an underrated motor
Awesome! Great to see the 944 out on the track!
This has been an awesome project to watch. I want one sooo bad hahaha
Thanks!
Y'all should mic the engine bay next time. Adam lz does this in his vids and its oh so glorious
Can't wait to see more of this beast
Nice, I’ll give it a shot!

@@jakekrauss3273 Hey Jake! Feel free to email me info@boostbrothersgarage.com
It's about time to see more porsche.
MOAR!
I want to get a project car and definitely been looking at a 944
You won’t regret it!
Good job guys! 👍👍 You were around 4K subscribers when I tuned in. Just hit 100 subscribers myself recently.
That’s awesome man, congrats!
Great stuff!!
Thanks!
What variation of 07k do suggest for a turbo swap like this in the 944? I’m assuming the VW one with the forged crank?
The cast crank is actually really stout. I personally like the 08-10 as it has an upgraded timing chain over the earlier engines and a simpler oil pump than the later engines. But, you really can’t go wrong either way.
Another Kermit the Frog "Yayyy". Been waiting.
Really wanting to do this swap, I’m wondering if the kit will work in the 924/931 with some minor modifications
I’m not super familiar with the 924/931 torque tube but if it is the same as the 944 then you should be able to utilize everything from the swap kit and just modify or fabricate new engine mounts.

Are you guys still going to do the Audi B8 07k ??! Desperately waiting on that 😞
It’s collecting dust right now. It’s still on our build list but the shop fiasco has put a major damper on things lately.
where can i find the kit ya talking about cuz i have 83 944 would love to swap engines

Zero issues with IAT, Cooant Temp or Oil Temps! We made proper shrouds for everything before heading to the track and it all worked great!
@@BoostBrothersGarage good to know, Mike. Helps with my IC selection since I have limited space.
Don’t hesitate, should be great unless you really start pushing some power
@@BoostBrothersGarage Ya I don't anticipate taking it any further than his car is now. 1800lb cars with that whp are amusing enough.
100%
Will you go over 1 bar of boost?
Yeah, it was just a shakedown weekend. We typically run 16 psi on the street.
What transmission did you use i would like to try to fit this 07k into a supra ...
We used the factory 944 transaxle. For your application a Ford T5 transmission would be the easiest.
Do y’all still sell the kits ?
We do! We had to pause taking sales for a bit to get caught up but will be taking orders again soon.
@@BoostBrothersGarage haha okay, I still need a 944, is there any specific 07k I should source out and would one with high mileage matter?
I want to start saving up to do this for my 85 944 what am I looking at cost wise for this 07k build?
There are a ton of variables depending on power goals and quality of parts used (I.E. turbo). With that being said, anywhere from $7k to $20k. I’d be happy to help you plan your build based on your specific goals and budget.
@@BoostBrothersGarage including the 944?or just the swap/build
Curious question, how does the 07K build drive on the road day to day compared with the standard 2.5/ 2.5 turbo?
Love it 😍
it sounds like my Volvo T-5R
5 cylinder for the win!
I know you guys are German, Porsche boys but I can’t get the idea of 07k swapping an FC RX-7
I mean an FC is basically a 944 haha
How much does it cost for the 07k conversion kit
That’s a bit of a loaded question. NA swap is around $8k all in. Boosted swap is between $10k and $15k depending on what components you use.
@@BoostBrothersGarage thats a lot i think id rather go the ls conversion its 3k for a kit without the engine
Do some research before going that route, the overall cost for the swap is the same.
@@BoostBrothersGarage i looked at lindsey racing and it had everything u need except the motor for 3k

This swap seems really cool but seems much more complicated than an LS swap and probably beyond my skill level
First time I have ever been first!!!
