E36 LTW with an s54 is a great build. LTW’s are becoming more rare to begin with and with an s54 under the hood it’s even better. Driven and built some decent e36 chassis cars and his looks the part. Really digging what you guys are doing with these 944’s. The o7k seems like such a great alternative to the sad stock powerplant, plus the 5cyl sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing this!
So excited to see it on track, I look forward to making my 86 944 turbo a 07k! Congrats on a very successful day with it! Cant wait for the next video!
That new setup on the 07k 944 was rippin'! I will say though, the lack of coverage on that sweet Chevy SS in the background was appalling. I heard someone say those could run 1:52's at Mid-O...
You think this motor swap is more realistic comparable in price to a LS swap for a 944 Turbo that had an engine fire in need of a good swap. I love the idea of a I5 swap with a turbo.
So glad to have another video of yours in my feed! Welcome back!! It was also cool to see the PE3 Dash in action. So excited to get mine! Sorry about the issues on the car though. Nothing kills the vibe of a track day/weekend more than mechanical issues (which is the whole reason I’m 07k-swapping to begin with lol)
Thanks! The dash is great especially for the price. Once that tee got really bad we started losing pressure in the cooling system and the temp started creeping up. The whole screen flashed red and said “high engine temp 228” etc. Lots of ways to set it up with alarms and different fields.
@@BoostBrothersGarage that’s great! Considering my mk2 doesn’t have any warnings on the dash from the factory, the PE3 dash will ensure my swap stays safe 🙌🏻
We haven’t made a video yet but it’s coming. It raises the suspension pickup points to fix the roll center on lowered cars. Helps with traction on corner exit pretty dramatically.
Im really interested in doing this setup on my 87 944 turbo. Can a person hire you to do the whole swap or is it a kit that a person can just purchase? Also be nice to start with a fresh engine are they hard to get rebuilt
How much boost can 07k handle? Also I believe you want to stiffen up the rear and make the front softer to gain more oversteer. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Boost Brothers: Sorry folks, burnt out, can't do many videos! Also Boost Brothers: We back! Have an aural feat on us, also various camera angles and a tech teaser! *everybody liked that* One idea: I think using a non-360 camera for the rear suspension viewing is better. The de-360-ifying creates weird distortion artefacts, which make it difficult to judge what is moving and what is camera (at least for me!). And as always #fivecylinderisbestcylinder ;)
Agreed! I originally decided to do that hoping that I could see cars behind Alan and do fun stuff with the edit. Instead it ended up just being a worse shot than the GoPro would have been. Oh well, I’ll find some cool ways to use it moving forward!
Cheap things are made in China, not because China can't make quality items (although the quality still isn't up there with the likes of Japan, Germany, Korea and USA) I'd say it's far closer than many would like to admit. Most of what we use is made in China, we just notice the broken things and point that out "OH Made in China...no surprise there!" - but we never notice the stuff that works well and doesn't break. I think whomever decided to use a plastic part there instead of brass etc, was just asking for trouble by being cheap.
Seems like this 944 wasn't being driven flat out, either. More rpm left on the table, and lots left in terms of driving line, braking, and shifting. It is a test run, after all! New suspension, new season, etc... Driver, a good first tip would be to get your hands at "quarter to 3"... and from what I can see, use your left hand more when cornering to the right. Can't wait to see what this car will do as you sort things out!!
dang that 5 cylinder sounds nice!
Thanks! Finally loud enough with the straight pipe but kept a great tone
That 5 cylinder lays down a perfect symphony of throttle music.
omg the 5 cyl. puts the 4 banger to shame soundwise
this is literally my dream build. Modern interior daily making enough power to do rolling burnouts on pilots

Nice wheel, especially the lip! Thanks for keeping us updating and the new vid release!
Thanks! Definitely a great look for the 944
5 Cylinder, Front Engined Porsche. That's just awesome!
sounds incredible and its so zippy!! this is the new dream for me
Looking forward to the next video...

Hahahaha! I seem to remember someone not wanting to attach a GoPro to their windshield! 🤔
Nice! Looking forward to more.
Happy to see you back making videos! And happy to see the 944 back on the track!
Thanks, glad to be back!
Love the spare tire still in the back haha

The guy that engineered this kit only did so because he was so unhappy with his LS swap!
Great job Mike, good to see you again.
Sean
Thanks!

Glad to see you back at it!
Love your content! Please give us more.
Thanks, I’m on it!
Fantastic stuff guys!
Thanks dude!
Good to see you back, Mike!
Thanks!
Good Camara "onboard" position so many fail at that either putting it to far back, or at a wrong angle.
Thanks!
Hi, what are the turbo settings? Measurements and Brand? Congrats on the project, thank you.
Man this car sounds amazing hopefully one day I will swap my 944 with that 07k swap 😮
That just sounds too good
Awesome performance, were those cracks in the front rotors?
They are. They’ve actually been like that for years. I was concerned when I saw them but they have a ton of track weekends on them 🤷♂️
Sweet!! When do we get to see Mike behind the wheel?
I’m not sure? Probably 944Fest with this car but still not for a while with my own car. Too many projects!
Love the build. I have a Jetta with the 07k. Do you have to upgrade engine components before boosting it?
Thanks! Nope!
What is the revised suspension geometry? I couldn't find a video on that.
We haven’t made a video yet but it’s coming. It raises the suspension pickup points to fix the roll center on lowered cars. Helps with traction on corner exit pretty dramatically.
Good to see you back brotha! Hope family is well!! 💪🏻
Thanks man, same to you!
What else is needed not in your kits?
If you check the listing on our website I have a link to a spreadsheet that shows the additional components.
@@BoostBrothersGarage sweet gf and I are looking to start a youtube and want a motor swap or kitcar and this is 1 I like and cheaper than a ls !!!
So besides new engine, turbo, and muffler delete what have y’all done? Did y’all have much trouble swapping the engine
Woot. Get some!

How you gonna get the tach working so everything looks factory from inside the cab?
The ECU has a tach output we just haven’t hooked it up yet.
Put Michelin Cup tyres on! ALready you were able to follow the Cayman. With a better grip, you will be even faster!

Yeah I misspoke there haha. 20 psi is about the limit on a stock block. With forged internals they can make 1000hp.
Wow 20 is quite a bit for stock motor.
What's the yearly maintenance cost on a 944 like yours?
Pretty minimal at this point but most everything has been rebuilt or modified.

Would be Nice if the tach worked but either way cover up that damn speedo! Laps times will improve I guarantee it
We use the race dash for the tach!
I wanna do this swap as a daily driver
Car could use some more aero wiper blades
While not perfect, a lot of good data.
Plastic parts failure? that just means we need more billet parts
Exactly!

Have you guys tried Nitto NT01's?
Not yet but it’s on the short list as these 200tw Falkens just don’t cut it
stayed awful close to that gt4 , that car can move.
I think with the boost turned up it would have been a real dog fight!
@@BoostBrothersGarage Any estimate of RWHP at the boost level in the video (16psi?)
