I feel like Palethius doesn't get enough credit for bringing the chandwich to fruition. His "Revolution" bali is one of the first chandwich designs that I can remember.
I legit didn't even know that. Thank you for the information!
I agree, his hand work is also insanely good. Now he's reduced weight across his entire lineup so flippers should be happy.
@reviewforthetube6485 I was lucky enough to snag up one of his latest light/thin trainers and I haven't been able to put it down.
In my experience tap/play depends a lot more on the pivot system than handle construction. My sandwich AB on bushings has held a perfect tune for years, but my channel AA on washers will forever have tap & play
Awesome video man!!
Oh lord that mic on the table really picks up every touch 😂
Great video though!
Tryna increase production, but yeah it does! I'm going to try some new stuff as we go on
Loved the video 🥰
I don't speak English, but it's good because I think it's useful.
Good video!
The edit was actually funny not going to lie.
Tried to do a goof here and there 😅 happy to hear!
All we need now is a Bali.exe video
@@nilsirrah7672 what would that entail? 👀
One aspect I would add is the grip. Channel balis with flat sides can be pretty slippery, especially aluminum ones. I can't do murnax ladders on my squidtrainer for the life of me. The gap on sandwich balis provides some grip, kind of like milling.
Channel also adds quite a bit of material, which affects the weight. For aluminum balis, the extra weight is pretty nice, but for some titanium balis, the extra weight can feel pretty clunky, like on a chab.
I'm all up for Chandwich/Channelwich ! then you still get channel design but there's adjustable weights
It’d be worth adding a subsection on what the balis run on (eg washers, bearings, washer/bearing system), as this is the driving cause of play in knives. For example, a Mako will develop tap/play issues while an Antarctic will remain tight af for a while.
I was considering adding info about that, but since I have a pivot system video, I didn't want to make this too complicated. But you are right, a washer only channel will have play
personally the main reason i never buy sandwich balis are because the holes between the bits make the handle feel like it digs into my hands and it is just uncomfortable to flip
What was the black channel Bali? Love that replicant🤩
it's the maryn
What would the nautilus be considered? The aluminum is a channel, however it has g10 scales ontop. So is it just both sand-which and channel?
Is still consider it a channel because that's what the construction is. The g10 are called scales, like the replicant has
All of my channels: 💥🔪💥🔪💥🔪💥🚨🚨🚨🚨
Sandwich is the best BLT please.....oh
Turkey club beats blt!
@ROCCO Pazzo I've had one! I felt the jam was too much 😅
I will always and forever be a sandwich whore. Idc if it gets some play imo balis feel better with play and now we have amazing oil that always helps tolerances. Sandwich is coming back and most flippers i talk to prefer them. Do you know why? Because its physics, something more dense will always feel gravity and move worse then something less dense. A channel construction even at the ssme weight as a sandwich will always be more sluggish. It will not be the same thats all there is to it. Sandwich imo will always be the best for purely flipping. There is a reason why momemtum is better wnd it almost feels like it floats even when heavier aka reps. Because its not as dense of a structure.
