Oh I love the idea of this video. It would be really nice to have multiple videos like these. For example with washers/bearings/bushings or tang pins/zen pins. Keep up the great work :D
glad youre talking about this! this is a topic that a lot of flipper tend to oversimplify, but you talk about it very coherently with all the necessary details please keep making these videos man!
I personally prefer the simplicity of channel construction. Although I like sandwich construction for all of the modding potential. Also, I agree with many of the other comments. You should totally do a video on bearings, bushings, and washers. Different pin designs would be cool too.
I had a bad experience with sandwich construction handles when I first started flipping, when I found out that there were channel constructed handles, I always favored them over sandwich
@@sumusername i think that washers are very easy to get into tuning like you can just take a washer knife apart and reassemble without problems while with a bushing knife you have to retune it or reassemble the knife in the exact same way it was from factory
@@tuxedo1557 well I've used both and for my personal preference I like bushings more, with bushings you can tighten them almost fully and still be able to move while with washers you have to get it juuuust right or its either to loose and has play or its to tight and stiff
@@sumusername yeah they hold tightness much much better i said that cause i disassembled my naut and now it has awful blade rub on one side while with my squid trainer i just tune it every once in a while and it does fine
I was of the mindset “channel all the way” cuz of easier maintenance and less parts to worry about coming undone and such. The I got a Hom Prodigy Mod C and realized I was wrong. A good construction balisong is just gonna be that, good construction; Chanel or otherwise.
I got my first live blade today. Two months from being 18. My dad was chill with it. Spent over $200 for Atropos Kirat 2. My mother took it away. My day is ruined. I’ve had it two days. I’ll never see it until I’m moved out and on my own Health insurance. Just would appreciate some virtual hugs Edit: I was so excited for it for 2 months of shipping waiting
Sandwich is my favorite, even if the tolerances and tuning can be worse. You can customize the balisong with so many options, and make it more personalized:)
So if chandwich is like the "worst of both worlds" then where do speed channels sit? Is it "the best of both worlds" and actually has a lot of advantages or is it not that much of a difference?
i dont care if my knife is channel aluminium or sandwich titanium or practically a brick of titanium like the chab does it break if i drop it several times without deforming badly/straight up breaking? i am cool with it i wont be dropping it off a mountain or sonething but if it can handle that it be impressive
Woah when did the Bali community start treating channels as better than sandwich balis? I’ve always liked sandwich construction better for the majority of a decade now probably just for the customization and ease of maintenance. Like yeah I guess I understand the “set it and forget it” mentality of channel construction, for lazy fucks, but people who have handled a Bali for 10+ years, I feel prefer sandwich construction.
I actually broke my toe last night by dropping my balisong on my toe...lol. I should have watched this video sooner, and I could have saved my toe. Wear shoes while flipping, kids...lol🤘🤣
Hey will! Love the vids! Also, in your flipping video recently, that Etsy balisong you guys saw was a new one called the zippy, it's really neat, you should check it out on insta
If they're undersized when you fully tighten the pivots the handles will bind and not move. If they're oversized it will have excess play (in theory). I wouldn't get too hung up on play and blade rub, even if you get your balisong tuned perfectly it will just develop play if you flip it anyway.
@@user-ue6iv2rd1n "even if you get your balisong tuned perfectly it will just develop play if you flip it anyway." what is the reason that happens why if I tune it perfectly it will develop play ?
You shouldn't flip so much. I can't make out what any knives look like in any of your videos. They're hard to watch but what your talking about is relative. Sucks dude

Yes I would love one for those differences too

I literally was just about to look up a vid abt sandwich balisongs and my feed showed me this video you posted 4 hours ago... whattttt
I had a bad experience with sandwich construction handles when I first started flipping, when I found out that there were channel constructed handles, I always favored them over sandwich
Could you do a video on bushings vs bearings- I think that would be really helpful
AGREED THANK YOU, personally I love bushings but people say that washers are better so a video on that would be more than helpful

I have a question for maybe you next video, what are the difference between bushings and bearings?
helo can you sometime in the furure review the deimos curberus v2
Could you do a video on the different balances of a balisong?
Nice video man😎 I was wondering if you would ever do another Atrops Balisong review?
I gotta known what’s under the top bali mat is what I’m wondering? That box is hella thick.. what’s under the top mat? More balis? Boxes?
What's the second balisong you show in this video? It's super nice looking, and very quiet!
