This works well as long as the Melon canvas windows don't move or resize. I typically capture the entire canvas with black edges just outside to compensate. This way if I GO BIG or if more guests show up or if I need to change up the canvas layout to accommodate, everything stays visible.
Yes please show more of web based guest adding. I know it may be tedious being a great streamer like you are. There are just so many steps to understand to make this all happen in OBS. would Prizm Studio allow for some of the same functionality as shown in this video? OBS is so "under the hood" to me that it is fairly intimidating. Thanks for so many great tutorials Michael.
Love all the obs guest content. I’m really trying to get it to work for me. My only issues I keep running into is that my guests can’t see my scenes unless they head to the actual live stream (example: UA-cam) which has a BIG delay. I want my guests to be able to interact with clips and graphics I put in my scenes. Any tips on how I can get them to see them in real time ?
You have been tirelessly providing the best tricks. Thanks. Your video shows us how we can add guests to OBS thru Melon. However, there are few questions: 1. Is device capture better than the Melon window or browser capture? 2. I ran a hd OBS test record with Streamyard preview-only window capture and realized that the screen resolution was terrible in the output. Please advise. Thanks
@@MichaelFeyrerJr fair enough I often have events with 9-15 people on it and since discovering NDI support I would never go back . One person leaving or dropping connection would ruin the event before.
Thank you for the heads up on snapcam! That will be so helpful! Was also wondering what video chat app is the best for the window capture. cuz I have the problem of capturing windows but if someone drops out or pops in all the window captures get messed up when the screens rearrange inside the chat app. is there one that has separate windows for each participant or do you have other recommendations? Thanks again for all your awesome content it has been very helpful! -Dan
@@MichaelFeyrerJr I think you should make a vidoe on how to add guest to Prisms . Both the guest and the host scene and also individual scene. Whenever I try its the the source can't be added to two scenes
I tried to do this in prism with stream yard but stream yard always freezes. Are you still using Melon? would you say it’s easiest for guests to use? Ty!
Not really, I tried VDO ninja and it was a disaster. The output quality was horrible, my viewers could not hear my guest, and the audio was a mess between VDO Ninja and OBS. No easy way to control the audio sources between the both.
These are great for a quick and dirty way to snag some window captures from video chat services However, a much more elegant way would be to have each camera feed come in as their own direct source. There are some sites that provide a direct link to video feeds where you can create a browser source for each feed. This prevents the headaches of conference call video sources rearranging themselves when someone joins or leaves.
There's nothing easy about all that is way too many steps to go through and if you're using melon why use OBS just live stream everything through melon and add your guest in Maui doesn't make sense to me
Gotta love Michael. its nice too see someone stick on his own values
Thanks
@Michael Feyrer Jr.
Absolutely Amazing tutorial 👍 Appreciate it muchly 😁
Thanks! Glad to help.

You can do the exact same thing in prism.
Thank you! Great info!
Thanks Micheal! Thumbs up😃😃!!

The preview window can be low res on occasion. You see it sometimes on my live stream.
thanks for this! could help with my roleplay gaming and content creation!!!!
question, with how you had it setup using Melon, if i play audio from let say Spotify, will the "guests" hear my Spotify on there end?
Have you ever tried using NDI sources and something like VDO ninja for guests?
Yep. I have videos on both those methods.

@@coopcooper5267 WOW!!! What do you use to get THAT many people on using NDI?
More plz! Also curious if bringing a guest on can be achieved using OBS and Discord?
awesome video

Vdo ninja has a way to add each person as a separate browser source if I remember correctly. It’s an app I’ll cover at some point in the future.
@@MichaelFeyrerJr Awesome ty I'll check that out 👍

Bro successfully installed in laptop thank you.
followed the tutorial exactly right, but still different. Using trial version. Thank you*
does it work the same as Prism studios ?
Yep

I like to enable my virtual camera and use that as my camera for apps as my guests like to se whats being streamed or recorded.
From now on I’ll “enbiggen” everything 😂
I always do. :-)
how do you put your face in the little bottom right circle ? i want to recreate that with my guests
Is there a free way to add guests to OBS? Free vers of Melon is limited... looking for other options.
can this be done with zoom?
Yes. But when someone leaves you have no control over what happens.
How can I do this, but not "live", if I only want to do a "local" recording with a remote guest?
I’m assuming they are all in different locations
Yep
Opened stream labs downloaded melon now trying to see how it works
Think it would be fun to use when we have LAN parties or better yet a live draft
Add A Guest To Your PRISM Live Streams.....help.
Yo, did you say "enbiggen"?
Why not just use VDO Ninja? That's easier
Is it?
VDO Ninja has been amazing for my streams! I’m not “techy” by any stretch, and I found it very intuitive to use and incorporate.
Not really, I tried VDO ninja and it was a disaster. The output quality was horrible, my viewers could not hear my guest, and the audio was a mess between VDO Ninja and OBS. No easy way to control the audio sources between the both.
@@BorderlessCommerce They provide a camera feed which has its own audio source. We use it often...
how to make video with guest and to post later
I use discord to capture my guests

I’m not smart but There’s no possible way “enbiggen” is a word.
You make it so unsimple!
Now I can’t uninstall snap camera app… 🥴
