- Hello every one.
Todays video is about how you can calculate fragrance oils and essential oils for your soap products or candle products.
We will talk about essential oils Vs fragrance oils and the differences in both, its so important to understand each and see whats the right fit for your business.
Disclaimer: All information is from my own research but i highly suggest you search and get as much information as possible.
There are a few things to figure out to do this and the start.
1.What is the full volume of your ingredients amount.
2. What is the load percent? (this will depend on the oil or fragrance - check the suppliers lists)
3. Ingredients percent and you can work this out by doing this quick sum of 100 less the % load and theres your answer (Eg is if the fragrance load is 5 % then this would be 95%.
The calculation is as follows:
1. total ingredients (eg 2290) divided by the ingredients percentage (95%) = 2410
2. how to get the Fragrance amount is your total (Eg 2410 x load percentage eg 5%) = 120grams AND thats the aswer.

You are an angel to share so much! I've heard 10 ways from Sunday how to figure fragrance oil amounts, nobody's the same and my head is spinning. Thank you and The Brain (your hubby) for helping me finally. Big hugs from Texas!
Hi lovely. You are so welcome. Hope it helps. My husband is an engineer so very smart I think
Thanks so much Rhonda, so lovely of you to do this for me and others, brilliant as usual, you're the best, love your videos and your giving nature xx
I hope it explains enough and you feel better now to calculate
@@NelsonInteriorSoapery It will thanks again x

So interesting ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you
Hi Rhonda when I use the recommended usage for my soap, they are not strong enough, so can I add more in my soaps?
Only if it falls within the fragrance usage guide as each one is different. Example is lavender may be 5% and an other floral might be 0.5% so maybe choose an oil that has a higher usage
If I want to use a fragrance oil but it has a low recommended % can I mix it with another fragrance oil with a higher %
Yes you can
If you’re going to add 5% fragrance to soap, should you back your super fat back by that amount?
No i don’t. My superfat is always around 3
