Been researching this for a year. Tons of posts but no videos showing a solution. Tried it with silicone and with the screws back in and it didn’t work. Going to try urethane seam sealer this weekend. Only question, did you just use the urethane sealer to stick it on or once it was applied did you then put the screws back in and puncture the sealer with the screws at the end?
I put the rack back down while the sealer is still wet, and put the bolts right through it. That way, the sealer will form to the bolts and remain sealed. I pity the person who tries to remove it, lol.
@@SealofPerfection found it online. About to take everything apart this weekend and retry. Originally I used RTV that stuck to the trim so I had to order 2 new pieces as they got all bent and twisted removing. The RTV seemed to make no/minimal difference does that make sense to you? When I say I applied liberally I covered each hole/screw and then some all around and it seemed to make no difference. I understand seam sealer is better but it still seems odd all that RTV made no difference

@@mjcule you can use that, but there is literally urethane seam sealer, and plenty different kinds of it. Check amazon.
