Ive spent some time searching UA-cam trying to determine where my waterleak is coming from in my 2015 Escape. I can actually see the water drip out just below the fuse box, drop into the little cubby hole to the right of the tire hatch, soaking the insulation and filling up the tire well. Your video was the only one that discussed other causes other than the roof rack. Im gonna try the easiest method first, trim on both sides of the rear hatch and go from there. Much appreciated.
I saw your video and a lot of videos, first I put silicone in the rails of the roof, then the hinge of the trunk, silicone in the hinge of the air pistone and in the plastic cover all this reduce the water but finally I remove the bumper seal all plastics plug and vent in the bumper. I hope this solve the problem I will update after the hurricane here in Florida, best for all!
I really appreciate your feedback. This leak repair was solved over the course of atleast a month or more. I will say this has 100 percent stopped all the leaks I am definitely glad this is helping others out.
Thanks man your video is helping me with my suv I parked it for 6 months when I was working came back to mold in my vehicle lots of water in it on the floor and tire well I hope this fixes it
This fixed the leaks for good on this one. Hope this solves yours as well. I remember finding the spare sitting it 3 inches of water the first time. I couldn't believe it at first. Thanks for the feedback.
Just went out and there was no water in the trunk where the tire is the water that was in there is from the water that was all ready there but from all that rain we had no water got in at all i ordered water mats to dry up the water that is in the back i am so happy i just want to that you for posting the video it saved me around 1000 dollars
@@s33therfan I wished I could post a photo of where the leak was at you showed me those four plugs on each side and you RTV behind them That's where the little bit of water was coming in at now I had a little bit of water in there but that was already in there because I couldn't I didn't have the facilities to get the water all out but the main water was coming in through the main plug that big plug at the top that's what I did first The water was still coming in so I RTV the plugs behind that black thing I pulled those four plugs out on each side rtv those plugs put that black thing over top and put it back in there was no water after that
Liked the video as I to have the same car with the same problem so will for definite do the same to mine, thanks for the content s I think this will help.
Glad this can help others out. It was a several month long frustrating task of finding the culprit. To date there is absolutely no more water leaks. My best advice is to use the ultra black , take your time and make sure it is sealed well. Thanks for watching.
Thank you very much for this video , I have a 2014 Ford Escape SE , and after an absolute deluge of rain that would float Noah's Ark over a 2 day period, mine leaked just like yours did , I'll be doing the same type of repair when weather permits . for now I have the vehicle covered with a tarp . My thanks to you again !
I was sure happy to finally have a dry trunk. Originally before pulling the plug , the spare was half submerged in water. Glad this could help and thank you for the terrific feedback.
Great to hear , you can absolutely do it. Take your time with each task and do it throrough the first time and it will not leak. This one is still leak free to date. Thanks for the feedback.
I just used my trim tool and dug them out. The big plugs were the main concern , even though I sealed around them all. I don't believe the smaller ones were the issue. Hope this helps . I know it stopped all the leaks on mine.
To be honest it is just a bad design , really just prone to leak . Hopefully we can share this information with others and people can fix it like it needs to be. Thanks for watching.
we just had 4 days of real heavy rain i am going to check it this Saturday and i will post it i just hope and pray that there is no water in the wheel well
Hope you got it fixed , it sure is a good feeling to finally have a dry trunk. I noticed I never could replicate the rain with a water hose. It needed rain to leak.
I took my 2013 Ford Titanium Escape to the Ford Dealership. They had my car for almost a full month and said they couldn’t find any leaks! They told me they had their leak ‘expert’ go over my car. Nothing was found. After all that they had the nerve to give me a bill for $500.00! I told them I wasn’t paying it. I spoke with the top executive of the dealership and he cleared the bill off. Really, this is ridiculous that the dealership could not find a leak! My tire well had water in it from the rain that we had WHILE my car was there! Since they change to Auto Nation the service is horrible! Good luck to all who have this problem!
That’s frustrating, I’m glad you got the bill cleared, This one is still completely leak free to date. There are 3 areas the rack bars , the plugs under the hatch and the vents. In my opinion it is the latter 2 that are the most common. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this feedback.
Good news I went out to the vehicle this morning to check and see if there was any water in a vehicle because of all that rain that we had I found that there was no water in the vehicle at all it was bone dry I finally fixed a leak
The ultra black is the stickiest most messy but works the best. Any rtv will work though. I know I was sure happy to finally have a dry tire well. Thank you for the question.

Mine too, but I can't do what's in the video myself
Thank you. The only video showing what all the forums referenced

This has solved my issue , so far no new leaks. I will say the ultra black is the best. Thank you for the feedback.

My 2018 ford escape has this same problem thankyou!!
You are very welcome. It took several months of trial and error but to this date that trunk is dry. Thanks for watching.
So I am not able to do this on my own, should I take it to the dealership or a body shop? Also, what should be a decent range to pay?
actually, after watching a second time, I am going to try it myself.

@@s33therfan Do you have a video on how to remove the rear bumber?
how did you get the little clips out on the right had side after you took off the black thing and showed us where you think the water was getting in
I'm trying to jog my memory but seems you have to push on the clips pretty hard to get them to release.
it is 5 min and 54 sec into the video

I'm 99% positive I got my water leak fixed today
Just did the two big round grommets. they were loose. time will tell if that was it.
Excellent , keep us updated on yours. Thank you for the feedback.

Same exact problem with my Escape 2023 with only 7,000 miles.
I really appreciate you sharing this information for me and others. It shows that it is an ongoing issue for all years. Thank you .
Truly unbelievable that Ford has been having this kind of problem for at least a decade without being able to address it.
I took my 2013 Ford Titanium Escape to the Ford Dealership.

yes and thank you so much for the video
Hello what is RTV iam in the UK have the same issue with my ford.😂

If you haven't done this repair yet you can get tiger seal from halfords, not cheap but has helped me as I've gone through finding my leaks.
👀👍✔
Thank you very much as always for watching
