Albania is a place on the Balkans which took a place in my heart! It is so unique, the people are one of the friendliest I’ve met and food is delicious. Normally I would be there at the moment but everybody knows about the rest of the story... I miss it to travel! Thanks for your insight in your journeys, even if they are from the best. So continue your serious that we can travel in mind with you. Nice regards from Switzerland and stay healthy, David-
I LOVED Albania. Spent about 3 weeks there back in 2017. We actually hitchhiked the whole way across the country and into Greece. The people were so friendly and we were picked up by the nicest people. The beaches down south are stunning too, just as nice as Croatia and Greece but everything is way cheaper and it just has such a different feel! There were a lot of people there with old Mercedes cars which was cool! Glad you got to experience it with your Mom!
Actually more than 6 million people visited Albania in 2019. That's twice the population of the country. Anyway glad you liked our country and say thanks to your mom for volunteering for Albania. Greetings from Tirana Albania 👋👋👋
Albania only have One problems and is Denmark is behind alot of hate against Albania Albanians sins 70er ... danish sniky polite... Holland and France no to Albania E.U was financed by denmark
Tirana is good for few days full of pubs, bars, coffee shops and restaurants. Recently they finished the football ground and can park there also have a massive car park by the Skenderbe square. So you can be in Bloku and near the old castle which they have put some real money in it. it’s really relaxing. Also the main park in Tirana it’s amazing huge and lovely. also south of Albanian is fantastic where beaches are amazing. So is good to visit it once but it’s not a place I must go every year though.
Just did a similar trip to yours only beginning of last month . We flew into Ohrid and went to Skopje, Prishtina and Tirana. Was a really interesting trip. Albania was my favourite country to and we've planned to go to back. We hired a private taxi driver and he told us that Albania is becoming a more popular tourist destination now and hit 6 million last year. Also mentioned those huts which we seen a few off during the drives through the mountains, amazing views. Such an amazingly beautiful country. So cheap there and the food is so fresh. Can't wait to Revisit
ohh interesting to know! I have heard that it's getting more popular as a tourist destination and can completely understand why! Me too, looking forward to going back
Loved your videos of Albania. I had planned to spend 3 weeks in May/June, but had to postpone till October/November. Plan to travel the whole country and take in the beaches, mountains, villages, and urban cities.
Jord, words cannot describe how I feel watching these vlogs as it's so bittersweet. My Lord, I can't wait to be able to travel and explore again. Thank you so much for sharing these great vlogs. Happy Easter to you!
Loved this video mate. I had an excellent time in Albania when I solo travelled the balkans in 2017. I find Albanian people so warm and welcoming, I went into a souvenir shop to buy a flag and the shop owner filled the bag with loads of other stuff (t-shirt, mug, magnets) and didn't charge me a penny!
Really enjoying these trips from the past. In the right context, they are just as interesting as if they happened yesterday. The context for me is that I get to see your stuff that's new to me, while all of us are hunkered down, trying to duck sickness. Hope you're staying off the sauce; it makes you a lot more productive, and me (as an audience) happy too. I had my bout with beer many years ago, and look back on my cutting that consumption as a good milestone in my thinking. As an aside, you are at your best when you are partnering up with another. It adds interest and perspective. I hope you're able to pick that up, again. Carry on. Your stuff is valuable.
I am really happy that you spent a good time in my country. We, albanians always try to make the guests feel at home. Thank you for your impressions and your vidoes Jord. I find them realy amazing and they give me the impression of travelling with you all around the world.
Nice place Albania!!, It feels like im traveling to different places and countrys by watching your vlogs, more travel with your mom .. Keep safe Jord😍😙
I visited Durres and Tirana during my two night drive through Albania. I stayed two nights in Durres which was an old Roman and Greek port and stronghold and also an Albanian beach town. You really missed out. Albania also has some really great coats on the border with Greece and Corfu. Nice video , thanks for sharing!
Give my heartfelt THANKS to your noble mom! 1997 was a terrible year for us Albanians. That's when I left my country and moved to Canada. It was a desperate time. We came out of the dictatorship and were hoping for a better future, then 1997 happened and it seemed like all was going to hell and there was no more hope for the country. Thanks to those who stayed and worked hard it is becoming a real part of Europe now. Every time I go back I wish I could return forever.
Thanks. I enjoyed the video and the series so far. Look forward to your next video and the series that you are planning for the future. Hope you stay healthy.
Jordan, this is a really nice journey to Albania and down the road watching this video you will have memories with your mum in a place that meant a lot to her.
Was there in 2015 - the starting point of a fascinating three-week road trip that also took in Podgorica and Kotor (Montenegro) Dubrovnik (Croatia), boat trip to Bari and Naples (Italy). Despite all the unfounded warnings for my safety, I found Tirana, especially Downtown, to be really cool against a background of a city struggling to be better - there were quite a few really run-down areas and the Pyramid of Tirana is an example of that. How come I did not get to visit this derelict site. I regret not staying in the country longer to visit the coast and the lakes near Shkoder. Look forward to your future travels .... whenever? I recommend the Radio bar for a drinks venue filled to the rafters with .... radios!

As a Soviet citizen at the time, albeit a child, I wouldn't have been able to go to Albania either. Even if I had managed to get permission from the KGB to go, Albania wouldn't have issued me a visa. They viewed both the USA and the ussr as their archnemesis.

Great stuff again mate. Glad to see Tirana has something on offer, as was hard to grab a feel with our one night there and just went to a bar and had a few beers & a bit to eat before heading back to our hotel to catch our flight.
