Great short, informative video. Climbs, turns, pop, chunk: you covered the main rides that anyone would want to know about a trail-enduro bike. Thank you!
Climbing is 80% suspension setup and lockout ability, and only 20% cockpit setup. All these new modern frames are so close with their specifications so it has a lot to do with the mix & match components, and what you can afford.
Great video! I sprained my wrist last week so my riding season is over but i’m spending my downtime picking my new 2021 bike :) I’m in between the Meta TR and the Ibis Ripmo AF and i think i’m leaning towards the Meta... It’s such a good looking bike. Love the videos!
Both very good bikes. TR is more capable on the downs and AF climbs a bit better and is also a bit more playful. TR in polished looks amazing! Sorry to hear about your wrist. I destroyed mine some years back and is why I wear a brace. MOBIUS X8 wrist brace is something I will be trying in the near future and may also help you get back on the bike. Hope you heal up quickly 🙏
Thank you so much, you really made my mind clear now! I think I would prefer the TR even if I would have liked more like 150-155mm of travel but 2021 AM is just too long, too extreme, for my twisty trails! So now I have to decide between Norco Sight or Meta TR! haha I suppose you had your Mezzer at 160mm? 64.5 is at 150mm so 64 at 160...I think I would put an angleset to have 64.5 or maybe even more like 65 of HA so it would help turn a bit better as I am used to 27.5 bikes and never wanted to go 29 because of that. What do you think? Super slack is only good for steep descent and I do a mix of everything... tech trails with rocks, roots and tight turns but not a lot of super steep.
I set the Mezzer on the TR to 150mm but seems to sit at around 145mm or so. Not sure where HTA sets as it is listed at 64.5 on both the 160mm and 150mm. I'd say 150mm on the Mezzer is good as that fork eats everything up. I did bottom the fork so may up the IRT pressure or change travel to 160mm. Meta TR is a great machine but it still is a big bike and smashes the tech really well. I'm hoping I'll continue to love it for XC type riding... so that will be part of our long term review to see how this does there. The AM makes a lot of hard tech climbs easy but I started to bonk out at the 12 mile mark on my XC ride.

I have ridden the bike myself, this and the meta am and believe me, this bike is not for jumping or having fun. It's made for smashing and winning some enduro stages.
To me, this video, I wouldn't call it fake but it's not accurate
This is a first ride review and had been riding the AM version previously. So after riding the AM this bike did feel more poppy and playful. This bike jumps really well for its weight/size and more so than the AM version. If you watch our comparison video between the two or the full review of the TR i address all of this. These bikes were purchased full retail and we bring our honest thoughts and feedback. Thanks for your feedback.
