One of the most beautiful cars in the world, and one with an incredible story. I was lucky enough to be at Goodwood when all 6 of the originals came together a few years back and I got goosebumps just standing next to them. Such an iconic car......thanks for bringing us the video.

I've always thought you were more of a Chevy and MOPAR guy, Shawn. But the respect you show Shelby and Ford with their 1960s cars is very admirable. That decade made me a Ford fan for life. Love this car. Would take one over a GT40...well if that day ever came it would be a hard decision to make.
I love the fact that all those cars they call "Ferrari Killers" were not only from the U.S.A, but without exception, every single car, especially the Daytona, have a meaner, more masculine look, but are still as lovely as anything out there. Of course Ferrari made absolute beauties, but Shelby and those guys were right on with grace and function. Amazing! Great video!
What else can you say, Superformance is a leader in the industry !! Very special cars, that no one has been able to get, now here it is !! Built to absolute perfection, Full on period correct. Thank you so much. I Will have one, just not yet. Keep up the great work Shawn !!! Love it.
Thanks Shawn. I really dig all the content you bring and this Daytona is exceptional. The lines are really amazing and the coolest part about having one of these is that you are not going to see its twin at the local coffee and cars meet. We got Cobra, GT40 and now this beauty which is probably the most practical to take on a long road trip.
How lucky we are that Roush Performance is still around. Back in the early 2000s I was working with Roush & Ford and was able to work on and ride in the Ford GT Proto Vehicles. Wow, a truly dedicated bunch of people. Great review on a great vehicle, a Historic Vehicle!
That is insanely cool! Doug is very knowledgeable and the car design and performance was light years ahead of the pack...Supercars is awesome! Thanks autotopia team!
Great job Shawn, lots of details about the homologation history of the car, that 90 days timeframe is crazy... Great time allocation to every segment and overall video... Keep doing it!
Now we're talking! Gimme gimme gimme! Mine! Mine! Mine! As the seagulls in Finding Nemo so succinctly phrased it! Oh man, wow! Mr. Brock involved too, imagine how many incredible ideas started out at the restaurant or bar off of a freakin napkin!!! Lol! Figures I'm catching up on your videos and saw the GT 40 one before this,i stand corrected. Binge watching, catching up on the vids, harvesting and trimming some Alaskan Ice,loving it! Man Shaun, you are a lucky boy!!!! Kudos! Living the dream life of Riley!!! Thanks again guys! ▪☆☆☆▪
I’m currently building a Factory Five coupe. One of the most beautiful designs. Definitely one that had to grow on me from the first time I seen pictures years ago but it reels you in.
Brother.... that is so bad ass. I’m not sure if you remember my comment from the last one but it was about the Daytona coupe it is by far my favorite one. And you delivered. Just another day at the office dog... Right on
What a beautiful car, as an Englishman these cars have never been on my radar so I’m looking at it with no history in my head. I really appreciate what Superformance have done though and I’m glad you got to drive one of your dream cars So hot over there that you can’t even open the windows, man my heart bleeds for you 😂
Are you mad? Ken Miles was an Englishman and won the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1966, and placed second at Le Mans. Miles died in a crash while testing Ford's J-Car.
Oh wow your friend was dead on when he said that it was a beautiful car..... Actually it's stunningly beautiful. I was amazed at the quiet cabin and man that engine just purrs along. Great vid once again and that blue colour is perfect for that car. Cheers guys.☘️
A once in a life time experience there Shaun😊 Such amassing history with those cars and the performance they got out of those 289 V8 was incredible. Great video man, thanks for sharing 😎👍
Wellllllllllllll, sooooooooooooooo, whatever is next................is gonna be a let down! Gr8 vid, thx to all involved. And a special thx to the owner!
Like all Superformance cars, this is a gorgeous replica of one of the most iconic racers of all time, but the originals were ~2100lbs, this is nearly 3000lbs! Nice that Lance said good things about the FFR cars, which are more affordable and closer in weight to the originals.
Shawn, this car has the real rumble unlike today's Vette's, Mustang's etc. It would be interesting to see custom twin pipes per side like that on a regular Cobra. Later!
past few videos you didnt get to drive, but since this company is trying to sell their product they will of course let you drive..LOL thanks shawn for your contributions to us motorheads for free entertainment. superformance is a very good company. highly recommended from a true shelby fan
Yeah, I always let the owner offer. If they don’t, I happily sit in the passenger seat and understand not letting anyone drive. But hell yes on getting to drive this one!!
The stigma of "kit" cars is from the 70's when they looked like 10 pieces of crap taped to a vw beetle. Now? FFR and Superformance are legit car companies building cars that can rival the best in the world.....
@@AutotopiaLA Building an FFR Cobra or Daytona is on my bucket list......When I first started inquiring about their cars they were/are so totally supportive. Invited me down for a visit, more than happy to help anywhere along the build, and since I live in Canada, put me in touch with an importer who can help me get it into Canada since we have a law prohibiting "kit" type cars. I follow Vanguard Motor Sales out of Michigan and they buy and sell both Superformance and FFR cars and they do in depth reviews on them and they are fantastic vehicles.
In my opinion the Ford Daytona is thee coolest car ever made. The only car that comes close would be the GT-40. I envy you brother. The only job that tops yours is being a rockstar lol & only because then I could actually own a few of these beauties. Who am I kidding I'd own way more than a few! Rock on & keep em comin.
Replica Shelbys remind me that it's okay to have a GTO clone. Badass and fun go hand in hand and only the owner can make their car their own and have that fun with their toy. Only cars left that I'd still love to see in person is maybe a few supercars, and the Le Mans legends, Superformance or '64 Daytona.
Nice ride, Sir. I appreciate your camera guys getting some beautiful shots of the car. One of my dream cars for sure. If I had $200,000 to spend on one car,... that would be it.
I love me a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Shawn but...... I am still anxiously awaiting you to cover some totally badass, vintage drag car with race history (ie: '33 or '41 Willy's, Anglia, Austin Bantam, Ford Cobra Jet Mustang, a '62-'63 426 max wedge powered Dodge Dart, a '68 Hurst Dart, A990 Dodge Coronet, Pontiac Super Duty swiss cheese car, etc. PLEASE!!
