That's the exhaust! The sidepipes run underneath the door, and the exhaust outlet ends just before the rear wheels. In one of the early shots in this video you can see the exhaust backfire!
@@richardgreen7811 It's not a muffler, just straight exhaust pipes connected to the headers. I don't know why exactly they decided on that design, but it's basically the same as the shelby cobra roadster
@@bridgetring2839 Cobra is based on the ACe which I'm quite familiar with, there's realy not enough room under the chassis for an exhaust that size. The Ace exhaust passes through some of the out rigger brackets, but you wouldn't fit a 7L V8 sized exhaust through there, with the ground clearance they want to run. Plus you need to manage all the heat next to the clutch/brake master cylinders and the fuel tank to the rear. The road Cobras did have exhausts under the chassis.
No offense and I'm no race car driver, but I've been around a few road courses. Is it my imagination or was the Daytona driver's line off for most of those hot laps? Much slower cars were passing him on the inside/outside because his line was just way off. lol
Wow that Elan, much faster corner entry, off the curbs mid-corner, and quciker on the gas to exit. Stunning drive.
Amazing how hard that priceless car is being driven.
It's a kit I think
What a MONSTER! So mush Car, not enough track! Love that sound!🏎
Une voiture de Légende qui a marquée son époque !, un son moteur à faire pleurer !!!!. 👍👍👍👍
I don't think so
Merci pour cette super ballade !!
Beautiful e type too
That number 13 car was in a real hurry.
The steering on that Daytona is dangerously light.
This car is amazing
that car is a dream!
Still a beautiful race car
Quite an advert for Lotus Elans...
🤣🤣. Reminds me of the oldies song about the little mash rambler
Geiles Auto...gute Reaktion...aber bei der Linie geht noch einiges......👍🔥
3 rookie lock-ups. Nice.
Is it real or is it Memorex? Who cares! Terrific machine and vid, thanks!
I drive my bass fishing boat like that
Very Good ... but what the hell is that long silver thing below the door sill ?

@@bridgetring2839I knew that, but why a muffler ?

Looks sniitger from the outside than from the inside!
Is this one of the original six?
I don't think so...
@@PascalBuyens Of course it isn't.

Probably tons of adrenaline going on, plus the suspension setup might not be what they're used to.
Is this one of the replicas with an aluminum-bodied chassis out of Poland?
This car was built for men not for kids....
Auto-lock brakes.
As if any of you fools can do a better job than he did.
Great
