I’m just stumbling across this as a local guy who loves Valley Fair… great video! It’s crazy to me though that people actually don’t like Wild Thing. As a kid it was “THE Roller Coaster”, and it was my dream to be tall enough to ride it. I’ll never forget my first ride! It’ll always have a place in my heart! And that drop always gets me every time. But, yes, Renegade is the best. I remember when it opened, the wait was like two hours… and worth it!
Renegade is definitely a top 10 wooden coaster. I hadn't looked much into the park before going, so I went into it blind and was surprised I hadn't heard about how good it was before!
When it was brand new, I remember! After the High Roller and Wild Rails, it was the third coaster to be built there. I haven’t been there in such a long time that most of the coasters are new to me.
I've been hoping to get to this park soon! I actually didn't know the holding break was such a popular element, but it looks fun. Good job on this video!
I actually got some good airtime on wild thing during a hot, 90 degree day a couple weeks ago, but a lot tamer on a cooler 70 degree day. Excalibur is at the bottom of my ranking. My ride on it was extremely painful and I never wanna ride it again. I could ride steel venom and renegade all day. I'd be going back just for those 2 rides alone. This was my first 2 visits to valleyfair despite living in minnesota for 8 years now. I'm originally from Illinois and had great america as my home park up until we moved away when I was 14. I still make the trip back at least once a year so that I can get to great america. One thing that I liked better was the wait times at valley fair. Great america is always packed when I go, so walking right onto every coaster was a nice change.
The holding brake on Possessed at Dorney was so amazing, one of my fav elements in the park. Possessed without the holding brake becomes my least fav coaster at Dorney. I think it's crazy how much of an impact those 1-2 seconds have. Props to the Possessed-themed concession stand called Possessions though.
🔥 vid as always. 1000% with you on the holding break thing. Loved it on V2 growing up. Def hope to get on one with the holding break still operating someday.
Renegade is the clear favorite in this park, that thing is electric. I love Valley Fair, it is a very cute park! You and I have about the same kind of coaster credits. Six Flags Great America is also my home park :) I really like your videos, keep it up!
My favorite roller coaster there is Renegade, followed by Wild Thing, High Roller, Steel Venom, Mad Mouse, Corkscrew, Excalibur, and Mild Thing (R.I.P.).
Just found your channel from a Coaster College video and am so fucking jazzed your most recent videos are from MN! I almost never see videos about our parks, which... makes sense 😅 either way, your content is great, as is your taste! 10/10 instant subscribe
High Roller is not the oldest ride in the park. It is the oldest rollercoaster in the park though. The carousel is the oldest ride in the park by decades. :-)
Valleyfair is my home park, and this is really close to my ranking actually, lol. I would just swap Renegade and Steel Venom personally; as a die-hard fan of launches it already has the edge, and the holding brake just really seals the deal for me. And thank you for clapping back against all the Wild Thing slander! Is it on the level of the B&M hypers or Magnum? No, of course not, but dammit it's still a lot of fun! That second hill is some pretty crazy floater, honestly, and enthusiasts don't give it NEARLY enough credit
As someone with valleyfair as their homepark and the privilege to go here every week, mostly agree with this, i personally would have put high roller above mad mouse but other than that good choices. Also im very suprised people dont like wild thing, insane forces when the track is wet, which it is relatively often as minnesota is a pretty rainy state.
@@ZeroCreditsRemaining hey we were painting the rollercoaster and we saw this weird brake looking thing at the top of the tower. What was that? Six flags: what, Oh that thing? I forgot that even existed. So you gonna fix it? Six flags: no
Here's the biggest problem with what I'm gonna affectionately call "outsiders" rating Valleyfair coasters. Yall don't care about coming to Minnesota for anything, so nobody comes when they're new. By the time yall get out here, the coasters are a decade or more old and have all lost a step, or in High Roller and Excaliburs case 5 steps. Wild Thing was epic when it first opened, and maintained that level for many years before they started torpedoing those brakes. High Roller with the old trains, buzz bars, and no trim brakes was indeed an air time machine. Corkscrew had forces (and head banging) at one point, especially through that final helix. Excalibur has always felt like they made it out of recycled aluminum cans, so don't know how people like this jankfest of a ride. As it stands, Renegade and Steel Venom are the unquestionable best coasters in that park. Given Renegade was last built 15 years ago, it's beyond time for something new there. But thats not a shot at Renegade by any means. It's criminal how underrated and unappreciated that ride is. It's the best GCI running, and a top 10 experience at night.
I’m 32 and renegade was built when I was 17, why would anybody rate coasters based on what they used to be? 🤔 But my vacation in Minnesota was great and I’ll come back if your park adds something or your maintenance can get rides running better.
2 things to add is: -Excalibur is staying around for at least another 5+ years cuz it just got a brand new control panel (and it wasn’t cheap) -Don’t forget about Renegade Mike (aka the guy that was ridden Renegade 18,001 times)!
It was a little unfortunate time that you had went. Wild Thing was actually amazing during the summer. So your day could have been way better. Hopefully you can go back during the summer!
Of all the roller coasters at valley fair the renegade is the one that I don't like and not because of the speed or the height considering I have a fear of heights but because of the whiplash that will come with it afterwards for a few days I absolutely refuse to ever go on it EVER AGAIN after the first time I ever rode it in 2012
Zero credits: “I’ve never rode a bad hyper” vs entitled coaster enthusiast “points to magic mountain and great America” tbh Goliath at magic mountain has good airtime it’s just that people hate on it because “ItS nOt A B&m”
I’ve heard good things about Goliath sfmm from people that I trust. But I can preemptively see why people would be underwhelmed with it. The tunnel and speed hill look 🤤
@@ZeroCreditsRemaining from personal experience yes it’s fun the speed hill give goon floater and the first drop has good airtime most of it is just gentle floater airtime but is sure is fun
Excalibur is my least favorite roller coaster there it’s too short, not as thrilling as the others. No wonder there is no fast lane pass for this ride, not many people ride it.
To me Voyage just looks like a modern wooden coaster. (Mystic Timbers combined with Ravine Flyer or something like that) but, if it *is* that good, I’m keeping my expectations LOW.

I am so happy that you used the Valleyfair song between coasters, it really is a masterpiece of lyricism

I just go for renegade mike whose been on that ride 20,000 times
Im jealous Steel Venom has the holding break 😭 My homepark is Great America too and I want that break more than ever
I live in Valleyfairs home AND IM SUPER HAPPY WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST IMPULSE COASTER’S
I live not even 20 mins away from Valleyfair, recently was there for a band trip as well! Wild thing and high roller are probably my top 2 favorites
1. Renegade
2. Steel Venom
3. Wild Thing
4. Excalibur
5. Corkscrew
6. High Roller
7. Mad mouse
I always enjoy your passion for coasters infused with your quirky sense of humor, keep up the great work!
Real ones remember when Corkscrew was a Blue track.
When it was brand new, I remember! After the High Roller and Wild Rails, it was the third coaster to be built there. I haven’t been there in such a long time that most of the coasters are new to me.
The song you used it top tier. I didn’t expect it at all
Love my home state Valleyfair. Just wish they'd give us our new coaster

Steel venom is the most horrifying fun coaster I’ve ever ridden, it’s a great dump of adrenaline, coming from a guy who hates heights
Finally UA-cam does it’s job and gives me the video alert

Great review! I really want to get to this park someday, hopefully before any of these coasters get removed.
Excalibur looks nuts. And I love the launch sound too
This really helped thank you :D

For someone who likes going to valley fair cosmic coaster is never open you got lucky
If you love Renegade and Mystic Timbers then you HAVE to visit Words of Fun and ride Prowler. You would LOVE Prowler!
One time I went to Great America with friends from Minnesota, and they said it was like Valleyfair. It fcking is NOT!
As someone with valleyfair as their homepark and the privilege to go here every week, mostly agree with this, i personally would have put high roller above mad mouse but other than that good choices. If they retheme it without restoring the brake... 🥴

I just took my first trip to Valleyfair, and there was no holding break on Steel Venom. 😢
I think if they got a b&m invert that would complete their lineup as they have just one looping coaster and it’s a pretty bad one with cork screw
Wonderful video! Also Loved the Charli XCX reference! 😜
Let’s go Angels 👼
This is the only unique coaster rating I have seen of vally fair
I would move mad mouse down to #7 but otherwise perfect
It was a little unfortunate time that you had went. Wild Thing was actually amazing during the summer. So your day could have been way better. Hopefully you can go back during the summer!
I skip v2 so much didn't even realize break down. Think they will fix for its rebranding as flash coaster this year?
What song are you using in between each ride? 🎶 take me for a ride vallyfair 🔥🔥🔥
"Valleyfair" by WavChampagne. 😂
Bally fair is my home park and this list is identical to mine
Thanks, 0CR, very cool
Is it in shakopee?
Yes
Local here...Renegade is at its best in late October at night. The colder the temps the better.
Good to hear. I was blown away but other people call it a mid GCI and I’m like…. Lolno
My teacher dropped his phone on Steel Venom. 😂😂😂😂😂

The cork screw use to be blue
I am going to ride the number one ride posted at 00:00
Wild things still there tho
I think you would really enjoy Steel Force
Renegade is the best ride ever, love it SO much.
Venom is too scary for me 😂
Don't like Excalibur or Wild Thing at all.
This is my home park
Minnesota here and yeah Valleyfair sucks. I went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and was blown away that there was more than one good coaster there.
You sound a little like David Spade🤣🤣🤣...wait....😳...Are you David Spade?😁
I can pick up on the resemblance honestly. He’s very dry and sassy 🤦♂️

I grew up with MOA and Valleyfair so I love the Wildthing. I hope to one day hate the wild thing cause I have been on so many better coasters lol
Yaaaaaay not steel venom or wild thing #i❤️woodies
15:39 hi!!!
Sucks that I am scared of roller coasters 😬
I feel ya because I used to be. :(
wild thing is easily top 3 or 2 and excalibur is probably the worst.
And some fun not coaster rides
Prowler at worlds of fun is way better
Excalibur is my least favorite roller coaster there it’s too short, not as thrilling as the others. No wonder there is no fast lane pass for this ride, not many people ride it.
First
I honestly hoped you would 😂
Yo what's up former roomie
