Sir I spent a whole day trying to figure out the complete pathophysiology of both extrinsic and intrinsic asthma. Among all the lectures here on UA-cam, yours is the most complete and easiest to understand because you really repeat important points to be remembered. Thank you for saving my life sir. I have a case presentation on asthma tomorrow I feel so ready because of your lecture. I actually wish you taught in our school haha. Thank you thank you!!
One of the best in detailed explanation on asthma I have seen. The complexity of asthma is so easy to understand through your drawing. I thank you very much for sharing this.
If I haven't said it before, this is an excellent overview of the pathophysiology of asthma, and fits well with our course, well done, thanks again (this is not the first time I've watched this video haha).
THANK YOU FOR TEACHING! @.@ I'll keep watching a few more times so that this'll be stored in my permanent memory storage. Thank you again Dr. and the crew
Dr. Been, I'm 60yr old and for the last twenty years I've suffered from asthma, common Atopic and Non-Atopic elements trigger my asthma. What I want to know is why can this condition manifest in my late adulthood and why Polin, smoke, perfume, mothballs, etc never troubled me in my youth!
@@DrBeenMedicalLectures , in your research of asthma have you noted any geographical points where there are much fewer irritants triggering astham? In conversations with other patients we often share the same phenomenon, when we're near ocean we breath with ease. I wonder why.
Great to hear. We are moving in the direction where written medium will become less and less used. Just like writing with hand is reducing and giving way to typing. Study hard and be an amazing physician.
An excellent overview of Asthma, its biochemical pathways and sensitization processes. Would be interesting to know, can we block IL5 as a treatment to prevent esenophilic action of giant and ionic proteins to limit remodeling
I have had asthma 60 years. Severe when young and all but dissapeared until I reached 67 or so. I have never taken any medication other than an over the counter inhaler. It seems like I have both types. My grandmother and mother ended up addicted to the nebulizer. I believe it shortened their lives. They used it far more than was prescribed. My question is am I doing more damage to my lungs coughing up mucus than if I took medication which stops this. I can live with the occasional congestion. I can run. Other than this I am in excellent health...occasional arthritis/gout....no meds at all. Don't like meds but I don't want to damage my lungs. 69. Maybe I should see a doctor?
