I found this video last night, and immediately ran out to get all the ingredients. The only thing that I changed up was that I used purple carrots and red cabbage so I could get more of the red color to the soup. And I couldn't find chili peppers so I used part of a jalapeno. Lol. I'm eating it at the moment, and it is so delicious.
I love how you've adapted it! Sounds delicious! Happy Blending and thanks for watching :)
I love your personality. You should do more recipes. I am so glad they are vegan friendly. Great job!
Thank you for your kind words :) Glad you like our videos!
Wow, I'm impressed. I laughed when you were just chucking all sorts of stuff in the blender, "keep the stems and leaves etc"; it reminded me of Doc at the end of back to the future when he's chucking stuff into the "Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor"...
"Time travelling is too dangerous..." BUT! Making soups in your Vitamix isn't ;) Cheers! Thanks for watching.
I finally got a Vitamix a3500 and babbbyyyyyy I don’t know how I have been without it!
It's amazing! Happy blending!
I used my vitamix for the first time today. Made kale, banana smoothie with almond milk and flax seeds. Good stuff. It's a very powerful machine. I'm about to make tomato soup now :)
Listen , this recipe blew my mind . It was soooo delicious.
I've just made this soup, and it's absolutely gorgeous! Unbelievably quick and simple! I didn't have a spring onion so I substituted with a white onion, I didn't have any fresh hot peppers so I substituted with chilli fakes, and no cabbage so I used lettuce, but the recipe still turned out amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!
+Angela Bedford So glad you loved it and got creative with some substitutions! Thanks for watching and happy blending!
"spring onion"? You must mean what in America is a scallion. ??
@@opybrook7766 yes.
@@opybrook7766 In Canada we say green onions...
This is absolutely amazing. You did a GREAT job. Thanks...
I purchased a Vitamix because of your videos. Thanks and keep them coming, please!
That's awesome news mate! We''ll definitely keep the videos coming! Thanks for watching!
Wow! I just got my Vitamix today and just watched your video. Ran to store for ingredients and as I type this, I am enjoying the best soup I have ever had. My five year old daughter loves it too. Yay! Thank you. TRULY RAWMAZING PRESENTATION AND RECIPE!

My Vitamix arrived today! I'm finishing a juice cleanse, but I'm tempted to have this soup for dinner... yep, I think I will!
AMAZING!! Dinner in 5 mins, love it

Hi K.Allison,
We are using the Vitamix 5200 model.
Thanks for watching and happy blending!
Thanks again for this recipe - it is my go to summer soup. Hope your building is getting fixed OK...
Thanks for your advice! i should receive my Vitamix tomorrow and i will undoubtly enjoy delicious soup and perfect Victoria Boutenko smoothies :)
Good Health
Hi Derek Doucette, Please note that the Vitamix Heats the soup through friction heat due to the speed of the blades and not a cooking element. You can have complete control over what temperature you "cook" your soup at. To qualify as a raw food you want to make sure you don’t heat it above 110-118 degrees F (43-47 degrees C), because above that temperature you start destroying the nutrients and enzymes of the food. You can use a thermometer to double check. I hope this helps!
mind blown.
It really is a delicious recipe :) Happy Blending!
Great, going to try it.
Hope you enjoy! Let us know what you think! Happy blending!

William Acevedo my pleasure! Glad you like it! Thanks for watching and happy blending!
Can't wait to make this!
You will love it! Happy blending!
Hi Tommy,i realised that after watching your video again........ it is a very tasty soup.
I passed this recipe on to my friend who is on the 2-5 fast diet ....... she plays around with the cashew content slightly as she is only allowed 500 calories on these days and she likes to fit in a green thick in the morning ...perfect!
love my vitamix!
We love ours too! Happy blending!
That machine provides alot of cooking convenience. I was just thinking about making a mushroom soup here.
My 6300 will arrive next week. This is the first recipe I'm going to try. :)
Love it.
Made this soup, very tastefull and delicious. Would certainly recommend it.
Glad you enjoy it! Happy blending and thanks for watching!

Hi Jason Nicolais
Great to hear!
We have hundreds of recipes on our website www.rawblend.com.au :)
Thanks for watching and happy blending!
This is my fav soup.
A lot of people love this one :) We're glad you're loving it too!
Hi i just got my vitamix from Costco here in Sydney and thanks 🙏 to your channel i am now have an idea how to make soup 🍜 its awesome 👏
That's awesome Alexia! Thanks for your support and Happy Blending!
Hi, thanks for the video. I love my Vitamix. You can use Kitchen Basics (or any of the other prepared stocks) unsalted vegetable stock in place of the water and stock cube. No added sodium. Flavorful without added sodium (may have to salt to taste after that).
Hi Steph,
To make a hot soup, we leave the Vitamix running for roughly 4-6 minutes. When making a smoothie, the Vitamix only runs for about 60-90 seconds and we like to put ice in our smoothies so its icy cold! I hope this helps!
Made this soup and it was delicious!
Awesome to hear! Thanks for letting us know! Happy Blending!
I will try it too...Thank you...
Thanks for watching :) one of my favourite soups still to this day!
My Vitamix just came today
Hey Tommy, I got my vitamix and I love it. We tried the brocoli soup, I loved it, (my son didn't, but he likes eating brocoli straight up). Can I make a request that you make a lentil soup using the vitamix? I was thinking just straight up lentils with some form of milk? Thank you for all your videos. Ilove them!
Wife just got a new Vitamix for her BD. Will have fun playing with it to make fresh soup too.
What a perfect birthday gift! You are both going to love it! Happy blending and thanks for watching!
I am diligently looking for a Vitamix in Nova Scotia right now!
I made this yesterday. ..n we enjoyed it...it was yummy....thanks...
Hi TheBluebell007
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! It's one of our favourites.
Hi Andrew,
At the end of the day, all heat will destroy enzymes. When you make soup with a Vitamix, rather than boiling the food, we are just heating it up with friction heat. Many Raw Foodies will leave it running for around 4 minutes so it is roughly at 40 degrees. It is only at 46 degrees when the enzymes begin to be destroyed.
I hope this helps Andrew. Have a good day!
this is one of the main reasons why I want a Vitamix. I want to be more healthy and want to have a machine high powered enough to do so.
Hi Tommy, thanks for the video! What should i do il my soup have bubbles?
Great video Tommy!!! 👌👯😘
+Blender Babes Thank you for watching ! :)
+Tommy Nicholas - Raw Blend Ate you coming to Expo West this weekend??
+Blender Babes Unfortunately, we won't be at the show this year. I will definitely get in contact with you soon RE: cross promotion! Enjoy the show!
Dayam that was easy to make.
Please keep making raw soup recipes. I've been using the vitamix for 8 yrs & every night Ive make a raw soup in it. Leafy green based soups are more difficult to enjoy for most people - you have to find the right balance of ingredients. Maybe some of the green soups would be great to show on your channel?
Hi holy living
That is wonderful to hear :) and thank you for your feedback - we really appreciate it. We do have more recipes on our website: www.rawblend.com.au if you want to check them out. Have a great day and Happy Blending.
A KT have you been using the same vitamix or have you had it replaced
I just got mine a few days ago, i was surprised that it didn't have a button that said heat on it, but you just explained that for me.Before I bought this I didn't think I wanted a blender that heated, but boy i changed my mind,I have always made my own homemade soups, in large batches, but this fresh meatless soup, is gonna be so good for me, and my son.
Hi Carol Napolitano
Glad we could help :)
Thanks for watching and happy blending!
Tommy Nicholas.......loved it. I see a lot of tomato basil soups with the vitamix, but this one was pretty good, especially on cold days like today. Cheers.
Hi paul b
Glad you liked it! It's certainly one of our favourites.
Have a great day!
Your accent is beautiful but so strong, many of the ingredients you said I had no idea what you were speaking of until I saw the food. In American the word Basil is pronounced as "Bay- sil", not bahh-cill.
There were others but that really leaped out! 😄
Brook in Indiana, USA
Haha thanks Brook! Yes crazy how many small differences there are between the US and Australia even though we both speak English. Capsicum and Bell Pepper, Coriander and Cilantro, Spring Onion and Scallions just to name a few. Thanks for watching :)
Great video Tommy. I was just wondering if you could answer a question that's been plaguing me. Does the intense speed of the blades break down any potential nutrition? I have read it breaks down the digestive enzymes and other things
Hi Gloupek9,
The Vitamix will heat roughly 10 degrees every minute, so if you wanted to preserve all of the enzymes, you could leave it running for up to 4 minutes without destroying any of the nutrients. You can always use a thermometer to double check. I hope this helps!
Hi! Love your videos! Keep making them I love my new vitamix! One question, what can I use instead of nuts? Or can I just skip them? Thanks!
Hi Linette,We use nuts to make the soup creamy. We've made a few using shredded coconut instead or you could try avocado? Thanks for watching and happy blending!
Wow I'm so glad I found you and your wonderful recipes. Any chance I can substitute cashew with almonds? Or what other nut would you suggest? Thanks alot!! I'm so excited to try your recipes
Almonds would work but it won't be as creamy. Claire in the office loves to substitute the cashews with White Beans like Cannellini :) A lot less fat and great for those with any nut intolerance.
Hi Phaseme0810,
We use Massell Stock cubes which we find really tasty and low in sodium.
I hope this helps!
Hi Cassandra Harris, 12 Steps to Raw Foods has some really healthy soup recipes amongst some other fantastic raw food recipes. It's a great addition to your book collection. I hope this helps!
Do that raw cook book have soup recipe in it
te amo por esta sopa jajaja
I would like to make plit peas soup in my vitamix but I cant find any receipes I do love tomato basil to but plti pea is one my fav could you make one up for us Linda
Hi Tommy! I would like to get some advices...Above 46°Celsius, the enzymes get screwed so in order to not destroy those precious enzymes what would be the average time to run the vitamix? i noticed that your marvelous soup was steaming. Would it be fine as well rather using cold water to use instead luke warm water then just spin the mix for, let say , 30 seconds? Thanks for your nice video
Hi SonriseRoofing,
The soups usually make around 1 litre, which is roughly 4 servings.
The link to the recipe is just under the video :)
I hope this helps!
Hi Tommy, thank you for this amazing recipe! For how long this soup can be stored in the fridge?
Thank you :)
Hi Elli, they're always best eaten fresh but depending on the ingredients used, a vegetable soup should last about 3-4 days stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Thanks for watching and happy blending!
Well, my Vitamix 5200 arrived today, and the second thing I tried in it was a variant of this soup (tomatoes, celery, carrots, basil, organic veggie stock, cashews, fresh lemon slice, and a pinch of chilli flakes). Yum, so good! It took 6 minutes from starting to grab ingredients to drinking the soup, with everything all washed up and put away. I only put a tiny pinch of chilli flakes in, but it's got real bite!
I'm super hungry now! I'm stoked you like it mate! Happy Blending and thanks for watching!
I don't think the whole chilli was in the recipe - just the tip! I'm not surprised it overpowered the whole dish!
you're the bomb!!!! would it be okay to prepare the portions of ingredients for individual soups and the freeze them for storage?
I don't see why that would be an issue! :) Let me know how you go and Happy Blending!
hi ..im planning to buy vitamix...☺
Hi, I'm just wondering if the vitamix also heats up smoothies when blending because of the blade friction? No one wants warm fruit smoothies!
Hi Tommy, how many servings is this? Thank u..Will this feed 3?
I enjoyed this soup 😄👍🏾
What’s the name of the cook book on the table
Hi Claire! There are two cookbooks on the side. "Fresh - The Ultimate Live-Food Cookbook (Victoria Boutenko)" and "12 Steps to Raw Food - Revised Edition (Victoria Boutenko)"
Glad you like the recipe!
Perfect! Thanks for making it vegetarian!
Our pleasure Ro! Thank you for watching and happy blending! :)
hi Tommy. Congratulations for your shows. Really like vivamix and raw blend. But has a question. When you do a hot soup. What is it's temperature after it's 5 minute? Thank you.
mark di paolo it can vary depending on what temperature your liquid is and also what temperature the ingredients are when you add them. The soup will warm up roughly 10 degrees Celsius every minute. Thanks for watching and happy blending!
If the food has a label on it, then it's not very good.
Good one. Thanks for the great video. Will make the soup in my Vitamix.
Hi Eccentriceric69, there is no inclusion of a whole birds eye chilli I only used a tiny slice. Thanks for commenting.
Can you make some recipes with the new 'Dash Blender'? This is what I have at home, I love it!
You've got blender vitamix 5200 yet? Today, I get it on: ( amzn.to/1f0La6Z with price cheap. free shipping at home for me. great , fast and quality.
Hi fansari2
We have been working with the Vitamix blender for over 20 years. If it is a high powered blender that can create friction heat it should be able to. However, as we are unsure of your blenders capabilities. it might be best to speak to the company you purchased your product off. Have a wonderful day.
I just received my new Vitamix for Christmas. Have not stop using it since. I made this today and followed exact directions. Absolutely delicious!! I wonder though can avacado sub for cashews Tommy? Thanks for your recipes and great tips. So very helpful.
This would be interesting with Avocado... I haven't tried it in all honesty. Why not give it a go :) Happy blending!
I'm used to tomato soup being red, any advice?
Just bought a 5000 at ShopGoodwill. No tax there either. Looks brand new. Probably never used. I'm trying this soup for lunch.
Hi Tommy, what kind of Chili did you use in this video? Thank you.
Hi there, I use the Red Cayenne Chilli's. They're just common chillis - not too spicy, so I'm sure you could use your favourite chilli, and just adjust the amount according to how spicy you want it. Thanks for watching!
Hi Tommy, I am thinking of purchasing the Vitamix S30, will I be able to make a raw hot soup with this smaller model the same way? Do you have reviews on smaller models of the Vitamixers?
+Alisa Antonelli Thank you for your comment. You can certainly make hot soups in the Vitamix S30 however it will be done in smaller quantities. It certainly won't be able to handle to same amount as the TNC 5200. It comes with an amazing cookbook with many soup ideas. Thank you for watching and happy blending !
Hmmm, they don't have that model at Target, which is where I'm getting my unit. I am going for a certified reconditioned model then with the 64 oz. pitcher. I do hope that I can get a smaller pitcher as an additional accessory. I'm following you - I'm new to this entirely and haven't a clue on where to begin. Thank you for the quick response!
Forgot to mention that the heat temp is just perfect. Not scolding hot.
Good to hear :)
can you reheat leftovers in the vitamix
Certainly can Crystal D. Happy blending and thanks for watching!
Ok. That really wasn't bad. I was totally ready to smash this video. Quite surprised it worked lol.
Please don't smash my video haha! Glad you liked it in the end. This is the oldest video on my channel, wish I could redo it now haha!
Dear Tommy: I am wondering if almonds or peanuts could be used instead of cashews in this particular soup? Thank you, Tommy.
Hey David! Thank you so much for your kind words and thank you for watching! You could use Almonds or Peanuts however, it won't be as creamy. If you're going to use almonds or peanuts maybe cut down the liquid component or try adding some white beans in there :) Happy Blending!
the vegetarian stock cube that used, is that GMO free?
+Monica Capuchino Certainly is Monica. We use MASSEL stock cubes. Thanks for watching and happy blending! :)
Honestly, I was excited about this recipe, so I quickly ran out to get all the ingredients, but no one in my household liked it, including myself :(
Sorry to hear Cou! It's one of our best loved recipes when we do demos and shows etc. Maybe give one of our other recipes a try. Happy Blending!
Which model Vitamix is this? Thank you.
Hi Lanatarr,
We are demonstrating the Vitamix TNC 5200 :)
Have a great day!
My vitamix 5300 started shaking at speed 2. When i brought it down to 1 even then it kept shaking- I made it run for a minute and it shut off. After an hour, when it switched on again th same thing happened. Any idea what's wrong or so I have a piece of junk?
Thank you for your comment Jaya, you need to have your machine on HIGH speed when doing soups. It will jump when on the low variable. Make sure you get it up onto the HIGH speed as soon as possible and use your tamper effectively. Thank you for watching and happy blending.
