  • This soup was fresh-tasting and healthy. It was easy to do, once I discovered the benefit of a "tamper." The Vitamix uses friction to cook the soup in under 6 minutes. More soups coming soon -- thank you for watching. More information about the Vitamix here: amzn.to/3CLknZt

    Dude, you're killing me. NEVER take the top off and use the tamper but hey we all got to start somewhere. Bravo and Vitamix well!

    Terrific idea. Looks delicious! Perfectly seasonal. Just a little hint: I think if you just cut the tomatoes in half, the blades would have had an easier surface to grab onto at the beginning.

    Thanks for your video!
    Because you were having such a hard time the first couple minutes I decided to cut up the tomatoes and other ingredients before placing them into the blender.
    I used a whole yellow bell pepper and left the seeds and stem.
    I also quartered the tomatoes.
    I bought mine because I’ve been starting to eat one whole lemon a day, with the rind and seeds. All ground up with organic blueberries and I add the paste that it creates to my gallon of water I drink gallon. It’s really yummy.

    Wow!! I remember seeing a demo of a vita mix being used and how it made a really good soup. Hmm... I might just have to get one of these little miracles of modern technology. Thank you for sharing this recipe and making this video. The soup looks super fresh and delicious! You are amazing as always. Take care and be safe! Bon Appetit! 😋💖🙏

    What I love about your cooking, Kevin, is even when you have problems you show us! Your tomatoes got stuck, the red peppers sank... you're just like the rest of us! You even admit you owned the Vitamix for a few years and didn't know it cooked soup!

  • @FerrisFareMusic

    This video is a perfect example of why we all love you! Ingredients stuck - just jam them down. Garnish sinks? Who cares - use a different kind. You make us realize that we could do this, too - plus you're just so darn friendly! Thanks for always brightening my day! ♥

    Thanks Kevin. I've had a Vitamix for years but for some reason (?) never made soup with it. I think I will tomorrow, thanks to your demonstration! Looks delicious.

    Looks delicious. The home grown tomatoes and fresh basil would heighten the flavors I'm sure. Thank you for demonstrating the vitamix soup feature.

    This is more of a vegetable soup than a tom soup. I love spicy vegetable soup. Can't wait to make this tomorrow! Thank you Kevin.

    I had always been dubious of this as a marketing gimmick so after seeing yours I gave it a try. I don't have a Vitiamix so used my Zwilling a Henkel knife folk company. I used most of the ingredients you had minus some I didn't have plus others I did have. About five minutes it was steaming, yea so took out my kitchen thermometer and read 179 f and absolutely super delicious! Perfectly smooth and tasty, thanks for showing me a great new way to make quick and delicious soup!

      Hi David! I'm a big fan of Zwilling J.A. Henckels. GREAT to know the Zwilling blender is powerful enough to heat soup!

    Oh, this, for me, is one of your best! Everything about it is so "relatable," from the exploration of button functionality to the "on the fly" resolutions to unanticipated issues. I, too, have had a Vitamix for years, but it really doesn't see as much use as it should. You've inspired me to try this exact recipe - so healthy! Thank you again for all you do and just for being you ... Cheers!
    PS: I don't have basil. Would sage be too strong?

      Hi Estreya - I'm only now beginning to realize the full potential of the Vitamix. What a versatile machine. My soup ingredients are merely a suggestion -- feel free to experiment!

      @estreya7370 2 роки тому

      Well, although i'm in favor of experimentation, generally speaking, i do now have some basil i can use! Thank you so much for the tutorial. This is going to be the first course of a birthday dinner, and i just know it'll be a huge hit ... @@kevinleejacobs1364

    A great video! I have used my Vitamix for soup for years now, but can totally relate to using the wrong button even now. I don't have one with the specialty buttons - so I turn it on low first, put it all the way up to 10 and then flip the switch to high speed. Works like a charm. You can put some things in whole - like carrots, garlic, etc. However, round things like tomatoes & onions are best halved or quartered to get down into the blades easily. I do find that some soups end up foamy - like broccoli cheese, so I will simply reverse the order and take it down off of high speed the n lower the dial to 1 or 2 to let some of the air bubbles dissipate. A little parsley always adds a nice flavor to soups and if you don't care about being vegan/vegetarian, some chicken broth is good too. I will sometimes cheat using Better than Bouillon and warm water to start. Easy peasy - no excuse to eat canned stuff.

    Enough tomatoes do ya think? How about making the soup red in color . . . just a thought
    However, looks scrumptious!!

    • @lsnelson7656
      @lsnelson7656 2 роки тому +1

      Wouldn't that require food coloring? The green peppers, celery, basil, all overpowered the tomato red. You'd have to leave those out to get red soup, I would think. Then it would only be cooked pureed tomatoes.

      From reports I've read, the Vitamix heats soup to 160-170°F. That's considered a safe temperature range for the mixer's heavy duty PBA-free container.
