According to the WHO, 16% of the world's population is disabled 1.3 Billion people!) that is 1 in 6 of us. It's a massive minority and one that anyone can join in just a second, which is why it's so important for everything to be designed/implemented from an accessible standpoint. It is SO MUCH MORE expensive to retrofit a place to be accessible than to just build it that way in the first place! As well as acquiring a disability at some point in life, just think about "temporary disability" like breaking a bone, SO MANY people live alone or just don't have the support of someone who can be there 24/7 for an extended period of time. Melissa's 2 videos give a teeny tiny glimpse of just one small aspect of living with a disability/restriction is like. If you have a broken arm/leg etc and experience a temporary period of disability and how hard just that small change makes life so much more difficult, please continue to be open minded about how other people with significantly more disabling conditions live, often on such inhuman budgets due to being unable to work, yet having a disability causes day to day expenses in excess of the norm! So many countries worldwide will be voting this year, no matter where you live or your political affiliation, please consider how, who you are planning on voting for treats people with disabilities, that minority who you could join at any moment and with 1 in 6 people affected - people who you know and love. You learn a lot about a society by how it treats the most vulnerable, it may not affect you right now but it most likely will at some point in the future
90% of people have or will be disabled for at least 6mo in their lifetime and it's much higher for those that reach retirement age. Also the rate of currently disabled people in the US was 25% pre COVID! Also, on the political side I heard something that kinda blew my mind: all oppression is rooted in ablism. It's always the idea that X people can't be treated equally because they are "deficient" in some way. Women are weak, African Americans are stupid (used to be a medical term for the mentally disabled btw) even the idea Asians are smart. It's always about how capable they are or aren't. If we are to end discrimination in all it's forms, teaching the idea that disabled people are just as valuable and capable of independence as everyone else is the fastest, most effective and, in the end, the only way to do so. Imho a good place to start is to live up to the idea behind the ada and create a built environment that is actually fully accessible for everyone! (Ex the handicapped parking at my local playground doesn't connect to anything and doesn't even have a curb cut! Meanwhile I can't get there via the sidewalk or street because both get blocked with parked cars, many trucks & SUVs with hoods taller than I am when standing up!) Ty for reading my little rant. Please seek out disabled creators here and on other online and IRL spaces. 💜🥄💜
Thank you so so much for this very informative and kind comment. That’s what these people in power don’t understand, they too can become disabled at any moment or someone they love and money doesn’t fix everything. In 2016 the CDC went behind our backs and made guidelines that the DEA took it as a law and it’s not (they’re guidelines), they revised them but it hasn’t helped us in the chronic pain community much. We live in excruciating pain 24/7 and we basically have the DEA, CDC etc…in our doctor’s office. I lost my brother due to him being taken off his much needed pain medication cold turkey. We have a fentanyl crisis in America, not an Opioid Crisis. Look at the statistics. Now we have our veterans k*lling themselves bc they can’t take the pain, we lose people in the chronic pain community to suicide all the time and it’s heartbreaking. Some people can live without medication, but some of us unfortunately cannot. Our doctors are being scared out of prescribing, bc some really good doctors went to prison. One doctor who was in his 70s, house got raided when he was out of the state at another doctor’s hearing as a character witness (I believe). Anyways this doctor treated some of the worst pain in the world like CRPS (chronic regional pain syndrome) and he just decided to retire…his name is Dr Forest Tennant (he did it with tears in his eyes). You can read his life’s work and what happened by just typing his name in Google. He was highly respected and still is. Again thank you so much for your comment 💜
I have an high functioning autistic son, he a germophobe and he has some need to always clean. This activity alleviates stress and anxiety somewhat, but when checking his work he notices the products don’t clean as the instructions say. When he asked me why companies would lie to us I responded by saying they didn’t know. After researching different places and platforms, I found both this channel an “Clean That Up.” Once I had told him about these sources he noticed that when he cleaned almost all of the (not even trying to act like I know what it is) stuff. I thank you so much for bringing a smile to his face again!
My wonderful daughter bought me a multi-functional spin scrubber. It has 8 different brushes for cleaning. It charges like a cell phone. Completely charged in 2 hours and can be used for 3 hours. The head tilts and the handle is extendable. She got it on Amazon and it was reasonably priced. It was a great Mother’s Day gift ❤️ Thank you Melissa. There are very few sites that offer cleaning techniques that focus on people with issues that make cleaning difficult. 🙂
I have gotten scrubbers that chuck in my drill. It is a *bit* heavy, but I spend a fraction of the time doing the job. I even used them on my car upholstery. How is the weight on your arm after using it for 15 minutes?
I use most of your tips and ideas already. I wish you were around 20 years ago so I wouldn’t have to discover these things alone. I hope everyone who is searching for solutions pay close attention. She is spot on.
I've been watching her videos for years and love them. I've use multiple tips and tricks and it also has help speed up my processes. And I used to clean for a living. ❤
Last year I had to quit work and file for disability, it was a really hard decision to make and I felt so defeated. I won’t know for another 11 months if they approve my disability or not. It’s been really hard having no income and it’s taken a toll on me mentally. I used to clean to help with my anxiety, it made me feel good and seeing a clean house made me feel relaxed and accomplished. Last month, I completely broke down because I couldn’t do what I could previously. I know I have to accept my new normal, but it’s hard. I try to make things easier, but with no income coming in, I don’t think I’ll be able to buy anything new. However, I will try to implement these ideas with what I have and hope things get better. Praying for all those who are dealing with any type of hardship!
I have seen a lot of UA-cam channels that have taught me how to make stuff out of packaging. I no longer feel a strong desire to get organizers or containers. I have seen some videos use old packaging as scrubbers. I don't know if that helps, but it certainly keeps me from spending money unnecessarily.
I am learning to pace myself with chronic illness... I love your videos, but I'm often exhausted just watching them, so this was a great way to start to rethink how to manage household chores, with more limited abilities than I had in the past. Thank you! ❤
This is physical therapist approved video! Great tips for those with limited mobility and for the elderly. Now you empower them with the tools they need to keep their homes clean. Thank you for making this video! God bless you.
Very good advice for seniors, or handicapped. As a senior, retired RN, I don't want to climb etc., always looking for space saving items, living minimally without clutter. Thank you for taking the time to address this. I also use a cordless hand drill w/ brush accessories to clean etc. Anything cordless and wheels is always my choice.
I have no suggestions, I just wanted to say thank you for this. I've had eight strokes and four grand mal seizures this year, and I am learning a lot of new things about what is required of me to sort of reclaim my life. This series has made me hopeful, and maybe I can reclaim a clean space that someone else doesn't have to provide for me. That's the thing I've struggled with the most - it's so hard to ask someone who has already helped you to help you with something that you have created yourself. Simply living in a space creates some mess, no matter how hard you try not to do that. Thank you for thinking to do this.
I love my Makers mop to clean my shower and bathtub. It saves my back from hurting my back and my knees that were injured in a car accident. Thank you Melissa and Chad!!!
Thank you for making this video, I just turned 37 and I have spondylethesis and pinched nerves they go down my legs and cause terrible pain pretty much all the time. The grabber to not have to bend over has been invaluable to me. These tools help return some of our independence and freedom from horrible constraints of chronic pain.
Love using a stool on casters, although mine has a height adjustable pneumatic seat so that I can raise or lower myself to manage seated cleaning of higher and lower surfaces. The laundry sorter is great,: but I suggest using two! One is for laundry, of course; but a second one is nice for refuse recyclables! Where I live I am required by community code to rinse and separate all plastic and metal packaging before tossing it. The bags are perfect to separate rinsed plastic bottles, glass jars, and cans into light weight and easily portable packages. Finally, I remove pet hair from carpet or furniture by attaching a pair of worn "latex" kitchen gloves to my Makers Mop by sliding them onto it, then dampening the rubber slightly with water and sweeping it over surfaces to collect the hair! Thanks, M, for so many great tips!
Thank you for addressing needs for us with limited mobility. I helps keep us independent. I do have people who refuse to use aids around the house. Hope by sharing your content helps others.👏👏🤐
Absolutely love this! I've been on a journey since injuring my knee. A clean house is so important to me, but last year, I was left for 5 months awaiting a surgery unable to walk and had to depend on friends coming over to help clean as I was in a wheelchair. I now injured my other knee, but am still somewhat mobile, so this video comes in perfectly timed for me ❤️👍🏻
This is such valuable information and content! I’m 65 and have struggled with mobility issues for years. I’m so impressed that you are addressing this issue as a real need for many people. I , unfortunately, have to have one of my daughters come to help me with housework. The floors are the biggest challenge for me. I know it’s after the deadline, but I’ve dreamed of having a Dyson cordless stick vacuum!!! I have two pets. The shedding is miserable and totally unmanageable for me. I have shoulder issues and back problems. Vacuuming is so painful for me. Mopping is out of the question! I look at the vacuum and DREAM!!! If you have any future drawings, I would love to be entered into one for a vacuum. I appreciate you addressing this very real issue for many, many of us! I love your content and your videos are very helpful. Thank you, Melissa!!!! ❤
My parents are independent and still live in their home. My 96-year-old mom always wants to help me as I do some of the cooking and cleaning. Thank you for doing the homework for me as I try to find tools that allow her to contribute to the best of her ability. My favs were the lightweight vacuum cleaner and the scrubber.
Love your videos and these ideas. Having had a father who had ALS whose life and mobility changed dramatically, I know this information is important for so many.
I’ll be 74 in September. I don’t know what happened, but it just seemed like one day I woke up, and had limited mobility. I don’t give up easily, and I wanted to continue taking care of my house. So I just happened to be on You Tube and ran across this video, and I must say, this video has been a blessing and a lifesaver for me. As soon as I saw the video, I checked the amount of money that I had with my limited income against the bills that I owed. So I decided to go for it and purchase a rolling cart, a an extendable pole with different cleaning tools and another extended pole with different cleaning tools to clean the outside of a car, but I’m not gonna use it for car cleaning. My front porch is filthy with unbelievable dirt and cobwebs, and I can’t afford to get it cleaned all the time by someone else. The car cleaning kit with extendable pole is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I can hardly wait to get my front porch cleaned. The part that is so dirty is the ceiling and the top part on the side. It’s all painted white. Plus, I bought a magnet with an extended pole and a handheld thing that holds a one-sided razor. Now the glass top on my stove looks spotless. And also purchased a cordless electric spin scrubber for the kitchen sink and lavatories. What a timesaver! I just can’t thank you enough for all these suggestions. For months now, I have sat in my easy char watching TV and becoming more depressed with each day, because I couldn’t figure out how to clean a lot of areas in my house. You have just given me a new lease on life, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hello Melissa and CMS Team 🤗, I’m so grateful for this series of videos, they came right on time for me. I am Disabled with chronic pain and limited mobility, multiple severe medical issues and I recently had a major fall. Back in Sept 2023. I currently have my third set of braces on both ankles, both knees and multiple injuries to my back, as well. I just started Physical Therapy for my back and core, this is week 4. It is so hard to do daily tasks I am so overwhelmed and don’t have any help. So I’m trying to do it myself and I am struggling physically and it’s exhausting at times. I have a cart on wheels in my bathroom for bathrooms cleaning supplies under my over the toilet rack nestled to the side next to my toilet. I keep my swifter wet jet in the bathroom behind the door w/swifter pads on cart. In my kitchen, I have some supplies under the sink. But I do have a small cleaning caddy too. But I can’t seem to find a better solution for them. I do have two fairly new vacuums a handheld an upright both for pets. ( even though I don’t own pets currently ). I get a tremendous amount of dust in my apartment. It’s hard to keep up with it all. Not sure what to do… From this video, I do like the idea of the creeper stool, the Maker broom and the spin scrubber w/ extensions. I have high walls and ceilings. *** Please make this a regular segment series of videos with this concept content on cleaning w/limited mobility. *** Thank you so much., Crystal from NYC 😊
They are invaluable! I have several grabbers a little different than the one she showed. Found them at thrift stores so they are a little old. Mine have a little magnet already on it. Keep them in different areas of the house so they are close at hand. 😊
For anyone who uses a laundromat or has to take laundry up & down stairs, I HIGHLY recommend investing in a stair climbing laundry basket! I wouldn’t be able to do laundry by myself without one. Thank you for making this video series! It’s nice to know I’m not the only person who struggles with cleaning. ❤
I need one of those. I have have stairs and can't take anything up and down really because I have my cane in one hand and holding onto the railing with the other. I use cross body straps for anything I can strap to my body going up and down. Come to think of it, I probably couldn't handle even a climbing basket unless it's pretty light still.
Monicarlo15 I probably ordered it from Amazon. It's been more than 10 years but I'm sure I ordered it because taking it home on a bus would have been a lot lol
@@JustWatchMeDoThis yeah the one I have definitely takes some strength to pull it up the stairs when it’s full 😕 but it’s a lot better than trying to carry something imo!
The electric expandable scrubber has been a big help! I definitely want to get your mop and love the cart on wheels and the stool on wheels you mentioned in the last video! Thank you so much for doing this! I have suffered with chronic pain & autoimmune issues for 10+ years and love all the tips and tricks! My mom was just diagnosed with Parkinson’s and I will be sharing this video with her and picking up some things for her as well! Thank you again so much!!! ❤️❤️
I am 24yo and my chronic pain has made it very very difficult to keep up with cleaning even tho I am not working right now. My mom has offered me an electric brush and I am excited to use it! I know this is a cleaning channel but you have done such an amazing job at research that I wonder if we could get a video on accessible kitchen tools. I always feel like cooking is one of these tasks that take me lots of energy but I love cooking. I wish it could be less demanding.
Thank you so much for this video and your response to my query about mobility & cleaning. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos. I started my "spring cleaning" April 1st thinking that I would need two weeks as opposed to the two days it took in my youth. Well surprise, it took me two months. But discovering your channel has helped inspire me along the way and I appreciate the updated techniques & products. Thank you Melissa.
Thanks for taking the time to address an issue that impacts so many of us. We appreciate you. Im under 5 feet tall and deaf in one ear as well as being older, so for me ladders are not my friend and the grabber would help me keep my feet on the ground lol. Ive also been wanting a scrubber for cleaning the shower though. Been meaning to get one of those.
Thanks so much for recognizing those of us with chronic illness and mobility/endurance issues! I love my rotating scrubber. It allows me to complete my bathroom cleaning in one session where before I had to break the room in zones and do them at different times. And I have just realized the value of my reacher to remove laundry from the dryer. These tools keep me feeling functional and prolong my ability to care for my home independently. Thanks!❤️
I had mentioned in your previous video that I love your Makers Mop. I have psoriatic arthritis and osteo arthritis and your mop is wonderful for floors, tub and shower cleaner, walls, ceilings. I got it when you first came out with it and have loved it since. Thank you for doing videos to help those with chronic conditions and special needs. 🤗💚💙💜
OMG Melissa, thank you so much for doing these 2 part videos. I am in a wheelchair due to diabetes & have arthritis in both hands. I love the Maker's Mop for hard to reach places. I also use the Maker's Microfiber cloths as well. My absolute go to for easy cleaning is the Synoshi spin scrubber. Fabulous tool. Keep up the great content!!!
THE ROLLING STOOL! I will be getting one. thanks for covering this subject. I have been watching for several years now. I have some of your cleaning cloths, the mop, and the face cloths. Also, if I don't use the S-wipe when I clean up, I feel BAD! Anyway, thanks for everything!
Hi! My favorite is the rolling cleaning cart. It would make things so much easier having everything together. Thank you so much for your videos. God’s blessings to you and your family.
Already use a few of these, and now have ideas for many more! Thank you so much for making additional content to raise awareness about making cleaning more universally accessible!
This is great! I use a grabber you can orient the pincher part either sideways or vertical to make it easier to get stuff. I glued a magnet to the middle of the inside head so if I'm getting a can or something, it'll hold heavier without slipping! I also use a kids plastic chair (they've outgrown them) when cleaning the floors. If it rolled I think I wouldn't be able to push the brush I hold as much/as hard since I'd have my legs engaged to keep the cart still. I'm seriously considering the mop you showed. My arthritis, since I was little, hates the weather change but the house still gets dirty. Thank you for making this video! I currently have a mop bucket with a handle that I put all my cleaning stuff in. A rolling cart may help me keep track of my drink! 😂 Thank you💖
I'm happy that you mentioned the spin scrubber! With my neck issues, vertigo and migraines, scrubbing with a standard long handled brush can really truly exacerbate symptoms. You have convinced me that the spin brush is a tool I should invest in. Thank you!!! 🎉❤😊
Good day Melissa, I have been watching your videos for years and years and always find them helpful and insightful. You are always coming out with new ways to help and improve our lives with our everyday cleaning and organizing tasks. These past couple videos on helping people with limited mobility are wonderful! I can now use this information to help out my clients with limited mobility, so thank you! Your friend, - Ashley K. ❤
Thank you so much for doing these videos on limited mobility, I always enjoy your videos, but this one especially help me immensely. I just turned 56 yo and have been waiting over 3 years for knee replacement surgery (both knees) and just walking around my home has become a struggle. All of the products you mentioned look like they would be extremely helpful, but I think the Maker's Mop is the best bang for the buck (can use in multiple areas around the house). Again, thank you for providing such great content!!!
That extendible electric scrubber sounds very useful but if it is heavy some people would have a problem lifting it. I love the cleaning ghost and that's what my mom called it!!
These are great suggestions, as a mom with chronic pain and two young kids (age 5 and 6) I have found having small cleaning goals has helped as well as helping teach my kids how to pick up their things and put them away. Most of the clutter in our house comes from lots of imaginative play and they have learned if they can take it out then they can help put it away.
I just bought an Electric Extendible Scrubber based on this video and it has changed my cleaning life! I've also added other items you mentioned to get in the near future since I'll probably need them too.
I am SO glad that you are doing a limited mobility video series!!!! I have been wanting this for soooooo long. My sister and I have a podcast all about my neurodivergent brain, and I was just talking to her about how cleaning is so difficult for me. These ideas are sure to help me out! Thank you!!!!!
I like these videos. They are very helpful for my elderly mother. I like the tool with the brushes that help with getting into the corners of the shower. My mom would LOVE such a tool.
As a wheelchair user, your mop makes cleaning so much easier. I forgot about the "ghost" thing, though - thanks for the reminder on that! I also have an electric scrubber that I use to make cleaning the tub easier. I used to have that 3-piece laundry sorter but there's not enough room in the new condo, so I've swapped that out for a large hamper that is also on wheels. I use my grabber (which also has a handy magnet on the end of the handle) to get those things I can't reach at the bottom of the hamper. Life is so much easier with these tools.
I am paraplegic and the daughter of a professional housekeeper so I use many of these tools already as I like to be self sufficient and take pride in having a clean home. Grabbers in every room! 😂❤
Congratulations on your award with makers mop . It's good to help me with mobility issues with cleaning . I like the cleaning ghost From 🇬🇧. Also can make your videos more worldwide it's heavy on the American market
The powered extendable scrubber is a dream come true. I love to clean and have even thought of starting my own cleaning business, but some recent back and nerve issues have taken a toll on me. I saw this on Amazon ordered and next day was loving this thing. Scrubbing the bathtub was the biggest help. My daughter kept hearing me praise it and wanted one to. Silly Mother's day gift but she is in love with it, also commented that she loved doing base board with it. I hadn't even thought about that. Thanks for doing a series on this, cleaning has been one of the biggest frustrations for me. I'm house proud I guess and stressing when you can't do the work like you used to.
The Makers Mop is GENIUS!! No more killing my back cleaning our baseboards. The angle of the mop head allows it to get right into the crease against the wall. No bending! We also use it for washing walls and tall shower walls. It’s great for floors too. We got two of them so we could keep on upstairs and one in the basement. It really has saved my back!
I love the cleaning ghost ideas, I have tried my own ghost ideas to help me clean above my head and I can stay stable as a disabled person on solid ground! The spray bottle is something I will invest in for sure as well as the laundry cart idea. I have a single one but three would be enough better, after separating all the laundry for my family, I usually have to put it all on the floor then I have to bend to pick them up and it becomes a hardship. Thanks Melissa for everything you do in making myself simpler with all the ideas you post! I still use the many cleaning recipes for each room in the house as well as the many liquid hand soaps ideas, that started with the Covid-19 pandemic! Always, a great experiment with each new idea 💡! 👍🎉
Thank you, Melissa, for showing the small rolling stool. It'll be great for painting on low walls and trim, as well as cleaning. I'd never seen the powered smaller spray bottle either, which is genius!
I truly appreciate this video so so so much!!! I'm super pregnant and I have definitely reached the limited mobility stage of my pregnancy. So I have been concerned with how I will continue cleaning our home in the until I get to the last few weeks for labor and delivery. My toughest job is keeping our stone shower clean. I'm so happy to learn about the shower cleaner tool, the stool, and the grabber tool. I needed all of those tools from the beginning of my pregnancy! I'm happy to know that I can continue to deep clean as needed even with limited mobility due to your super great and educational video of awesome tools out there to help. God bless and I love your channel!
As my husband and I age, we have experienced more pain when cleaning and doing other chores around the house. For spring cleaning , I got a couple of stools. Drill driven scrub brushes and extendable tools. It makes all the difference between can't do and success. I enjoy seeing your ideas and recommendations. Bless you for the service you are providing. It is a big hurdle just to admit you need help. It is good to know I am not in it alone.
I've been waiting for this video since you announced it last week Melissa. Thank you for this content. Something I'd like to share about people with limited mobility, at least my experience, is for others to not be afraid afraid or embarrassed to both ask AND offer help if you can, even if something seemingly small. Before having mobility issues I always said I wouldn't like anyone helping me (I thought that would be embarrassing.) But once I started experiencing mobility limitations, many times I've wished people would offer help. Sometimes it's not even the physical help, it's the mental part of it. For example, when having to cross a busy street with my crutches, I wished the people that were passing me by would have offered to accompany me the stretch of the crossroad. Of course they couldn't have walked it for me, but it would have been lovely if they could have walked it WITH me ❤️. No one ever did, and that stuck with me a lot. I still have some mobility issues but now they are different. What would be helpful right now would be to have that cleaning rolling 🛒 cart, it would be lovely 💕. Have a great week everyone.
Thank you for these! I am looking for items that my husband can use, since he has EDS and very unstable joints -- sometimes his shoulder can start to slip out of the socket if he is just eating or hanging up his coat and it is severely painful if he doesn't stop it from slipping all the way out. I am going to look at the reacher grabber tool and the electric scrubber. Please keep these videos coming; we really appreciate it! I subscribe to 3 other cleaning channels and none of those have dedicated specific videos solely to cleaning/organizing with mobility issues.
This video came in perfect timing. I have arthritis in my hands and a herniated back. I ordered the mop several days ago and am looking forward to it arriving. I love cleaning my home but I can't clean like I used to, I just do what I can do a little each day. Thank you for all your videos. They are so helpful.
I have been watching your videos for years now and also own many of your microfiber cloths and makers mop. Your products have been great and your ideas have been very helpful through all these years. I have been suffering with arthritis and mobility issues and this recent video was of great interest to me. Thank you for your content!
Thank you for this content! I'm just an older woman with arthritis, so I shouldn't complain as there are so many folks who have it much worse, but this content is so necessary!
Thanks for thinking of us, Melissa! I adapted when Fibromyalgia cratered my career and took my life savings. I powered through treatment for aggressive cancer that left me with peripheral neuropathy and lymphedema. Unfortunately, congenital scoliosis, severe spinal stenosis and two herniated discs stacked on shoulder dysplasia / arthritis have left me feeling defeated when it comes to daily cleaning tasks. I appreciate the tips you and your commenters shared.
Thank you so much for your video. It's so wonderful that you care enough to see and hear those of us with chronic pain. I would love to get the Makers Mop and extendable scrubbers. 😊
Great follow-up, Melissa! Thank you. You can't imagine how many lives you're changing for the better. ❤ I LOVE my electric extenible scrubber!! I use it for the shower and tub, but I also use it for the grout in tile floor in the hallway (with your FANTASTIC DIY cleaner of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda!), the glass panels of our hallway chandelier that's way up in the pitch of the roof, and windows and sills. Even my husband uses a separate one for a bunch of outdoor projects: washing the cars, cleaning the deck, and cleaning the garbage cans. We both find it to be a game changer. I will be looking into those electric spray bottles for my niece who has rheumatoid arthritis in her hands. And I think I'll be looking into the Maker's Mop as well! The top of my kitchen cabinets are easy enough to dust, but a nightmare to clean. I literally stand on a ladder to do it. This mop has the potential to end that nightmare!🤞
I love my shark robot vacuum and my tinco vac mop. I just received my order from you and love my black dish clothes, also got the waffle towels and microfiber towels and am gonna order more. Thank you for your awesome products Melissa ❤
Hi, would you please tell me more aborto your shark vacuum? Iv've been considering ordering one and would value your opinion on ease of use and weight.
Thank you so much for making this video! I do use the spray bottle dispenser for two things: for my hair and for my microfiber mop when I cant' get it to a closer water source. I would LOVE to get the extendable scrubber. I clean many houses along with my own and this will be very helpful to prevent future mobility issues no matter how old I am.
I use a grabber very often. I am interested in the lightweight vacuum, as that is one of the things on my list of "no-gos" because of my injuries. I also have one of the scrubbers in my cart on Amazon, but have not made up my mind to purchase it yet. I have not yet watched the first video, I am about to do that now. Thank you so much for this content. I have never seen a video that covers chronic pain and mobility issues for cleaning and I really appreciate it!
Thank you, Melissa! I have a partially paralyzed right side. I appreciate all the tips & tricks i can get! Love your microfiber cloths & mop & videos/cleaning recipes!
I recently got an electric telescoping scrubber and it is great! very much recommend! Also as Melissa mentioned vacuums- Totally agree with your comment about the robot vac. I have one but I find I still need another vacuum to really get the job done. Biggest game changer was switching out my old vacuum to a cordless one! Having a cord to manage and a canister on wheels on my old vacuum really affected my body mechanics while I was cleaning and was really hard on my back. With my new cordless vacuum I can so SO much more without increasing my pain levels!
I have issues in my elbow that leaves me in significant pain for a few days after srcubbing my tubs and showers. I just ordered an electric scrubber and am so excited! I'm hoping it helps to alleviate the pain and as a result helps me to keep my tubs cleaner.
I love my electric spin scrubber. It makes cleaning the shower so much easier! I originally bought it to clean my tile floor but it has proven itself time and again as the perfect bathroom cleaning tool.
Thank you for this great video! I have Spina Bifida and have been in a wheelchair my whole life- so content like this is super helpful to me. I have some of these products and will look into the others.
Thank you for your video! Last year I was diagnosed with Orthostatic Hypotension (a type of dysautonomia) and it makes prolonged standing, bending down, reaching/looking up, and any type of physical exertion both exhausting and a potential trigger for fainting. I will definitely look into getting the reaching grabber/scrub tools and some products on wheels!
Thank you for the video! Not only do I suffer from autoimmune, limited mobility, and pain issues; I also have extreme fatigue. Thus, keeping work smart is always a plus! I currently use a rolling cart for cleaning supplies. This saves on trips back and forth to the laundry room, and it helps my family to know where the cleaning supplies are so they help clean as needed. While I do not use your specific mop (sorry), I use a similar model in two styles. I have a pole style that uses both dry or wet cloths, which I use to dust up high, clean walls, etc. Thank you for trying the rotating tool with various heads. I have been debating whether or not to purchase one, but I, too, have been skeptical. I love the step stool on wheels idea! Some questions: 1 ) I have high ceilings with lots of detailed wood. Suggestions on a product to dust the doors with? The dry mop does not get into the details. 2.) I have a spa tub and I cannot bend over to get into the bottom of the deep tub or on the marble behind the tub. Or, in the jet areas. Do you believe the various tool heads and the extensions would work for the spa tub? Thanks again!
Thank you for this video! I've got chronic back pain and cleaning is often a painful task, but I manage just as we all do. I have a few of the items recommended in this video, but I think the next thing I need is the Makers Mop! I appreciate the attention to this particular topic! Thanks, Melissa!
I love your cleaning ideas. The grabber is so important to me since neither my husband nor I can get on our knees and I am in a sling now for 6 weeks with rotator cuff surgery.
I started having more issues with cleaning over the last couple of years and was happy to see this video. I already have a couple of the products you suggested and I am looking forward to trying some of the others. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing all of this information. The stool and the scrubber would be game changers for me. I would buy all of these products because bending and stooping is difficult.
Just ordered the electric mister!! I do use the Maker's mop and it has made my life easier. I do have a robot vacuum and love it. I have a somewhat new heavy vacuum and am hesitant to get another one right now. Especially since hubby just retired. A lightweight one is on my list, but we have to see how our monthly expenses work out first.
Have ordered the electric scrubbing wand. Arriving today and am so looking forward to getting it. Have arthritis and am sure this will be helpful. Thank you for your videos. 😊
I had an electric scrubber years ago. Sadly when it broke I never replaced it. Now with my limited mobility due to my broken shoulder I would love to have one again. I also like the idea of the rolling bench. Thanks so much for all your tips.
I have fibromialgia and have to tell you that I bought an electric scrubber and it's such a life saver. I would love to be able to afford a dyson vacuum cleaner to get rid of the bulky ine with a cord, as it's hard for me to pick it up and move it to other rooms, not to mention the falling hazard. Thank you for making these videos and I'm looking forward to future ones as they are a really big help and contain such useful information!
Thank you for this video. I ordered the mop directly, walk with cruthes and hard to bend. I have tried several ”homemade” tools for between floor and wall bathroom example. And so nice you deliver in Sweden ❤❤❤
Thank you Melissa for this very important issue as I am in pain all the time with fibromyalgia and back issues. I love all the products. My favorite is the vacuum. Thank yoy again.
Thank you for this. I have been on Dialysis since 2008 and have chronic pain and energy deficiency. I use a turbo scrubber and love it. I also love my Dyson V12 previously reviewed by you.
I liked the extendable rod with the different cleaning heads. That would definitely help with many tasks to make it easier to clean. Thank you for all of your helpful advice and products. 😊
Appreciate the safety info with chronic pain and limited mobility great ideas you gave and I love the mop features, use of a rolling cart and my favorite the power scrubber! Really helps clear hard water soap residue left on the porcelain shower glass shower doors. Keep up the great work and advocating for people challenged to do household chores. Cleaning companies are very expensive!
Meanwhile I can't get there via the sidewalk or street because both get blocked with parked cars, many trucks & SUVs with hoods taller than I am when standing up!)
Ty for reading my little rant. Please seek out disabled creators here and on other online and IRL spaces. 💜🥄💜
I'm getting the brush set and working on getting the vacuum!😊
What brand pleez??!!
Brand name please? Jeanne
I have the wonderful spin brush, but I haven't been able to change the brush. Luckily, I really like the brush I have on it now.
The name brand of the scrubber my daughter gave me is MABOGU Electric Spin Scrubber 8 in 1 cleaning brush
I have gotten scrubbers that chuck in my drill. It is a *bit* heavy, but I spend a fraction of the time doing the job. I even used them on my car upholstery.
How is the weight on your arm after using it for 15 minutes?
My daughter has 7 different autoimmune conditions and it means so much to me to see you take your time to research and educate on this topic.
Yes! The natural product recipes have helped reduce my inflammation levels I get with Hashimoto's.
The extendable scrubber sounds like something I would love. Getting the area behind the toilets clean is the bane of my existence!
That is one of the reasons I bought one.
Our system for filing for disability is horrible. Wishing you the best.
I love the electric spray bottle idea! That will help my arthritic hands! Thank you for the great ideas. 😁
Same here! I cleaned my shower yesterday and was barely able to spray one wall!
I have herniated discs, severe nerve damage in my back and legs, tears in my knees, and severe osteoarthritis all over my body at the age of 49.
Good products for elder people and limited mobility. Thank you Angela
I have a robot vacuum from Eco VAX and it works to help maintain pet hair. I hope this helps. It can also do mopping.
Hello Melissa and CMS Team 🤗,
I’m so grateful for this series of videos, they came right on time for me.
Not sure what to do…
From this video, I do like the idea of the creeper stool, the Maker broom and the spin scrubber w/ extensions. I have high walls and ceilings.
*** Please make this a regular segment series of videos with this concept content on cleaning w/limited mobility. ***
Thank you so much.,
Crystal from NYC 😊
The grabber looks great. My husband has limited mobility and is home alone while I am at work. This would be a great tool for him.
Monicarlo15 I have never heard of that. Where did you get it?
I'm so glad to hear that the electric expandable scrubber has been helpful for you! Thank you for your kind words and support. Melissa!
Thinking of getting electric scrubber. Very much appreciate your cleaning for people with limited mobility issues.
I have fibromyalgia and a host of other health issues. I own the extended scrubber and love it. I even got one for my mom!
Once again Melissa thank you so much for doing this , those of us with pain and mobility difficulties appreciate you so so much
Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad my content is helpful to you! Melissa
Thank you💖
This is excellent! Due to motor vehicle accidents my body isn’t what is used to be - these methods are so useful to someone like me! 🙌
I'm happy that you mentioned the spin scrubber! With my neck issues, vertigo and migraines, scrubbing with a standard long handled brush can really truly exacerbate symptoms. You have convinced me that the spin brush is a tool I should invest in. Thank you!!! 🎉❤😊
Good day Melissa,
I have been watching your videos for years and years and always find them helpful and insightful. You are always coming out with new ways to help and improve our lives with our everyday cleaning and organizing tasks. These past couple videos on helping people with limited mobility are wonderful! I can now use this information to help out my clients with limited mobility, so thank you!
Your friend,
- Ashley K.
Thank you so much for this video. I am 74 and struggle with hand arthritis. This is so helpful.
Your kind words mean a lot to me. I appreciate your enthusiasm for the video series.
I like these videos. They are very helpful for my elderly mother. I like the tool with the brushes that help with getting into the corners of the shower. My mom would LOVE such a tool.
The ghost mop and the electric extendable scrubber!!! What a great video!!!!
I just bought the extendible scrubber. It looks like a game changer!
I am paraplegic and the daughter of a professional housekeeper so I use many of these tools already as I like to be self sufficient and take pride in having a clean home. Grabbers in every room! 😂❤
I have the Maker's Mop and I love it! Just bought another one to give as a housewarming gift.
Love all the tools shown in the video! Thank you for helping us for so many years Melissa! Love from BC! 💜
I would love to try out the Maker's Mop!.
Thank you for all the Great tips, Melissa!! ❤
That's awesome to hear! The Makers Mop sounds like a game-changer for cleaning. Thanks for watching! Melissa
👍🎉
Thank you so much for doing these videos that address issues faced by those with chronic pain or limited mobility! ❤
It's great to hear that the tools are making a difference in your cleaning routine!
I use one of those foldable garden stools with storage pouches for getting low for cleaning.
Could you link the one you use or give the name? Thank you!
Thank you for this content! I'm just an older woman with arthritis, so I shouldn't complain as there are so many folks who have it much worse, but this content is so necessary!
Arthritis doesn't stand a chance against your positive attitude! Keep shining! And thanks for tuning in! Melissa
Looks like the Makers Mop and extendable scrubbers are the dream team for cleaning champions! Your choices have been noted... Melissa
Very interesting video. I do have 3 things that you mentioned in this video. Thank you for speaking out for those who suffer from pain or mobility ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback, it means a lot to me. Melissa
Thank you, Melissa! I have a partially paralyzed right side. I appreciate all the tips & tricks i can get! Love your microfiber cloths & mop & videos/cleaning recipes!
Thank you for your insights and for creating your videos. I am 4 feet 11 inches tall. So, I was glad to see the extenders and for reaching.
Who knew cleaning could be so exciting? Spin scrubbers for the win!
Been watching you forever and the information just keeps getting better. Thank you for all you do and for all the research you put into each video.
Some questions:
1 ) I have high ceilings with lots of detailed wood.
Goodness me! Poor you! Glad the video helped! Get well soon! Melissa
Thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to me.
33 year old mamma of five here I’ve got fibro osteoarthritis Rheumatoid arthritis and this is so helpful I thankyou so much x
I'm so glad to hear that the electric scrubber has been a game-changer for you! I hope you can save up for that Dyson vacuum cleaner soon.
