The part where rach and chris were in opposite positions and they started mimicking each other and laugh. I almost started crying that was so wholesome and cute!
Agreed! This is the one I have and it works perfectly for potato chips and it doesn't take up a lot of space! smile.amazon.com/Joie-Mini-Mandoline-Slicer-Colors/dp/B072FKR6J3/ref=sr_1_5_mod_primary_new?crid=I661QDV1XHZX&dchild=1&keywords=joie+mandoline+slicer&qid=1610318053&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=joie+man%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-5
I saw the cucumber sub one for the first time last week and have made it 4 times since! I did like Chris said and cut it up into bite-size pieces but also left it as an "open-face" sandwish and its way easier to eat!
My favourite recipe I learned this year was for homemade Twix bars, they were even sweetened with maple syrup, so no refined sugar! Everyone seems to love them.
I learned how to make my own yogurt from my bf's mom in Feb 2020 and 1) never bought it in the store ever since cause it's the best thing ever and store yogurt tastes bland and fake now 2) never stopped making it once every few days since then
“How do you burn things in the microwave?” Well, to answer your question that wasn’t really meant to be answered, when I was younger, I as afraid of the oven so I tried to microwave things whenever I could. One day, I had an English muffin and was told that I would still have to put it in the oven because the microwave wouldn’t heat the inside. So I decided instead to put it in the microwave for a few minutes instead. My English muffin started to get burnt and started to smoke. Thankfully nothing happened, but I learned the hard way that day that you can’t just cook non-liquid things like bread in the microwave for that long.
Boy do I have you beat here. For some reason, when I was a kid, I decided to put an empty plastic bowl in the microwave for 9999, just however many 9s my microwave could take. Let's just say we got a new microwave.
Least you didn’t put a whole Arby’s roast beef sandwich (still wrapped in its wrapper) in your parents’ brand new microwave & have the metal from the wrapper create holes in the roof of the microwave 😬
@@ee.som.o I did the same thing except it was a chick-fil-a breakfast sandwich and it's foil wrapper.. The sides of the microwave burned. The sandwich was still good though.
Rachel, if you love the skillet cookie, you’d love slutty brownies. Cookie dough base, Oreos in the center, brownie batter poured on top and then bake in the oven.
This year I learned how to make air fried Oreos. The best thing I have ever tasted (being a bit dramatic) it’s so cheap and easy. It’s just Oreos and Pillsbury croissants
Here’s to a better year, everyone. My favourite recipe I learned this year is Cerys Mathews’ green lentil and whole garlic stew. It is easy and quick ( for a stew - under an hour) to made from stuff I always have at hand and is just as tasty in the vegan and meaty versions which helps as I’m trying to cut down on meat consumption.
I am a very new baker so the fact that I made cinnamon rolls and it turned out way better than I expected is something I have done in 2020 and I am very proud of it.
One of my absolute favorite new (for me) recipes this year that I made several times was Robert Rodriguez legendary Puerco Pibil from Once upon a time in Mexico. It’s SO good. Wanted to try this for over ten years and it didn’t disappoint.
Your recipe for Dalgona coffee was one of my favorites. I also learned from collard valley cook to make southern buttermilk biscuits, and her sweet potato cheesecake. Yummy. Huge hit
Fave recipe i tried this year was a jalapeno popper dip from pinterest....it pleased my picky husband and is now a must at all gatherings and game nights!
Every single Rachel video, be it on this channel or the other, I feel like I'm hanging out with a friend. It's so nice and relaxing and refreshing to watch youtubers actually seem like humans rather than characters. Keep it up!!
I missed out on tomato season this year because I couldn’t visit home for fresh veggies, so I made up for it by learning how to make eggs in purgatory ❤️ While I’d imagine it’d taste even more delicious with garden fresh tommies, it works really well to take any cheap veg you can find and some eggs to make an incredibly quick, hardy meal.
Using toothpicks in the cucumber sub to make thin slices work really well. Just stick them in an inch apart & cut in the between each toothpick. It worked for me but I had sandwich toothpicks which are longer.
One of my favorite recipes and possibly THE one for me in 2020 was Chris's chocolate cake recipe! I don't remember when you posted it but I found it last year and it's phenomenal!
My favorite recipe from 2020 was the apple tart I made for Thanksgiving. It was the easiest pie crust sort of thing I've ever tried to make, and it tasted absolutely wonderful. It was also beautiful.
Number 1 recipe for me was a three ingredient biscuit recipe. Folding the dough several times while rolling them out, then putting them in the freezer for a short time made them the best biscuits I've ever made!
I made homemade tomato soup (like for grilled cheese) for the first time. Omg it’s so easy and 1000x better than canned. I have no clue why nobody told me 😂 and now I make it all the time. Also found an easy lunch. That’s pretty healthy too. It’s feta and Greek yogurt on flatbread with seasonings and baked. It’s a somewhat healthy comfort food. You two are the cutest 💗 goals
Christopher should use his turkey stock & make french onion soup with it! My hubby makes stock when we cook turkey & the turkey french onion soup is AMAZING!
I made red velvet cupcakes for the first time this year (a recipe from Sally’s baking addiction) and they are perfection. Would recommend. They do also freeze well so you can make a batch, and defrost them as you need them.
My favourite recipe I discovered this year was a chickpea pasta from Bon Appetite. It is so good! It is such a comforting dish in the colder months. I love the broth-y sauce. And it is also great as leftovers! I’ve started adding some extra water when I reheat it to make it more broth-y and it’s so good!
Gluten and dairy free lemon drizzle cake with fresh lemons from my friends lemon and orange grove... sooooooo yummy. My family love it so do my neighbors, my parents, my friends etc. I have made at about 10 of them during 2020 plus one for New Year’s day. 🍋😋😋🍋
My best is my salt crusted ham that I finally perfected this year. Very very happy about that. And I'm bringing your channel into 2021 bc you were one of the people I picked up this year to make 2020 bearable and I appreciate you :>.
I learned how to make Scones for my mother's birthday and she loves them so much I have to make them every time I visit her. I'm glad because now I don't have to feel bad bad for always stealing her groceries when leaving (I'm 20 and a uni student btw).
I learned how to make my moms rice and tuna and ice made it twice so good I also perfected my brioche French toast and though I don’t eat it often it’s my favorite breakfast food Also wanted to add my favorite condiment/food is butter. Favorite snack/food is bread (baguettes) so yeag
I learned two new recipes. One much like your Ramen we make at least 2 times a week. Taco Casserole! It is so easy peasy and easy to do. I can not remember where I found it but I adapted it anyways. In 13×9 casserole dish lay down a layer of corn tortillas. In a large pan you mix together 1 pound of ground meat with diced onions, taco seasoning, diced jalapenos, 1/4 taco sauce, 1/4 water. Mix it until it comes together and the water has evaporated out. Once it is cooked put into prepared dish layer on some more tortillas and some cheese on top and cook in a 350 degree oven into cheese is melted. Top with your fave taco toppings and enjoy! The second is corn pudding. It is just a delicious side dish and super super easy to make.
My favorite of 2020 is the egg sandwich thing. The one where you dip you bread in the egg flip the bread over cook the eggs flip everything over then fill... we have that every single Saturday now for breakfast 🤤
My favourite recipe I learned in 2020 is this one pot pasta: brown mince (I use veggie mince) in a BIG pot, chop up a leek and some sweetheart cabbage and throw it in, when it’s soft and sexily browned add orecchiette (any other small pasta works too), add vegetable stock, cover, simmer, salt, pepper, BOOM! Didn’t think I was gonna like it but my friend forced me to make it and it has CHANGED my life. So easy. So quick. So cheap! Make this!
During hatch chile season, I made a great hatch chile cheddar bread. I always bought it from the bakery, but I figured I could try my hand at it, and it was the best thing I made this year.
I don't know how you burn things in the microwave but I do it frequently so I should take notes so I stop it. The Cookie Monster cardigan makes this video even better!
I can’t be the only one who thinks your sweater looks like Cookie Monster. The buttons even look like his crazy eyes 😂
I was literally about to comment the same thing before I saw your comment ....loll
So I am not crazy
so cute
LOL came to say the same thing!
Absolutely my first thought.
The part where rach and chris were in opposite positions and they started mimicking each other and laugh. I almost started crying that was so wholesome and cute!
Is it me or does Rachel's cardigan buttons look like googly eyes looking in different directions? 👀👀👀
Things I now cannot unsee
I thought it looked like Cookie Monster
Omg, I was literally thinking the exact same thing and I thought I was the only one lol
I almost got through the whole video now I can't unsee this
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
the Chris and Rachel editing swap was so funny! haha
I am 10 years old and my fav recipe that I made was a vanilla cake for my parents birthdays.
That’s so sweet of you! Never lose that kindness as you grow!
That's my favorite too!!
Thats beautiful :) I bet your parents thought it was the best cake they've ever had.
Use toothpicks in the cuke sandwich when cutting to hold it together
I was going to sugest the same thing ☺
Psssh, nah. Toothpicks taste terrible. Wrap it in bacon.
I thought to just slice cucumber 🥒 in rounds and make small individual snacks!
Those little mini cucumbers would be great for the sandwich!
@@Zed.TheReaper.McCormick You're not supposed to eat the toothpicks 😂
I feel like i would eat the cucumber sandwich as an open faced sandwich with the sauces on the bottom
You need a mandoline to slice your potatoes. Makes life easier!
Agreed! This is the one I have and it works perfectly for potato chips and it doesn't take up a lot of space! smile.amazon.com/Joie-Mini-Mandoline-Slicer-Colors/dp/B072FKR6J3/ref=sr_1_5_mod_primary_new?crid=I661QDV1XHZX&dchild=1&keywords=joie+mandoline+slicer&qid=1610318053&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=joie+man%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-5
Lol agreed but I think she does not use one is she is too klutzy. She can cut herself with a butter knife.
@@pinkyvdt Anyone prone to cutting themselves should get a cutting glove.
@@auntlynnie and using the proper tool, like a mandolin. Plus you can get one of those guards for slicing on a mandolin and never get hurt again.
@@Skenjin Or a cutting glove. Or both. Some people are accident-prone and some people have shaky hands.
who else wants her to post more on this channel?
I'm not a huge fan of parsley either, so I switch out the parsley for basil and it is so delicious:)
Genius!
That was exactly what I was thinking
I did dill and it was also delicious!
Oregano would work, too.
"Cookies and Ramen" -shirt petition 😍
2 of my favorite foods🤤
Yes!
Only Rachel would wear a sweater looking like Cookie Monster!🍪
While making a gigantic cookie 🙃
“The before times”....that’s what I’m calling it from now on.

my favorite new recipe was Rachel’s mother in law’s reverse chocolate chip cookies!!! they’re are SO GOOD.
Omg add cream Cheese in the scooped out bit of the cucumber. It might stay together in bite size and super tasty
My favorite recipe of 2020 is the Cranberry-Pomegranate mousse pie from the new cookbook of Claire Saffitz. I was very surprise on how much I like it
Okay Rachel, you’ve convinced me to try the cheesy chicken ramen recipe for dinner 😍
Binging with Babish did an episode about one pan mac and cheese. I’ve made it several times since!
Living for the cookie monster sweater!
YAAAAASSSSSSS
I thought the buttons on the sweater were googly eyes and got really excited
The tasty vegan cinnamon roles are SOOOO GOOD, they’re AMAZING
Me the whole time watching: “please. Please. Please. Push up your sleeves!”
Me too😂 I wouldn't be able to stand that

As soon as the video started my first thought was “I need Rachel’s sweater”
Cut the cucumber in slices normally and then stack meat, cheese, sauces and another piece of cucumber ontop🙌🏻
Your reverse chocolate chip cookie recipe was my fave this year! My husband has declared them the best cookies ever made.
Reverse Chocolate Chip Cookies was definitely a keeper.
Rachel, if you love the skillet cookie, you’d love slutty brownies. Cookie dough base, Oreos in the center, brownie batter poured on top and then bake in the oven.
