In the Netherlands we have something like this without the wrap, so basically just a layered dish with shawarma, fries, cheese and garlic sauce. We call it a “kapsalon” (which is weird because that’s the Dutch word for hair salon, idk either 🤷♀️) and it is usually served at Turkish kebab or shawarma places. Veeeery popular meal to order at 4AM after clubbing/going out here, haha
My MIL makes a variation of “Dorito Lasagna” that she calls Dorito Pie. Allegedly it was created when my BIL was running XC in high school and needed to eat a ton of calories. It is just Doritos, chili, and shredded cheese layered like a lasagna. It is so good and the complete opposite of healthy.
Food is definitely a love language of you and Chris both. You get so excited to give Chris the food you make. I adore it! I do the same with my and, Aaron. I know the pure excitement when you show them your food. Keep that adorable stuff up! Love your guys’ love!
I love how long you two have been together and how flirty you always still are together. I've been married 15 years and love that my husband and I still flirt. 💗
I love you and Christopher together! I look forward to when Christopher comes in to taste everything. He provides so much fantastic dry humor and love for you 🙂
Top 10 things I love about this channel: 10) You always show a ‘control’ when you’re trying a new recipe (I love that) 9) The appliances have names! (As they should) 8) The accents, bless the accents 7) Chris. The witty banter, his amazing shirts, love of salt and general overall contribution to testing (and elevating) recipes 6) The Friends references 5) You’re Canadian and us Canadians, are simply awesome 4)You have an amazing personality and a wonderful sense of humour 3) The edits are 🔥 2)You research and try all the recipes, hacks and gadgets I want to try, but never end up trying/doing/buying 1) You’re always consistent. Always guaranteed posts on Saturdays. Always guaranteed laughs. Always guaranteed I learn something new. Sending you and the family so much love from Toronto 💕🇨🇦😘
I want your perfected cookie recipe. The absolute hands down best chocolate chip cookie recipe. My ideal cookie is chewy not crunchy and I prefer them a little thin
Growing up in Western Australia, we would have milk arrowroot cookies (though we call them biscuits) with a smear of butter on them. The biscuits themselves are very plain, not overly sugary /sweet and the type that we also dunk in tea or coffee. But they are super yummy with butter on them!
You should do a video of only eating friends food for a day with dibs (obviously Chris is going to make you eat Rachel's trifle and I can't wait to see that)
I just have to say. Thank you. I'm a private duty nurse and because of health problems, life has been so hard. But watching you and Chris make me smile. And at the moment it's so needed. Prayers that I somehow can get funds to fix my car. And get healthy so I'm able to work again please.
14:18 the background song that's playing rn is a song that was recommended to me like 4 years ago, by an old online friend and this just brings back so many memories.
you should do a video where you do the suggestions you made for previous recipes!! like when you say "This in some other different way would be fantastic" do those things and see if it actually is fantastic!!
For the salad dressing: 3 part olive oil, one part lemon juice. One teaspoon of mustard, one teaspoon of sugar. Little bit of salt, and then whisk it up. I usually pour it on top of salad(leaves of your choice), tomatos and cucumber. Delish. I eat it all the time
That salad looks delicious... I think I would try it with Dijon mustard & maybe ad little more than you originally put in it? Also, I just happen to really love Dijon mustard 😃 ... and now I really want the recipe for Chris’ Burrito Bowl! 😜
You just inspired me to what to make for dinner! I made naan from scratch and we had some mediterranean marinated chicken that we pan-fried and it was absolutely delicious!
That salad was the reason people don’t think salads are good. Salads can be amazing. Beans, roasted veggies, pickled veggies, pico, homemade salsa or chutney, fruit, nuts, seeds, you can put anything in a salad and make it amazing and something to look forward to.
Just a suggestion, since you like ramen so much: Mark Tuan has a very viral ramen recipe in Asia that recently blew up in the US because of the Buzzfeed ramen vid 👀
I will say for the baked chicken shawarma/gyro, they do actually put fries into them in Greece. Even in the non-touristy, local islands they will do that. Kind of interesting and super tasty fun fact 😋
I love your videos!! The one with the fries is basically chicken gyros with extra garlic and green staff. Try to cook some pork seasoned, cut it in small pieces. The more fat the pork have Te better. Put the bread first then tzatziki, then the pork, then fries, fresh cut onion (it's better is you have sweet onions), some tomato and a little bit of paprika on top. You can also do this with chicken.
My salad dressing is alwats lemon juice, dijon mustard and olive olive but more olive oil that lemon juice. Lacking in salad though do much carrot drop that add some more stuff instead. I feel like that casserole would be nice with layers of salsa as well, enchilada vibes
Your husband made the video 😂😂 his attitude is perfect 😂😂 let's get this over with, it's a collection of vegetables in a bowl nothing special about that 🙈😂😂
On the topic of dressings, my favorite has always been a "sweet and sour" type of dressing - a teaspoon of dijon mustard (also tried it with honey mustard), a teaspoon of honey, salt and pepper (to your preferences), about 1/8-1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar and 3x the amount of olive oil (yes, i like my salads dripping of dressings :D). I usually mix that in with green salad, cucumbers and fresh green onion. Sometimes i'd add a can of sweet corn and a can of tuna if i feel like it :) Try it out, you might like it! You can adjust the amounts of oil and vinegar if you like your salads with less dressing
I must tell you I have to drive to a town over for those damn hint of queso chips I am OBSESSED! I always buy atleast 4 bags and hide them in my closet. All your fault lol
Christopher: my palette is not as refined
Also christoper: *always seems to know exactly what’s missing in a dish*
That’s exactly what I thought
no offence, but he said his palette is not refined in cookies as rachel's is coz rachel love love love loves cookies so she knows more about it..
So right I mean every video Chris knows what to put in
“What do we do here? We’re an essential service” lines by Chris had me DYING. Thank you both for doing this! :)
Chris’s one liners are always so funny!
That was so funny lol
I live for Chris comments lol
Omg I died when he sais essential service 😂😂 I was laughing alone in bed 😂😂👌🏻
It was the “kindly keep watching” for me. 🤣🤣🤣
This is literally my favourite channel! The kitchen, Chris’ input and Rachel’s personality really just make this channel superior
They truly have amazing personalities!
“This is my salad bowl.”
That’s a salad trough lol
More like cauldron 😂😂😂
Well I guess they like salad...🙂😁😄
Fries are traditionally put in gyros in Greece! That is how I always have mine since I studied abroad there many years ago.
I love fries in gyro
That's what I thought, too. That dish is a Gyros Pita. 😂
Traditionally Made with pork though .... it’s better !!
@@katherinepitt2216 not really it's chicken and beef
@@katherinepitt2216 actually it is lamb but if cooked in the right spices I will take all of the above! 😂
Adding fries to shawarma is actually how a lot of street vendors in the Middle East serve it. I DIEEE for them!! ❤️❤️
Yes, it's a Levante classic. :)

Actually I never had a shawarma without fries.
its been nearly 20 years since i had shawarma in saudi arabia and i crave it every day. truly next level T.T
@@LunaVespertine In Germany it is called PommDöner. :)
I am totally obsessed with the two of you together-the humor y'all create together is impeccable!
You ARE an essential service 😁 we need more of the Rachel/Chris banter

That transition with the clap guuuuuurll, always impressed!
“I like salad!”
* Grabs 5 gallon bucket *
That “salad bowl” is a more like a witches cauldron...
@@englishatheart you must be really bored

I was waiting for the pepper grinder to appear and was so excited when it finally did lol
I love how long you two have been together and how flirty you always still are together. I've been married 15 years and love that my husband and I still flirt. 💗
The cookie taste reminded me of New Girl. “You gave me cookie, I got you cookie. Gave me cookie, got you cookie, man”
Anyone else just absolutely LOVE they way Rachel says cookie/cookies
So stinking cute !!
😻
please try Taylor’s cookie recipe! I always wanted to try it but I don’t how it turns out!!
I think she did in previous part of this series.
If u r talking about chai cookies
Can we all just appreciate how thoughtful and caring her husband is 😍♥️
Yes, I noticed that too so sweet!
You should make a video of trying to make all the impulsive recipes you come up within the middle of your videos, i.e Doritos crusted chicken.
Agreed!!!
Doritos crusted chicken is ok, but Cheese It Chicken is so much better!!
@@chelseam7407 yes!! Cheeze it chicken is the best!
Yessss
Me nodding along when Rachel is talking about evenly dispersing the salad dressing knowing I drown mine in ranch 🥺
Kay, I NEED that salad bowl like, yesterday.
Rachel please try some indian recipes, I'm sure you would love the spice and flavour
Would love to see you try the dishes. 💐
I love you and Christopher together! I look forward to when Christopher comes in to taste everything. He provides so much fantastic dry humor and love for you 🙂

Chris seems sassy in this episode 😁
Love what you do ❤️
I 100% need this salad bowl in my life.
Honestly these videos are simply the most soothing, wonderful food/lifestyle videos on YT
Lol I missed seeing Rachel naming her appliances ❤️❤️😂
I want your perfected cookie recipe. The absolute hands down best chocolate chip cookie recipe.
My ideal cookie is chewy not crunchy and I prefer them a little thin
Your channel was on my recommended page and I am so so glad
That doritos casserole reminds me of those depression meal tiktoks😅😅😅😅

I love how Chris always adds seasoning or sauce to their bowls. He is lookin out.
I’m glad you quoted Friends there, because that’s exactly where my mind went! 😆
Thanks to you my and my bf are OBSESSED with the Hint of Queso Tostitos!!

Love starting Saturday mornings with Rachel 😊

I'm now so hungry! Ready to try some of these out. Huge love from Australia 🐨

It's so much fun to watch u cook and critique, Rachel.

your top makes me more excited about the FRIENDS Reunion. 😍😍
Christopher and Rachel deserve a cooking show! I said it, it's out in the universe.... Food Network or Cooking Channel, I've found your new stars.
9:40 in Chris claps with "let's get this over with" and sarcastic "mmmm" for that salad 😂😂😂😂 nah fam. This is me. Chris is me.
In Israel all shawarma or felafel is served with fries in it I personally love them (shawarma) in a baguette…. Techina on it makes it the best
4:47 think this might be the best transition I’ve ever seen 🤯😂
Ahhhh I'm acc early for onceeee. Also I love that u quotes friends so perfectly too😂😂😂

You need to come to Pittsburgh and try primantis! Fries and coleslaw on all sandwiches 😍
i want to try the shwarma recipe, what spices did you use :)
So as I.
Here in Texas we call the 1st one King Ranch Casserole. I use cool ranch Doritos, olives, and salsa. It's awesome!
That salad needs chickpeas and sunflower seeds for texture! Sounds like my favorite lemon chicken salad but not as good haha
Yum!! I definitely need to try Bella's recipe!
The salad bowl looks like a cauldron lol. Gives me Halloween vibes haha
YOU LOOK GORGEOUSSSSS
