Always a treat when the two of you do a video together. Wife is going to kill me but the blue one Deakon is playing needs to be in my collection. Great review as always. Thanks guys!
Hey Max! Thanks for the great video. I actually purchased a Fusion Pro last year and it is a very nice guitar. I did change the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio Tone Zone. I left the neck and middle , although the middle sounds thin by itself. But as you said the specs speak for themselves. Great guitar for the money.
I ordered today my HB Fusion II HH FR and is already shipped and I will get it tomorrow because I am living in Germany but Thomann is known for fast and reliable service. Now I have to learn how to play... is hopefully not too late with 51. Thx for the nice presentation 👍
Hey Max, you and Deakon need to do an actual video with the full band running those guitars through your stage gear to show just how they stack up to your pro-gear that you use for recording and making your official videos. Do two takes of the same song with the band using your pro-gear and then the Harley Benton stuff and run a side by side comparison so people can see just how they stack up. I think it would be a cool project at some point and would really let people know the value that they are getting should they invest in one of these. Just a thought I had after viewing some of the videos on Deakon's channel. I think that if you both want to grow your channels more collaborative videos on each channel will definitely give you both a push in that direction because wow, yeah you guys are awesome together. Great stuff and tell Deakon to say thank you he gained a new sub from this video! Thanks, guys!
Hi Max, I would like to thank you for the review of the Wolf WLP Guitar you did about 5 or 6months ago cause I pre -ordered the WLP 750T in a transparent red. Ps. I can't wait to get it. Thanks.
Harley Benton recently raised shipping prices, shipping to USA is now $48.30 approx. Still a good value especially if you can get multiple guitars at once.
Hey @some1fat I have the same Harley Benton - got a B-stock for 300euro and after adjusting the badly setup Floyd it's great , but the Floyd is still not 100% to my liking - which of the tremol-no did you install and was it difficult to install and most important do you think it's worth it? Greetings from Belgium - and keep on rocking
People always say change out the pickups but I think the newer Roswell pickups are fantastic definitely on par with my favourite iron gear pickups! HB are knocking it out the park in 2020
I have one of the Fusion II. it is really nice. Max did not mention the heel, where the neck - body meet is tapered really a nice feature, and 24 frets, truss rod adjustment up at the 24 fret. Clean tones so-so? I am undecided about the pickups, but overall Thomann was shooting for a low priced Guthrie Govan, Charvel model, thanks Max
The blue one is slightly lesser price than the Warmoth Roasted Flame Maple Neck that i ordered that had NICKEL frets!! Just the neck! Value through the roof! 🤯
Hey think you could do a review. Ibanez vs. Cort vs. an hss Strat. Or just a review of a Cort guitar. I know you like harley Bentons a lot so I think you would like Cort guitars ( also very affordable) they don’t get a ton of reviews.
Thx, to both of you, it's a pleasure to hear you, amazing players. Do the Headstocks differ in colour? The one you played Maxwell seems to be a bit yellow?👍👏
Roswell pickups are no inhouse brand - you can buy them in different places and they were on the market long before Harley Benton guitars switched from Wilkinson pickups to Roswell.
I got the Harley Benton Fusion Pro 2, not the blue one unfortunately, different colour, but the exact same configuration. It came knocked about, with bent pickup selector switch, a scratch on the back, a crack in the veneer and a black felt tip pen mark on the fretboard. The neck itself (although roasted maple) looked chalky white. In all the videos I have seen, it is like a gorgeous rich brown, well this certainly wasn't and even after a good oiling still looks light. I managed to sort the other things out of course, and I doubt it left the factory with many of these issues, just expect to do a bit of work. My main criticism is there isn't much of a variety between tones when you select the pickups. My ibanez jem sounds completely different from one pickup to the next, the Harley Benton differences in tones is very very subtle. Other than that a great guitar and will eventually buy a back up.it is great for jazz fusion and funk and even super fast harmonic minor licks as the neck radius really lends itself to alternate picking.
Stuee your kidding? Sorry to hear that. I was lucky then with mine. Plan to put some Suhr ssv ssh pickups in mine as I think the Guitar itself is worthy of them
What i dont understand is why this guitar is cheaper for the US then it is in Europe. The HSH Roasted (blue one) is 335 euro on the page in the video, and when i look it up its 399,- odly enough the other one is also 399
I know I've put down Harley Benton guitars down too much in the pass. I actually like these 2 guitars you 2 were playing. I also like that both these guitars have stainless steel frets. The prices are reasonable, but hate the fact they ship from Germany. Now I do not plan to buy another guitar. I'm happy with the 2 guitars I have now. But sometimes I like to research to see whats in the market.
i got the Harley Benton R456 Progressive Series for 149€ with a floyd rose special, ofc. it’s not the best quality, but look at other brand selling 1000€+ guitars with the same FR Special ... just impressed with HB
Basically just a few upgrades and bug fixes. The main one being to lose the string retainer bar on the mark 1 (which was a disaster) and replacing it with staggered locking tuners, which work great with the Wilkinson trem and are a huge improvement.
I like Max, always have and I wish him well in all his endeavors. And I don't mean to slam him, but rather offer constructive criticism. But man, you hit it on the nose - something about how Max dials in or prefers his high gain tones does sound overly brittle and buzz-sawy. He needs to dial back the high end and sweeten things up on the mids. The difference is quite apparent here with Deacon's tone - equally high gain, but far less grating on the ear. As for the HBs, they really can be incredible value guitars for the money - I own two HB models and am delighted, those guitars fitting in nicely with my multiple MIJ Ibanez JS and S series guitars, my PRS, my Suhr HSS superstrat and a few others. Are HB guitars the greatest guitars ever? Don't be ridiculous. But for the price, they certainly punch well above their weight. Be aware that as with all mass produced, lower-priced guitars, QC can be up and down - I got very lucky with both of mine as they were literally perfect out of the box. So you need to temper your expectations. Good news is that Thomann offers world class customer service - any and all problems you may have will be taken care of with no hassles at all. Great axes for the money and in many HB guitars, even compared to guitars costing 2-3X as much. Cheers and stay safe!
@Joe Satchton Yep, Joe is on to something here... Max is an experienced player and the channel is great, though the dialled-in tones are consistently mid-dipped and hark back to the eighties which is Imo only so successful cause the end result is... 80‘s mid-dipped shred metal

The Blackstar amp may be trebled up taking away some of the more chuggy tones on the lowend, but if not the electronics can always be EQ'd or Switched out in the guitar if you are wanting more low end & chug. It could just be your media devise causing the trebled up tones on the low end. I know my laptop does this because I do not have my media devise running to an output that has a wider tonal EQ-able tonal range in the low end range of the tonal mix. I got various cabs and heads and also modeling types, so I am set for playing just about any Guitar type and features and electronics. I believe that G-Max plays through vintage 30 Celestions as being his speakers favorite choice in tone, as he he said in another post thread of his. I would like the HH NAT or the HSH in the Blue withe the locking tuners and the Wilkinson Tremolo rather than the Floyd Rose Tremolo. I gotta go check out this line of guitars. I really like the AIO brand Tele as well. So much gear, not enough time and space to house and play all the great gear out there over the years, the years when all you could afford were strings and pawn shop specials to mod up. I still do that with gear for myself and others. I just bought a Schecter Exotic and a Schecter C1 Platinum EMG 81/85 pups in the Blue Satin and already got other gear picked out but will wait on some bargain promos and pricings here & there. Well I have been playing the crap out of superstrat for 30 years (Ibanez jem) that I got by swapping a 1978 fender strat. So that's where the vintage strat is. Out the door.
Harley benton guitars are cheap. Because they glue lots of pieces of wood to make a guitar. If I'm not mistake. Those guitars are at least 3 piece wood body. Sometimes poorly glued. It's quality wood. But probably the scraps of other brand guitars. That they glue together. About the electronics, it's ok electronics made in China. It is what it is. It's good value for money . But no way, are professional guitars.
I don't know if Max is a guitarist, a shampoo advertiser, or a bodybuilder.
all of the above i guess, i just hope his hairline doesn't recede too much xD

Harley benton guitars are cheap. Because they glue lots of pieces of wood to make a guitar. If I'm not mistake. Those guitars are at least 3 piece wood body. Sometimes poorly glued. It's quality wood. But probably the scraps of other brand guitars. That they glue together. About the electronics, it's ok electronics made in China. It is what it is. It's good value for money . But no way, are professional guitars.
Looks like a modern version of Les Paul And Mary Ford...lol
Low budget Petrucci
