Ha ha ha, well said my friend. I have only two and i am working on a third. After Eddie died i am obsessed with playing again. At 49 i put it off for way too long. Time is precious and short and i am not wasting any more of it.
I've been amazed at how great the Squier and D'Angelico guitars being made in Indonesia are, but the ones that have *REALLY* knocked me out lately are the Firefly guitars coming out of China. So far I have the 3-pickup Les Paul with the much improved wiring setup ($199,) the semihollow Tele Thinline ($149) which they seem to have stopped making, and their 338 model ($169,) which is basically an ES-335TD - style guitar, and the QC, fit, and finish are amazing! Just before getting those, I bought the Epiphone LTD Koa for $549 and had to level the frets (6 of them were too high,) and file off the fret ends before being able to even begin the setup. All three Firefly guitars arrived perfect, and only the Tele needed more than one string intonated. The Tele and Les Paul needed very slight string height adjustments, and the 338 only needed ½ turn of the bridge pins to be not only perfect, but super low, the way I prefer...and all three together cost less than the one Epiphone. I'm going to try something from Harley Benton next. Today's less expensive guitars truly are excellent, and in many cases much better than guitars costing several times as much!
@@jamesthe-doctor8981 Indonesia has every bit skilled people. One of my best is a squire from them and put a maple neck on it from MIM. Incredible guitar.
Right on, Max! I love your channel and your guitars. Back in the '80s, I had something like 100 guitars and 30 amps. Like you, I decided that I had too many, so I sold off a large portion of my gear. I ended up keeping 33 guitars and just 19 amps. Sadly, all of my gear was stolen in 1993, and for the following 23 years I never touched a guitar. Finally in 2016, I got back into the game and I now have 8 very expensive guitars and 5 amps. I think that is probably enough for an older guy like me. I would happily trade all of my stuff for a little bit of your amazing talent. Stay strong, brother, and happy new year!

I also have about 25 guitars now, but that Schecter Banshee GT is now my go to guitar. I love it so much I bought 2 more. Even more I love my HM strat feel but not the tone. I swapped out the pickups for EMG's after falling in love with them from the Schecter and have never been happier.

That scalloped fret board is interesting and the Halo looks awesome. I have the Amber Wolf and like you said, it just plays so great, plus it looks pretty bad ass too.
You know, you are very gifted, and you share your gift with us. Me, I am a 63 year old garage band song writer who cannot read nor write music. I suck at guitar, Mando, piano Mando-cello, etc. but over the years, I have been able to squeeze out enough simple chord changes to put a melody to and eek out some songs. My band is called the Poor Nephews and you can hear some of our stuff on Reverb Nation if you wish. Upon your advice I brought a red Wolf LP guitar and I was blown away with it. Years ago I made my own Electric guitar I call the "EC*/ the last wonder of the world." My daughter Sophie age 4-5 back then helped decorate it. Its a weird shape, has a cheap maple neck, a P100, P90 and a single coil with three vol knobs and no tone controls. Tone is wide open, you just dial in what you want. It sounds better than I thought it would and looks crazy. Sometime maybe you should have a contest with your fans to send in vids of their creations to share what they made, and the winner can showcase his/her guitar by sending it to you to shred on as an example of someone's creativity. You don't have to limit it to guitars either. Its. just a thought. If it were not for my love of music and the creative process, I would be dead. Music is the only thing that has kept me going along with people like you who encourage the world to pick up an axe and play....it is the single most rewarding experience anyone can engage in. I also bought a couple Revelation guitars made by Wilkenson in England. Check them out. They had made a copy of the LP Recording guitar with the Low Impedence Pickups that sounded great but the stopped making them. Namaste... Eddie Case
I love watching things like this, but makes me sad at see time. had to sell all my gear few years back to help pay for my daughter's surgery...while I miss my stuff, would do it all again if I had to, to make her better. but great video as usual
Max, hi from Ireland. The Schecter is my favourite of your axes. I have 12 guitars and my wife says I have a problem, so I told her about you...so I'm good for at least another 5-6 I think! Bought a Burny RLC60P recently, blown away by it. I know you reviewed one with a floyd a few yrs back.
I'm not big on strats it's a stupid issue (i have trouble not bumping the volume while playing) but that said there is something so incredibly sexy about that halo! I'm also a little surprised that shecter beat out the super shreader frs.. I just really think the sun valley frs pick ups sound pretty amazing
Max your collection is making me even more excited than when I got my 69 charger and I have just bought some parts for harley benton les Paul and I painted my own guitar so let's hope your channel inspires the new generation like you inspired me to be guitar collector
Mate, it's only considered hoarding if you have more guitars than your age. You're looking pretty good for 60! I haven't done a count lately, but I think I'm not far off that amount as well.
@@emilyspector2728 yo Emily, I started out with guitars that had thicker necks, so between the two I prefer schecter. But if you’d rather have a thinner neck Ibanez guitars will usually have that for you. There are also a lot of solid Ibanez models that are super affordable so that’s a point for them. When the pandemics over try both brands at a music store and see which one feels better!
❤Great collection. Owning 60 guitars, amps, studio, e.t.c is like a dream come true, I have a 150$ worn down cheap start with really bad bridge and intonation and a cheap amp . I wouldn't ask for more but that Harley benton is BANG!! . Happy New Year.
Happy New Year, Max!!! Thanks for making 2020 bearable. I loved seeing these guitars, hearing your descriptions on them, and then hearing how they sounded over the backing track. You have me wanting to get the Harley Benton Fusion 2, now. I'm feeling guilty though, and I only have 9 guitars!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Gotta say I love my HM Strat as well, and I'm not a shredder. I just love the monster neck and heavy tone. All of these are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I have exactly 58 guitars and on average I play about 4 total and 1 often. I do occasionally play the others depending on the phase I'm in. My Les Paul Standard is my go to but the whole reason I have all of them is because I'll go through periods when I'm into BC Rich, Jackson, Fender, PRS etc... but I always come back to my Gibson Standard, The Hawk, and the Explorer.
I've only 2 guitars. 10 years ago I inherited a big guitar collection, about 15-16 guitars. I sold them all and bought an ESP Ouija Natural (Kirk Hammett, limited to 25 pieces) and an Ibanez Iceman DMM1 (Daron Malakian, limited to 300 pieces). It isn't a too big collection, but I think I have really professional, quality and rare guitars.
The last guitar I didn't like the sound of for the first few seconds of play. But then when you started goin', I was like; "Wow! That's beautiful! I judged this one way too fast!" It's got a beautiful sound! And I could hear that even watching it on my phone! 😊
I’ve got 5, a Schecter Hellraiser FR, Kramer Barretta Special, ESP LTD MH-327, Hagstrom Super Swede and kit Strat which sounds killer. I may get a cheap Tele I saw on Amazon but I’m good the way it is. These cover all tones one may need.
Can we all agree that harley benton fusion pro 2 is the guitar of the decade!? I mean the spec and the price is unprecedented. And the regular maple neck with floyd costs 100 dollar less
Hey max your show is cool I mean who wouldn't love a program that is mainly based on or about guitars and giving your audience real unbiased advice on these lower priced guitars that is information that is priceless and because in my life I play a lot of guitar and I wouldn't know anything about these great affordable guitars if not for you test driving each one and giving your expert opinion appreciated peace
Nice video, I'd like to see you go through all your guitars and talk about/let us see each one, even if it's only just a quick, 5-10second review of each.
I’ve got 11 guitars and I’m a drummer! Seriously though, one of those 11 is a Wolf LPS from All In One Guitars and it also is one of my go-to guitars. That thing just came ready to play and is beautiful at the same time. I like that not a single, big manufacturer made your list! It does show how just how far guitar making has come. That Harley Benton roasted maple has also been on my list! That will probably be my next one. When will the madness end?!
lol, I also have 11 and drums were my first instrument. I say that drummers make the best guitar players. If you have the rhythm, u just use it on the fretboard...ha -cheers mate
The choices they have nowadays are amazing! In the '60s and seventies there weren't that many choices. Beautiful choices nowadays! Rock on son! And thank you sir!
I have 22 electrics and 3 acoustics. I play 4 on the regular. Sometimes I feel like I need to scale down and ask myself why I need so many...I think it's a childhood thing. Growing up broke and not getting the things other kids got, not I'm pretty well off and get whatever I want. I'm thinking of buying another one...
You're f'n awesome sir, I keep coming back to your vids for suggestions and reviews, plus awesome cheap gear reviews but also to get a look at the awesome guitars you own. I currently own just 4 guitars I love to death, but I have so many in my own bucketlist. Hope to meet ya on the road some day so we can share some guitar stories and you can get to check out some of my band's nasty tunes n riffs. Big ups from Portugal!!
I bought a Stratocaster in 1983 & Scalloped it cuz Ritchie Blackmore was my teenage hero. I have a difficult time playing something that isn't scalloped to this day
I clicked just to see if/when Schecter would be mentioned. I was not disappointed. Schecter is the only reason I picked up a guitar again after years of disinterest.
I have had a gibson les paul, Westone flying v and a few gibson sgs! Schecter is just a well made quality guitar! That kicks ass! And the price is just iceing on the cake!
@@Og.AlkoRL bought one of those a couple of weeks ago. Really fantastic guitar! Great craftsmanship but the best thing is it has perfect resonance- enough to keep you inspired but not too much that it runs away from you. Get hold of one if you can!
I have a Wolf LP and it's really beautiful. Everyone who plays asks if I want to sell it..nah. Cherry burst with MOP binding and knobs. It was a show guitar for NAMM and Texas guitar show. I got lucky and beat my friend by 10 minutes. Happy New Years !
Thank you man! Your philosophy regarding expensive guitars is VERY Rock N' Roll. I've become a little jaded lately because I see a lot of people either buying a $20,000 guitar to hang on their wall (don't get me wrong, guitars CAN be art, but they shouldn't be wall hangers) or they will only play their Gibson "Greeny" because "Haha, you will never get this, you will never get this!" The one thing that it seems all famous/talented guitarists have in common is that they started with a $100 guitar that they put blood, sweat, and tears into (and some nicer pickups and maybe a fretjob) and that was enough for them. So you highlighting guitars of all price ranges speaks to your character. You can tell that you appreciate a nice guitar, but you don't let that distract from the fact that ultimately they are tools. The tools with which we craft our music. Thanks again for being such a stand-up, kick-ass guy (and incredibly talented guitarist/entertainer).
I wanna see all 60 guitars. That would be awesome. 🦅

Thank you for proving that some heroes don't need capes. A+, my friend and I hope your daughter is well.
I love the HM Strat. I always wanted one back when they first came out.
60? Wow. I thought I had a lot at 14 myself. I love the wine colored Wolf and the yellow super Strat! Happy New Year Max.
I also have around 14 🎸s I think that's a pretty reasonable amount to have, though my Wife might disagree😋
Great video. I have the Schecter E1fantastic guitar. Tuned it once :)
Man I thought my 11 was too many. Schecter all day everyday
Five of my 13 total instruments are Schecters. Love 'em.
So would you recommend a Schecter or an Ibanez so I can play songs from Ghost, Lordi, etc?
@@emilyspector2728 yo Emily, I started out with guitars that had thicker necks, so between the two I prefer schecter. But if you’d rather have a thinner neck Ibanez guitars will usually have that for you.
There are also a lot of solid Ibanez models that are super affordable so that’s a point for them. When the pandemics over try both brands at a music store and see which one feels better!
@@emilyspector2728 hit me up on this comment when you have miasma by ghost down!
I appreciate your optimistic style of shred .
I try!
i believe you could put strings on a snow shovel and this dude can make sound amazing
That Red Burst Wolf is awesome, I love the abalone highlights they really set it off.
Contest idea: “Impress my Wife with your Chops”. (Because have we even met your wife yet?)
She has a UA-cam channel.
I understand your love of guitars I am currently own 210. Might be time to thin down the heard, lol
@@mwpv11 - AHAHAHAAAAA!!! “The heard”! I see what you did there!!
Thanks to you Max I hunkered down and tracked down a 2006 prestige s series for a steal. I completely forgot about that guitar till your vid. Thanks!
The first step to healing is admitting you have a problem. Just got rid of about a dozen over the last few months and I'm down to about 20.
I think that’s fantastic. I had about 8-9 guitars but sold them all to get a Gibson Les Paul Studio. I love that guitar.
The last guitar I didn't like the sound of for the first few seconds of play. But then when you started goin', I was like; "Wow! That's beautiful! I judged this one way too fast!" It's got a beautiful sound! And I could hear that even watching it on my phone! 😊
I have 15 and my wife says I have a problem.. maybe I should have her watch this.. then maybe she'll realize 15 isn't really a problem...or is it?
Collect what you love Max!
Thanks for the add! You have me sold on that Schecter
I only own 3 guitars and they are not high-end or high quality just 1 squier and 2 epiphone. Happy 2021!
Thank YOU, for showing these paterns on the Wulf guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The one guitar you've never reviewed is the Washburn Paralaxe. One of the most versatile inexpensive guitars made. Definitely shreddy 80s.
Highly underrated.
Nice video, I'd like to see you go through all your guitars and talk about/let us see each one, even if it's only just a quick, 5-10second review of each.
i dont even own a guitar but i love this guys videos they are awesome
Love the scalloped fret board like Yngwie, always wondered how that would play! Must feel like wearing a glove!
Fender hm strat was on the list
Awesome Video!!! Love the fact that the price has nothing to do with you love for them. That Halo is sick
I'm a sucker for purple guitars.
Can’t blame you man, purple is the best color
Yeah... that Purple Guitar is just beautiful!
I'm waiting on the new purple tiger epiphone exturas. A purple burst explorer? Oh yes..
Bunch of fairies over here. Jk...I’d be lying if I said that I’d didn’t have my eye on the LTD EC-256 in purple for a long time now 😂
The choices they have nowadays are amazing!
Man i feel exactly the same, its nice when things turn around 👍
It's starts to become an issue trying to store them - I just build another shed when I run out of room!
OMG and my friends thought I had a problem.
I bought a Stratocaster in 1983 & Scalloped it cuz Ritchie Blackmore was my teenage hero. I have a difficult time playing something that isn't scalloped to this day
I realized just now that you have the keys to the Lamborghini!!
Dude the moment I saw it I thought the same thing and read this comment right after!
I clicked just to see if/when Schecter would be mentioned.
I was not disappointed. Schecter is the only reason I picked up a guitar again after years of disinterest.
You’ve really piqued my curiosity with your Fender HM Strat and the Harley Benton Fusion.
I doubt he will give his top 6 away.
You must buy strings by the busload!!! Happy new year Mad Max!!!
Schecter Schecter Schecter Schecter Schecter and another SCHECTER!!!!!
Can't go wrong with Schector, very good out of the box.
Hoping to have a C1 SLS Elite here soon with a floyd. Such a pretty guitar
Those schecter EX's are awesome guitars, not just for the money, all around awesome guitars.
This dude looks like John Cena if he went down the guitar player path
If only we knew what John Cena looked like
the pick up in the Faletti sound really good!
that's a single space humbucker and it sounds full
Next video should be 6 guitars you never play.
You're not a Maxwell Carlisle fan unless you watched his life lesson while building that there b-17.
Facts.
Love the flame maple and abalone binding on the wolf guitar.
You can never have too many guitars!
All are so sick! ..I've never seen the scalloped frets before, must feel so cool to play.
How many guitars does a guitar player need? JUST ONE MORE! honestly though to this drummer’s ears they kinda sounded the same to me.
Yep...he sounds the very same with all of'em
Thanks for the review. I actually purchased the new Fender HM Strat after watching your full review video. Super fun to play!!!
One song, ten minutes, all 60 guitars at 10 seconds each? 🤔😂🔥🔥🔥
