THIS VIDEO IS THE EXACT INFORMATION I WAS LOOKING FOR, thank you so much! I collect quartz all the time, sometimes daily, but I cannot identify them, please make more quartz videos for identifying them, thank you! Sending good wishes your way 💖
I’m drawn to quartz as well! I love the array and colors. It’s versatile and so very very soothing to my soul. I am obsessed and I’m glad to know I am not alone in my love for it.
I agree about quartz. I go beach combing a lot near my home in Cumbria North West England along the Solway Firth coast. I pick stones and glass for making jewellery. I definitely see quartz the most, soothing yellow amber type colours. So beautiful and calming and smooth. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I never knew about the Sun block trick! Great tip!
Hi my dia Dr.beachcomb I'm from Somali in east Africa so is have so many like this stone if need contect me with this email. maadey090@gmail.com Thanks
I admire your lovely collection there! :) Thanks for making this video. It was exactly what I was looking for. Happy hunting and greetings from Seattle :)
ahhh the PNW - you are in beautiful stone combing county! from Ocean Shores/Damon Point to Ruby Beach, the San Juan’s and Whitney! what a glorious array of rocks/glacial til you have there!
Went gem and quartz hunting at a beach on LI today, found so many rose quartz’s, and a tigers eye, a lot of jasper (I MEAN A LOT) also a purple stone which I think is amethyst , what might be a turquoise , and lemon quartz’s
I live a mile from the Chesapeake Bay- grew up in Virginia beach and I have been collecting beach stones for years I've collected so many. I have only found 1 rose quartz, but have you ever tried tumbling the stones?
Thank you for this video! I live on Long Island and recently began combing beaches (mainly in the Peconic region and south shore) for stones. It's been very confusing because, as you pointed out in this video, the rocks you find out here are very large and so rounded out by the water I've been confused as to what I've been finding!
Many of the quartz in the opening shot on the right are from Long island. I love, love the quartz eggs I find there. They are so smooth and well-rounded in gorgeous hues.
I live in UK I found a smooth bright orange crystal like stone It's about foggy but one I put it in water it becomes much clearer I cracked it in half to see what looked like definitely crystal of some sort but just trying to learn more about these stone as I've become more and more fascinated by them
@@dr.beachcomb4221 no it's not glass I've got a piece of beech glass but this orange stone I have is definitely crystal just don't know which type found it on the beach in Bridlington up north part just by the cliffs
I use olive or peanut oil to condition my stones after washing with a toothbrush and liquid dish soap. They come out wonderfully! What say you? Thanks for this informative video. I am a quartz stone collector and i have found these types from deep digs by local areas doing road work ( lots of water underground! )
In my country I only found 2 rose quartz they are indeed hard to find I find the stones in the beach (I live in Kuwait btw) I'm a new subscriber too ❤️
I have some similar stones that light bright orange or lava orange and some light yellow under flashlight I love they are absolutely mesmerizing I can't identify what they are tho
Translation: I also really admire her lovely collection. I was born in Moldova, and my grandmother was from Belorussia. I would love to see the beach stones over there. Happy collecting to you! :)
Tons of stones we find on beaches are quartz - carnelian, jasper, adventurine...(google ‘stones that are quartz’ - you’ll be amazed) - and yes, the black stones you find could be quartz-based - maybe heliotrope or rutile.
My hobby is collecting gemstones on land and mountains and I hope to live in Europe in order to achieve my dream of searching for and caring for stones.
When I was young, I love to collect little semi-transparent stones on sand dunes in nearby factories, and I thought they looked like jades, and they must be valuable, so I could be wealthy overnight.

Glad it was helpful!
When I was little I use to collect these kind of rocks on the beach with my grandma I miss finding collecting them with my grandma and I miss her ❤️

Far from alone…I can’t tell you how many beachcombers I know that actively seek out quartz stones…
@@dr.beachcomb4221 Is quartz expensive?
Lovely quartz! Thanks for sharing!

I love to know other beachcombers appreciate quartz, too. so many take it for granted.
I love Quartz...it’s so prolific on our local beach at Berwick Upon Tweed.

You have great beaches for stone combing!

Quartz will polish up beautifully in a tumbler. I just don’t like it as much that way. Too shiny for me!
Beautiful stones and useful video. Can these pebbles also be classified as flints?
no I don’t believe so. maybe Google.
Thank you for this video!

so it was glass, not amber ?

This is fascinating. Thank you!
Mineral oil (like baby oil) will work on the stones without the zinc oxide that gums up the holes.
Yes, you are absolutely right! Zinc oxide only works well on hard, smooth stones that are not pitted or rough.

You know, I just say whatever works that makes you happy. I am just a lazy gal so a quick bit of zinc oxide and I am good to go...
Mam ,i have the same collection !! I'm so happy .thanks for sharing.
yes, we love our quartz!

Interesting! So are the beaches natural there or is the sand shipped in or sprayed onto the shore from the ocean floor?
Dr.Beachcomb you can see them on the sand it's really fun to pick them up and keep them to your self! :)
I have never been to your region of the world. It be interesting to know what things you do find in your beaches...
I have some similar stones that light bright orange or lava orange and some light yellow under flashlight I love they are absolutely mesmerizing I can't identify what they are tho
Peace, I collect so many beautiful stones at sandy hook n have no clue what they are ✌🏻💨 thanks for the knowledge
Welcome!
Какая великолепная у вас коллекция!!! Очень люблю камни и по хорошему завидую вам. Дай Бог вам здоровья и всех благ. Привет из Беларуси.

I would, too!
So beautiful!!! Can you tell me are there black quartz stones? I think I found one today.
Tons of stones we find on beaches are quartz - carnelian, jasper, adventurine...(google ‘stones that are quartz’ - you’ll be amazed) - and yes, the black stones you find could be quartz-based - maybe heliotrope or rutile.
Now I know why I always bring rocks home from the beach
Yes, there is something about a good rock you just can't shake...!
My quartz ran away from me. Still waiting for it to turn up one day. I loved my clear quartz. I miss it.
I do love your collection.
oh thank you - 5 decades of combing and culling. quartz never fails to cheer me up or calm me down.
Is there also cherry quartz on the beach?
I live on CapeCod and the quartz is great on the beaches
Gorgeous 💗🥰🥰🌊

Come to Rhode Island. We are loaded with smoky quartz!
THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM ON MY COUNTRY OMG
Where is that?
I have a stone like that
I like is stone❤
What about tumbling the stones ?
Quartz tumbles beautifully. I just don't like the slick look, preferring a softer one. Different strokes.
Nice Q
