I don’t use marijuana, but when I watched this scene while in my barracks room while in the Army in Bavaria, Germany in 2003 I was stoned. My perception of this scene, thanks to marijuana, is that the guy with glasses only wanted to see his friend and be in his company, nothing more. Why? Ask why not. Shared company doesn’t need to be mucked up with meaningless banal conversation. Being in the company of an old friend is more than enough. I honestly believe I wouldn’t of had this epiphany if it wasn’t for being stoned.
