Life Long JD owner from 650, 2030, to JD6415. But this last time I turned in my Green hat to Capital Tractor in Montgomery. Went to drop off my diesel cutter (lifelong orange there) I glanced across the lot over at the big orange tractors. Well the sales guy saw me. He tricked me into the cab of a M6-111DTC and it was over. And when I came too I had loaded one up to take it home. Had it for a year and I love it. Kubota throws it all in on the base model, and Deer upgrades you to death for things you want. Just having the roof glass to see my limbsaw was enough to set the two tractors compared about 20k apart in price. And I love the service I get from Capital Tractor in Montgomery. No BS
OH shoot, I almost forgot. I set the world record for an operator with over 5000 hours experience to tear up his tractor the quickest. I had around half of my first tank of fuel left when I had to take it back. And that's with me losing 1/4 of the part missing to the ground when I somehow managed to pick up a old metal fence post, then get it jamed right under the full tank shield, then once jammed there I somehow backed up to straighten it out so it would jam into the fuel tank when I started forward. It was expertly done and I doubt anyone else could have pulled that feat off placing the one inch thick post into a quarter in gap around a 90 degree turn. But I did it right! But I had purchased the insurance for the first time ever on one so I got most of that back the first day. 😉
I might have to go check out these kubotas. I’m young but I’m old school when it comes to tractors. I don’t like all that new tech and electronics. Sure it’ll be cool while it lasts but guess what. Electronics and computers don’t last forever but I’ve got a 40 or 50 year old Massey 165 outside that’ll start right up and run better than all these new tractors.
My father has an M8950 that be bought new garage kept looks like new. Its amazing what the cab designs have turned into. For some the shuttle shift was a life saver LOL I would just settle for dedicated loader controls.
Cant believe you guys over the pond dont run with an extending pick up hitch, and you have hook ends and balls on your lowerlift arms? Is there a reason for this?
