Pro-L was my favorite limiter for years but this is the swiss knife of limiting ... like Pro-Q 2 for surgical equalizing all you need for this task. Great as always!

Just to be clear, if you want to use the external sidechain option, you have to send all your stems PRE FX to a bus, then send that bus to all of the the Pro L 2 instances on your stems, and have all your stems normally routed to the master and have the bus muted.
Or if using Ableton Live you can just put an Effect Rack somewhere in your Master FX chain (e.g. around the final limiter), and then use the Pre FX of this effect rack as the side chain for each stem limiter.

This mans voice and delivery are spectacular, I've watched this six times. I particularly enjoy "Here we see it taming the peaks of my voiceover track", "though of course, you're free to try it on anything you like" and the way he says 'fat'. And the soundtrack is the perfect accompaniment!
I haven't been this excited about a limiter plug-in since Waves L2 was released. Really pushing the envelope here, guys. Great stuff.
Really got a lot of use out of Wave L2 back in the day, but why would anyone even consider using Waves L2 these days, with an option like Pro L2 available?

The music is so dam good in this presentation.
Very impressive new features at a very attractive upgrade price. I would only suggest a display option solely for post work - just what a tv or movie mixer needs to pay attention to, big enough numbers for short term, long term, integrated loudness, more display customization options. It's a very advanced limiter and could be a great metering suite too only with just few minor tweaks, because it is all there already.Take a closer look at Waves WLM plus or Nugen, Izotope. I'm sure you can do even better, that's why I own the whole lot (except for Pro-R). Please, don't take it as a rant, I'm actually a big FF fan, that's why I care:-)

i think the best are the new algorhythms as well the x36 internal sample rates calculations, that´s could be an improvement in sound over v1, the rest is nice but for those who already own other good metering options it is not too much apeling, i don´t like the window move to change what the meter display shows

Thanks for the video. Could you please explain why DC offset is removed from input signal rather than from output?
They must be pretty confident that the plugin won't introduce any offset. It makes sense to filter it out pre-limiting so you get the best possible behavior out of the limiter but I don't know enough about plugin coding to know if they should really be that confident that their software won't introduce any offset of its own.
@@controlfreak6429 Hello, friendly neighborhood audio plugin developer here. There are many reasons you would want to filter DC Offset from the input rather than the output.
It's very important to note that audio that previously was not clipping may end up clipping when a DC Offset remover is applied, even if it doesn't have DC Offset. This is because realtime DC Offset removers work by removing the average of the past thousand samples or so, which will always result in at least a slight amount of vertical displacement. Once the DC Offset remover is applied, the output dbFs will be higher than the limiter's threshold at some points, which removes the point of using a limiter entirely.
Also, do not worry about limiters introducing DC Offset to your signal. Limiters are simply self-automated volume knobs, they will not introduce any DC Offset (unless the person making it had no idea what they were doing I guess, hahaha).

what's the benefit of applying limiter on each stem (sidechained full mix) to get it brickwall limited , rather then just full mix limiting
Maybe you've learned it after two years, but when exporting stems (and muting a lot of the mix) your master limiter will respond different than when all audio goes through it. If you export all your stems separately and add them together it will most likely clip
My Pro L2 doesn't show the integrated loudness meters on the right side. I don't know why 1:17

Hey, I have a novice question that I’m sure someone could help with.
I’ve just bought this and I love it.
I really like the gluey sound when I dig in by about 3db or so.
when I’m getting 3db of reduction my LUFS are up at about -6-7.
I’m looking for -14LUFS.
When I turn the gain down to get -14 LUFS, the limiter isn’t touching it and it sounds spikey and not as good.
How can I turn it down, to get -14LUFS, while still limiting it to a pleasant sound?

I can turn down the output to get -14LUF which would give me around 6ish DB of headroom.
I now have an option.
Send it to Spotify with their recommended -14LUFS but more than their recommended headroom,
Or send it with their recommended 1db of headroom, but higher LUFS than their recommended-14.
What should I go for? 🙏
@@normannutbar424 the sound you like is the important i think, and the -14 LUFS is the perceived volume, the headroom is a good thing.

I guess they have to use multiple DAWs if they want to deliver good plug-ins!

So, I'm still a happy Reaper user, and the audio for this video was mixed in Reaper. But I've recently renewed my relationship with Cubase as well. That's where I started back in the nineties, on an Atari ST! It will allow me to demo VST3 specific features, and sometimes I might use it because (let's face it) it's prettier than Reaper.
Dan Worrall I wonder how you can achieve 32x oversampling without audio drop out. Your computer must be very powerful...

Who was mixing that video? I came to learn about the plugin and not listen to loud Big Band music. If I want to do that I can blast my own music in the background to drown the narrator.
I know this is a terrible habit found with many inexperienced UA-camrs who think that everything has to have background music on (NOOOO). But a professional audio company falling into that same trap is very disappointing (and concerning)
BTW, that plugin looks amazing.
He is talking over the mix. This would have been so much better it he said what he was going to do and been quite so we could hear it.
