Wonder why they went with their refrigerator AC and did not use a DC electronic motor. The RV world already figured out how to make an Air conditioning unit run off DC power which takes fewer amps.
It’s not a serious attempt, they’re just making it to appease the lawmakers and for customers to play with new toys they don’t need ultimately ending up as a tax write off. A real electric unit would have a DC motor hermetically sealed scroll compressor and the battery pack would be very easy to swap out during a drivers lunch break to keep it going. Also, get rid of the diesel engine and fuel tank. I think the unit should be under the trailer alongside the battery pack for better integration and only have the refrigerant lines going up inside the box to cool the evaporator. Having very high voltage cables all over the trailer is extremely dangerous in an accident. Those systems are designed well but there will always be a flaw. There’s natural propane refrigeration split systems on the market already it can be done very safely.
I wonder how much would the trailer weigh now with all those batteries middle distance of the trailer 🤔 Wonder if it's = to the weight of fuel we normally carry.

@@markm0000 I think they keep the diesel engine and tank as a hybrid in case the electric system breaks down for some reason.

Weighs More!!!!!!
How much does this trailer weigh???
That's loud like diesel. Why don't you make it whisper quiet? Or you don't know how? Don't you understand that noise is bigger problem than pollution?
Why didn’t you open the hood to show us the heart of the system??
Exactly Witholding Details from Canadians
And when a tire blows? And takes out half that stuff? 😆
solar panels?
More crap to fix😢
What a nightmare.
AC power? Which is powered by coal fired power plants.
Does it matter where the electricity comes from. It’s not
About being greens it’s reducing as much diesel as possible
