Another way with the template, just put a very wide piece of masking tape on the top side above the letters and then put the template over the letters and mark the 2 holes. After you take off the old letters, then you just line up the template to the holes.
Nikki covacks channel he sprayed the chrome with plastic dip and it looked awesome, less work and cost. Yours is a great mod which looks great also. Anyone thinking about doing this they are both great options.
I would’ve never removed the ZR2 and AEV badges, these are special trucks, it’s like removing the IROC Z emblems off a IROC Z Camaro! Now it looks like regular Colorado with a lift and mods! I agree with the tailgate letters, plus you could’ve put a heavy application of plastic dip on the other logos!
Well, I appreciate that. I made it the way I wanted it. I didn’t remove a ZR2 badge. Also, it still has ZR2 Bison on both sides of the bed and AEV logos on both front headrests and the front floor mats.
That looks awesome. I am also working on the blackout on my 2019 Cajun Red Colorado ZR2. I really appreciate the tips especially the 3M eraser wheel. I do not have the Chevrolet lettering on my tailgate so I went with a solid black bow tie and it took forever to get the old residue off. I am definetly going to go with the lug nut cover but I might go with the wheel nut cover black bow tie with the chrome trim, it matches the steering wheel bow tie.
You're very welcome. The eraser wheel and the Goof Off made the residue removal really pretty fast and easy. It was my first time using an eraser wheel and I'm definitely sold on it!
They came with the new emblems. The new emblems are taped into them. If you’re careful, you can remove the guide from one of the new emblems to use for your tape line, and then put it back on the new emblem for application.
It looks nice with black on gray. I just bought a '24 Canyon Denali in black. I didn't even notice that everything was blacked out. Dang, what's the point of having a Denali if it's black on black and nobody can tell. LOL.
03:00 My OCD would kick in and line up the Bow Tie on the center cap with the Valve stem :P
So clean and with professional looking results - Nice job! That embossed Chevrolet on the tailgate is on point. 😀
Thanks a bunch!

Gig’ em! I prefer the black to the chrome as well.
Subbed 👍🏻
Whoop! And thanks!

Is the emblem in the back gloss black or flat black?
Gig'em 👍
Whoop!!
Do you have a link to the Colorado emblems that come with the guides most looks like they just come taped to a backer
There’s a link in the description to where I bought them.
Did the emblem guides come in the package or did you order them elsewhere?
They came with the new emblems. The new emblems are taped into them. If you’re careful, you can remove the guide from one of the new emblems to use for your tape line, and then put it back on the new emblem for application.
@@robofuzzwrenches Did you purchase the door emblems from Chevy dealer?
@@michaeljon1116 yes
