I have a black '20 ZR2, and i did this and the chrome around the blacked out bowties with red. I did it 3 years ago and i off-road it a lot, and i live where it gets into the high 90s in summer and below -40 often in the winter and its held up really good.
Nice job. I wonder if a horizontal 'stripe' across the doors in the indented portion would work. My 17 Colorado has an indented flare that would look good in black.
My trail boss is black and the chrome really annoys me. I like how yours turned out. I'd probably pay someone to do it, but I don't know that I feel like doing that three times on my own lol.
@Mi4mi_joe Good to know ! I was prepared to do it last summer, but someone told me to wait a couple of months for the clear on the truck to cure first, and so I waited.
Since they’re already installed I’d have to take everything out. And I won’t be able to show the wire stripping and soldering since that is already done. If I do another vehicle I’ll make sure to do a video on it. It’s the same concept for any car. My apologies. 🙏
@@Mi4mi_joe no worries man love the mods you’re doing I’m sure there is other videos out there I didn’t know if you could go more in depth as to where the wires went
@@brianfredricks9234 Thanks! I plan on doing rock lights in the future with a Switch Pros SP-9100. That’ll be a little more complicated but same basic working idea. Any light kit you buy will have a positive and ground wire. You can cut any plug wether cigarette , usb, etc. from there you can solder the positive onto a fuse tap and a ring terminal on to a grounded bolt on the vehicle. As far as the kit I got, the strips themselves were already wired together so I didn’t need to bother with those. As far as where the wires went, I showed how I hid them in the plastic trim and under the door sill. I believe I showed where I grounded and tapped into.
Really so i was going to order the same ones and they are black and silver - unless you got different wheel options - im ordering the 2024 z71@@Mi4mi_joe
I live in Zephyrhills, just north of Tampa, you ain't getting humidity below 70, 74 dew point this time of year, we are getting 75 to 80 dew point up here
Nicely done. I appreciate you sharing your challenges along with the overall success you had!

this is my dream truck and I can't buy it so I'm living vicariously! please keep up on build/mod vids!
Will do! I just cut my own graphic and installed it in the truck! Looks sick. Video coming soon.

Below the indent I think would look nice, not sure about inside the indent. Would be interesting!
Rad video! Thinking about doing the same to my FJ!
Thanks!!

Can you do an in depth how you hid the wires with the interior lights? And also the fuse tap please

@@brianfredricks9234 for the Colorado I used the Micro2
Is the bowtie black from the factory, or did you paint it? If it is painted what did you use
Factory
Great video!!! Where Did you get your rims?
Thanks! They came stock.
Was it tough getting inside the letters?
Not at all.
have you had any issue with the paint peeling off the emblem when you wash the truck ?
Not at all!!
@@Mi4mi_joe awesome !
Did you spray/plasti dip the wheels or powercoat?
My wheels are factory.

@@JohnnyJourneys I think they only come with the Trail boss. They’re the 20” high gloss black.
Dose your truck have noisy cold start for about 15 seconds?
If noisy you mean the turbo spinning? Yes. But not sure what you mean by noisy.
Are those 20inch wheels?
Yes
Help! Is this better than Plastidip???
@@TaylorEZE I think plasti dip is even easier to apply
