The best advice I've ever gotten for Extra-Curriculars is do a lot of the same thing(s) you love.
For example, if music is your life to where you can spend hours upon hours on it and not get bored, join (and maybe hold a position) the music club, choir, guitar club, musical theatre, glee club, acapella, etc. etc. I think it looks better if most if not all of your ECs fall under one umbrella, especially if you love it

I was 11 when I came to United States and my older brother told me about Harvard and I started trying to get in to Harvard.
And I have all As excepts one B. And I am 12 right now so I am learning application essay from my older brother friend and he is also graduated from Harvard. And I speak perfect English right now. Now I am trying to learn the most powerful words for my application essay and grammar too.
Thank you for the inspiration! I know for me (small town gal) it's unheard of being accepted into an Ivy League school, but Harvard has always been one of my top schools! This totally motivates me :)

Hello YesReneau, :) I love your videos and pretty sure I've binged watch all of them. I am also aspiring to become a Harvard undergraduate the summer of 2018 (I am a junior right now). When you talked about leadership material, I wonder if my role of being the president/founder of a psychology club and the Vice President of a medical club (both in school) will be good enough among thousands of other applicants.
In addition, I want to create a non-profit organization to help immigrants Learn English for free in my senior year. Do you think there will be enough time to create an entire non-profit organization, especially since I won't have the whole year to work on it because of the application process, too (all the while still holding the position in my two clubs)?

I'm 14 and I live in France so our grading system is not the same, but my average is 18.5 points out of 20 points (would be more if it wasn't for music class and PE). I would love to get into med school at Harvard but I don't know how to impress them, only two things that I'm pretty proud about is speaking 3 languages and drawing some pretty fucking realistic portraits (I am trying to be modest but they do get mistaken for photos a lot) so... yeah

HEY GUYS . i am european and my country doesnt offer much possibilities for extracuricular, i REALLY want to get into an ivy because first of all i think i can do it .. tbh a friend of mine told me that compered to where we lived ..america has everything much easier including ap classes, so many extracurricular and a great warmin environment to study bcs all the teachers help you a lott .. but i dont know yet what will happen in the future but i have one advuce to all of you ... it is not a big deal if you dont get in, i mean look at mathew patric"the creator of the game theorist" he finished berkley in double major in neurosience and drama and noone gave him a chance , but with his abilities he managed to open a youtube page and create his own job , what i am trying to say is that : the answer to your application isnt always the answer to your lifetime work .. your life its in your hands :)

You're not crazy I'm in seventh I want to go to an Ivy League school (preferably Princeton) and become a cardiothoracic surgeon.
+Sude Mutlu Yup it's definitely good to have your goals at 7th grade and work VERY hard towards them. Then again, do keep your mind open for anything else that comes along the way! Don't miss opportunities purely for the sake of sticking to your original plans :)

This makes getting into Harvard the easiest thing ever. You basically do have to have legacy to get in. My school was basically a feeder school for Harvard (it's a public school, but so many people had legacy at the Ivies). I've always joked that you can discovering the cure for AIDS, but Harvard will still pass you up for someone with legacy.

Hey, you're really good on doing videos! I'm really curious, how is it harvard? The campus? Could you do a video showing your rotine or the campus?
I got invited to register at Harvard this week and I am on the midst of applying. Pretty much the craziest thing ever! Ill be taking mostly online because I do not have a high income family, so I will be working full time in my state while taking classes at Harvard!! It is just so hars to believe that I will be a student at Harvard when I was never valedictorian or the perfect student in High School. I took the most unorthodox/non traditional routes and focused on shaping myself as a real person as well as a good student. . . To me they are both equally important elements.
Im just curious as to how I will be able to afford/find a place to stay for that one semester I must fully attend on campus.. do you have any tips?

Ur clearly lying. If you got in and had a poor family, you would get a full ride. You also can only take classes full time.

For classes required to get into Harvard I heard you need one AP of each class, math, science, history, and English. In 10th grade you should do one AP 11th two AP and 12th one AP. What do you think, is this the right way to go if I am to get into Harvard.

hey your this video as well as the previois video both are awesome now I have few questions besides the information you provided....first is in my high school I did not take physics chemistry biology or any pure science subject I chose accounts economics business mathematics as my majors....I have always been interested in astronomy so basically I want to study astrophysics if not that then in option architecture...now why I dint take science was because astronomy was not included in any part when I was in class 10 and I was a average student so I thought I could not study science but now that ive take all management subjects I am not happy so I want to study astrophysics or architecture.
getting into harvard is very tough I ve always heard this and my grades arent that good but I have been awarded as all rounder student in high two times and ive volunteered several social campaigns and yes I would definately do my best in SAT test....but I just dont know if I can actually study physics or not...if you could help me...

Hey Reneau, do you think it would be less likely for someone who plays a sport not for the school team but as a hobby on the weekends to get into Harvard or any Ivy league? From what I've heard, if you join athletics in high school then your chances would be much much better.

I would love to go to Havard! However I'm 16 and in my 2nd semester in college going for a Associates' degree. I am currently doing a project in which i try to help my institute iit varanasi in improving overall educational standard and i had a couple of questions to ask related to this .
How does Harvard make sure that its curriculum is regularly updated for the changing technology world ? They definitely have qualified person to do that But how are those people chosen and how do those person explain that this change in curriculum is necessary .
How does Harvard handle outside project/work like building a new hostel or improving sanitation system ? what i want to know is that how do they make sure that there is no corruption in contract . I would also like to know that how does it implement new idea .Eg If someone comes up with a amzing new idea of amazing electricity , what process does that idea go through before finally being implemented .
In my institute , most of the authorities are traditionalist (sort of ). They resist change . They dont understand anything about value of innovation atmosphere , ethics of business and stuff like that . So , i have to make a very good presentation to them to convince them why earlier method were wrong .
